THE BAD: These fools are low key rude and they don't seem to enjoy their work very much and it shows. The girls who occasionally work there are much better than the dudes because they smile and take your order without an attitude... and they are not too harsh on the eyes, if ya know what I mean. I eat there many times a week and they still don't seem to acknowledge me as more than just another customer, meanwhile I continue to contribute to their fancy rimmed car budget. Food: I have often had a pizza served to me not fully cooked, I mean the dough is not fully cooked and still looks white on the bottom and the crust is not puffy and "crusty". Perhaps they are busy or whatever but I don't care, I want my pizza cooked, not rushed out the door. especially when they tell me to pick up the pizza in 20 minutes and they have had it sitting in a box on top of the oven for nearly 10 minutes because they took it out too early and gave me a screwed up timeline to pick up my pizza. This happens almost all the time I order. THE GOOD: WHEN they get it right, the pizza is very tasty. They usually use quality ingredients and the dough is usually fresh. Tasty pizza for a reasonable price. Compared to dominhoes or pizza hut... there is no comparison! This is 'real' pizza at a good price. Did I mention the honey dips? I mean the cuties who work at the flower shop and sometimes come over to lend a hand in the kitchen, they are mad sexy yo! Big shout out to those honeys! read more

If you like cold food and being lied to, I highly recommend Pizza Time. I called and asked if they could send an updated menu. They told me no menu. 6:23 on a Wednesday evening I ordered 3 sandwiches, 3 pizzas, 1 spaghetti. I was told 45 mins. Over an hour later, I called and was told the driver left and is on the way. 20 minutes later, I called and asked to speak to the manager. The woman said "he's not here". I asked for the whereabouts of my order since 20 minutes elapsed and they are 3 easy miles away (10 minutes via bicycle). Now she said the order was just coming out of the oven when I called last. My doorbell rang. The food was here. I asked the driver if it was still hot. He assured me it was hot and fresh. Truth: the cheese was hard, the pizzas and spaghetti were cold. Waiting an hour and a half for cold food is unacceptable. What a waste of $90. It was great as Pizza King in the 80s. Bye, bye, Pizza Liars. read more

Checking out this place since i was by the area so i had to try out the Calzone. Man let me tell you it was of the hook !!!!! I wasnt expecting a huge portion for what i ordered , which was a small calzone. The price was decent and the place was spottles . They sure do take care of their customers. my coworkers and i placed an order on monday march 30th to have it catered for april 1st for a party we are having at 1130am. they said they would call and confirm our order at 11am they never called so we decided to call to confirm with them but they never picked up there phone at all, weve been calling since 1115am till 12pm nothing. we had to call another pizza place to have our food catered. we will never order from pizza time again. read more

- horrible service - horrible attitude - horrible experience - standard business practice for Pizza Time Downey - par for their course What started as a goodhearted attempt to give a local family owned small business business, quickly felt like a mistake in the making. Tasked to pick up some Friday night pizza from Costco, the long lines their made me reconsider. A call to Pizza Time was made. Understanding that it was a Friday afternoon, I was initially patient. Waiting several minutes on the phone before the representative (who had abruptly placed me on hold) got back on the phone, I was patient with his aggressive demeanor. I placed an order for three pizzas and was told to expect the pies to be ready within 10 to 15 minutes. I arrived 20 plus minutes later. When asked, the cashier stated that the pizzas were already finished...so I paid him. It was at that moment that I noticed that there were no pizzas ready for pick up. He then stated that they were finishing them that they were almost finished. The truth of the matter was that they hadn't started making them. I asked why he had misrepresented the truth. He responded in a very unprofessional and rude manner. He said that it takes time to make pizzas. He then said that they would only take about 5 minutes to be completed. Some ten minutes later, I asked him why he had only just then started making the pizzas. He stated that 3 pizzas on a Friday evening just takes a long time. I asked him why he couldn't have just been upfront from the beginning. He was got louder and more rude. The younger kid in the back approached the counter and said that he was the manager. He then stated that he was going to "educate" me. He started to state that Friday evenings are just busy and that no matter where I'd go order a pizza they night, an order of three pizzas would take 20 plus minutes. Responding back to the initial estimated time for completion phone quote, I again questioned why they couldn't just be more upfront from the beginning. His response was that that was industry standard. I told him that that was not industry standard and that I had choices. Having a realistic timeframe from the beginning would have most likely had me wishing to opt for s different pizza parlor. The two reps flat out said that they didn't care and that I could write a Yelp review. Whatever happened to placing value on one's customers? Some places get it. They get that good customer service can mean repeat customers...this place will eventually get that concept when they lose clients to other places. read more

