Nice place, nice workers, seems pretty clean. The pizza was very good and so were the wings. I shared this meal with my parents and cousin and we all liked it a lot. We were having a really good time. The only weird thing was that on the tv, they were playing animal dissecting videos. It was of a goat and it was supposed to be educational I think, but a little off putting. My cousin didn't mind though and it wasn't that big of a deal. Came across this pizza restaurant driving home and decided to give it a shot. So I hopped on the slice app and put my order in. I was impressed by the quality of their food. The pizza and cheese bread were cooked to perfection. The pizza with a crispy crust and delicious toppings and the cheese bread with the excellent cheese pull were great. The only downside were the wings(not pictured)that I ordered didnt have any buffalo sauce on them but the quality of the food made up for it. The service was great. It's good and affordable. The cheese and sauce doesn't get the crust soggy. the cheese oozes off each slice yet doesn't fall off the pizza and leaves you with a saucy slice. Defiantly better than Pizza Hut or any other franchise pizza chain. I also ordered the wedges and they came out hot and crispy! I ate it there so I'm sure it has a lot to do with it. In my pizza experience, which is quite extensive, I have never had a pizza as dry as this. I could barely see or taste any sauce. Usually some shops will skimp on cheese or toppings, not sauce. The toppings were a fair amount, as well as the cheese. The crust was average. Overall, the pizza was bland and kind of flavorless. I think I might order again, just to try their fried chicken. Pizza Time in Downey has no where near my favorite type of pizza, but it is still some pretty decent pizza. The only kind we tried was a pepperoni pie with relatively thick crust, which is not what my husband and I like. But it was still good, I thought. If you're going to try Pizza Time for the first time, call in your order for carryout. There is not really much of a dining area I have never ever seen anyone actually eating in there of the three times I've been. It would probably only accommodate small groups. If you carryout, usually it takes about 15-20 minutes for your food to be ready. TRY THIS... I really enjoyed their lasagna and spaghetti dishes. And their salads. Every time I got their salads everything was fresh. Actually I couldn't believe how fresh their salads were. We've tried the family combo special. Good gosh it's tons of food for around $30. DID YOU KNOW? One of their pizza toppings is chorizo. They recently added a breakfast pizza: bacon, eggs, and jalapeño. I love breakfast, so this is so up my alley (if only my hubby wasn't so picky about the crust!). Oh, but I'll try it someday... And add chorizo! I just hope it isn't a limited time offer. I forgot to ask. They also offer calzones, antipasto salad, Greek salad, chicken salad, ribs, fried chicken, sub sandwiches, drinks, and a few appetizers and desserts. They accept debit/credit cards. CHECK-IN OFFER: Every time I have come here they honor their 10% off Yelp check-in offer. I'm so happy they provide this offer as hardly anyone else in Downey does this. Most recently for a game night at our house, I ordered 2 lasagna dinners ($19.98) and 1 spaghetti dish ($8.99) to go. With tax ($2.33) my order came out to $25.87 to feed four adults and 1 child. Each dish comes with a small styrofoam container of salad and some breadsticks. That's GOBS of food! Plus they provide paper plates, plastic utensils, crushed red pepper (my husbands LOVES that they give us this), parmesan cheese, Ranch dressing packets, and napkins. Larger pizza chains do NOT do this anymore. In fact, they seemingly charge you for all of it. We had plenty of leftovers to divvy up at the end of our meal. When our girls get older and they have slumber parties - and I know they will - I will most definitely order some lasagna dinners for all of them. It may not be your absolute favorite pasta dishes, but my orders have always been brought out piping hot with fresh, cold salads. Sometimes it seems like it's hard for the person answering the phone to hear with the kitchen so close to their ear. I often have to repeat what I'm saying when I call them. Also, the online menu does not correlate with what the extensive menu on their TV screens say. PARKING It's located in the middle of a strip mall. Parking can be hit or miss, but there are usually some spots open in the vicinity. However the issue I see is the following: - The flier at our office (might have been outdated) had a Large Steak Calzone listed at $7.99 - Their website has a Large Steak Calzone at $8.99 - Yelp's full menu link displays a Large Steak Calzone for $9.99 - In actuality, I was charged $11.99 for a Large Steak Calzone. With Jalapeno it was $12.99. - It was a bummer when the $7.99 became $12.99 by the time I went to pick up the order (-2) Updated 10/26/16. Employee actually said "I appreciate the tip".
