The young lady who took our drink order and our waitress recommended the Crafty Quesadilla - Shredded cheese with sauteed peppers and onions, served with lettuce and tomato garnish salsa and sour cream. You can have it just like that or customize with- Grilled Chicken, Shaved Steak, Grilled Shrimp, Bacon, Lobster, Ground Cab Beef, Plant Based Patty, Fresh Jalapenos, Sauteed Mushrooms, Black Olives, and Tomatoes. I added chicken. It was very tasty with a balanced amount of chicken and vegetables. My husband had the Conway Burger. Local favorite! Bacon, lettuce, tomato, and onion, with pepper jack cheese. We had fried pickles for a starter and he added some of them to the burger. It was a nice big burger. Cannot wait to go back and try their Rivertown Mac. Conway is a beautiful town perfect for strolling on a lovely day. Picked up a jar of local honey from Mountain Man Honey & Goods. Lot of great local spreads without refined sugars.

Hot, fresh, stuffed with pasta and warm flavorful cheese. Next we ordered cocktails. My wife ordered a Painkiller. Me an Old Fashion. Taylor recommended I try their version, New Fashion. Made with their mix of a house Bourbon. Man it was good. And the Painkiller? Let's just saw I held my wife hand, and guided her to our vehicle. For our main courses, my wife had the chicken and sausage pasta. I had the Bison Ribeye. Both we would order again without hesitation. The pasta dish was huge. With two breasts and numerous pieces of sausage. Over Fettuccini style pasta, with a lite and flavorful red sauce. It tasted fresh, and rich. She could only eat about a third of it. The rest came home. I ordered my Bison medium rare. The Chef hit it perfectly. Beautiful red meat in the center, nice and warm. So much flavor, and tender. With it I had the potato of the day. They were mashed with the skin. Full of butter, milk, and seasoned. In addition I had a side of creamed spinach. Very rich and deep. The cream tasted similar to a cheese sauce. So good. I brought nothing home. Finished the entire meal there. In addition, because it was our anniversary, the gave us a very nice card. And a piece of cake for dessert. Champaign was offered, but neither of us drink it, and didn't want to waste it. If you haven't tried Crooked Oak Tavern, you are missing a very nice experience.

This was once one of the best spots for pizza in Conway. I was a HUGE fan when they first opened during COVID, but it's obvious that the original owners have sold the biz and moved on! Sad. My first indication that things have gone downhill? Flies in the pizza by the slice case. When brought to the attention of the cashier, she looked, waved her hand to shoo them away, and mumbled something about them coming in the door with customers? Felt like a Third World street vendor. Ordered two grandmother pizzas and had almost non-existent toppings. End that with a crust that was so dense and hard to chew, I would've been better off getting a pie from Domino's or Papa John! Totally run downhill. If you want a decent spot for pizza, look elsewhere. Pizza Town has lost their groove! read more

Let's face it. The bar is very low when in comes to pizza in SC. Sadly, I've had people recommend Pizza Hut, Domino's, and (trying not to gag) Papa John's as 'good pizza'! Stopped into this little spot in a strip mall on a whim and what a hidden gem of a spot! Pizza by the slice, Garlic knots, and subs to die for! EVERYTHING is on point... and the Steak Sandwiches are on a level with any you would get in the Delaware Valley (Philly) area! The owners are transplants from the S. Jersey area and they know their Pizzeria food. If you don't stop in at least once, you're missing out!! read more
