This was my first time eating from Pizza Volterra despite driving past it almost everyday. The food truck and retro-euro vibe it has is pretty cool and it looks great at night with the lights and deck seating area all perfectly positioned under an old tree. For my first order I went with the meatball sandwich because the pictures from previous reviewers looked pretty amazing. Although the wait was a little long, I have to say, it was well worth it! This is not your typical food truck. This is top-tier! The dough, sauce, cheese, and crumbled ground meatball were all amazing, it tasted and smelled like it came out of a wood fired brick oven from Bleecker Street in Greenwich Village. Texas is not typically known for its pizza, but that's only because people haven't tried Pizza Volterra. Due to the longer than normal wait time for the sandwich, the staff gave me a free beverage. fantastic tasting pizza! It is even thinner than a New York style pencil, and they provide scissors for you to cut the pizza, and the taste is absolutely wonderful However, the only thing I didn't like is that the pressed is so thin that it flops down and you can't hold it up to eat it... We arrived in town after a long drive from Dallas. Many of the restaurants along Main St were already closed to we opted for pizza to take to the hotel. We found this on the fly so it came as a surprise that it was a food truck. The pizza was pretty good. I had a simple margarita and they used fresh basil. Staff was meh. Maybe they were tired or cold, but service cost them a star. I deducted another star for the price. For what you get, it was a bit overpriced. I've had better and more for less. It worked because we were starving. I wouldn't go back and I'd only recommend it after setting expectations. read more

OMG! To say the pizza, salads and the Panuozzo is excellent is quite an understatement!! We've had the Panuozzo twice already and it's consistently delicious.... The flavorful crust has a soft interior and slightly crisp exterior. There are a million brick oven pizza places, but Pizza Volterra is in a class by itself. The mushrooms on my pizza filled my mouth with a deep earthy flavor. My farro salad radiated with colorful vegetables and a tangy dressing.