Although i can not vouch for there other foods on the menu, there pizza is very good. I will not advertise it as the best pizza every made, but as quick pizza for a party, get together, or a simple family dinner goes, it will do you very well. The pizzas are not underdone, there cheese is chew, the toppings are well seasoned, and the crust is crisp with a warm, chew(not doughy) center. If you are looking for a filling, inexpensive, very good pizza, this is your place. read more

ordered delivery via yelp/grubhub. in the interest of full disclosure, slightly intoxicated from cheap liquor store rosé, but in theory, that means that this should taste sooo much better right? nope. ordered large pepperoni and delux or the works pizza, can't remember what it's called, but it was ok; the 10 yr old didn't love the pepperoni at first slice, but second slice grew on him and he said it "was good!". nice change from dominos, wasn't amazing but was decent. wings were tasty. love that they're lightly battered and fried as that makes them a bit crunchy, which was nice and the mild still had a bit of a kick. my disappointment was the almost $4 i paid for a 2 liter coke (i get it, i pay for convenience), my my uber over ridiculous annoyance came from paying $4 for a slice of cheesecake that i could have paid way less for at jack in the box, and could have gotten a bigger slice. i know, i know, who orders cheesecake from a yelp pizza delivery service?? well apparently this drunk, errr, gal! whatevs, lesson learned! can i with 100% certainty say that i will never order from this place again or order the EXACT same thing again?? LOL, nope! maybe next time i'll order sober though, to give a more accurate review, but then again, probably not. read more

Let me start out by saying that my goal in posting here is to simply bring truth to these reviews as much as possible.....that way people can have realistic expectations before they spend their hard earned money on the culinary equivelant of fool's gold. I realize that there is necessarily some subjectivity on here because we all have different tastes. God knows we are all entitled to our own opinions. Having said that, I find it very difficult when people say that a pizza that costs only 7 or 8 bucks is the "best pizza they've EVER had". It makes me think they either live under a rock, seriously have no money, have no life experience, or quite simply are lying. Having said this, I ventured over to Pizza Time to experience their $8 pizza. What I was hoping was that it would be somewhere between Little Caesar's and Uncle Red's in Bellflower in terms of quality. You see, since Mamma Mia's Pizza in Norwalk closed down I have been hard pressed to find a pizza place that would be a step up from Dominoes and Little Caesars, but not quite as expensive as gourmet pizza like Pina for instance. Let's say an 18" pizza with two toppings for around the $15 dollar range. So I got meaballs and pepperoni on my Pizza Time pizza. It looked pretty decent when I picked it up so I was excited to get it home. What I discovered was that it was just ok. I would say it was on par with Little Caesar's. The cheese wasn't chewy enough for me, the meatballs tasted like they had freezer burn, and the sauce was a little bit stale...but hey...this was a large pizza for $8. Would I come back here again? Possibly. If I had $8 burning a hole in my pocket and I was in the mood for some "fast food" pizza, I might. I go to Taco Bell sometimes too, but I don't expect El Cholo...if you catch my drift. I'm giving these guys 3 stars because I believe in this case the price matched up properly to the value. And if a person tells you this is the best pizza they've ever had be afraid......be very afraid. read more
