The downtown location will always be a classic... but there's a lot to be said for the convenience of a small strip mall storefront with lots of parking (no city parking meters here.) The store is small with only a few tables for dine in and very clean and neat. The staff is absolutely too notch! Very friendly, chatting with customers and generally smiling. It's welcoming. Just like the original in State Street location there is a large selection of slices, both NY thin crust and thicker Sicilian. Something for everyone and very high (but not quite at the top) on my list of go-to pizza joints. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area. read more

We picked up some pizza from here last night. It's a small place inside, only a couple of tables. Staff didn't seem busy at all, just standing around, which is surprising for a pizza place on a Saturday night. The young men were decent and quick at serving me. I didn't feel the pizza was that great. It had good tasting pepperoni, but the bottom crust was far too thin, making for a soggy floppy slice, it made eating it far too messy; cheese slides off and sauce drips. best pizza in Rochester! I moved up here from Brooklyn a year and a half ago and never found a place that sold pizza that was NYC style or quality. I'm so glad i found this place and i just hate that i didn't find it sooner. Their garlic knots are also really good. they're drenched in this parmesan garlic sauce that is amazing. Only downside is they are closed on Sundays :( They need to open more locations in the Rochester area and i will definitely be a regular here!! read more

If you are craving nyc style pizza this is the place to go. Nice and thin and no pizza sag. If you want Rochester style this is not the place. I ordered the basic cheese because that is my favorite of what was available. 2.75 for a slice of cheese pizza which is a good deal and a little more for speciality. The staff were very nice. They have so many options of pizza. Their stuffed buffalo chicken is something of magic. Today they had only a few options. I find this location has a lot less to offer than the downtown and Perinton locations but since I usually grab cheese it's not an issue for me. I've been sleeping on the Pizza stop for far to long! They offer quality service and delicious pizza for a decent price! It's not the cheapest but it's not the most expensive. They are my go to spot for pizza now personally. The flavor is authentic and I love the crust. They have some of the best wings I've had and they have good sauces to go with them! read more

It's been a while since we've gotten pizza stop pizza-decided to try again since we enjoyed it in the past. We live in Spencerport now so it's about 15 minutes to get there. Ordered via phone, person was very nice, confirmed my order and told us it would be ready in 20 minutes. Pull up to store, wife gets out to pick up and pay, but returns shortly to say that they cancelled our order for "some" reason and it would take 15 minutes more-asked my wife to go in and find out why-she came back with no reason but so said she heard the guy making pizzas say " the guy in the Mercedes can wait" ok-I'm fortunate to be able to drive a Mercedes, but why should I be punished because I drive a nice car. Based on that comment, and the fact that the pizza maker feels I deserve to wait even though it was their fault, I hope the owners read this-I WILL NOT be back no matter how good their pizza maybe. I know that their are numerous businesses that would appreciate my business not matter what kind of car I drive. If this person judges me by the kind of car I drive, I can imagine what he thinks of people that come in and have their dirty work clothes on, or may be buying their pizza as a treat even though their budget is tight. They call this "Pizza Stoop" because the doorway is very short. Nobody over 5 foot 2 can actually get in here. Not without stooping anyway, hence the name. But since the hottest girl on earth is 5 foot 2 anyway, it makes sense that we'd all have to bend over (so to speak) to get inside (so to speak). However she's always wearing seven inch heels, and I'm wondering, is it hard to stoop in heels? I'm not sure. Let's all test this theory. Let's put on seven inch heels and bend over and see how easy it is (so to speak). You go first. I'll stand behind you and make sure you don't fall over. What to get: White Garlic Mushroom Broccoli slice if they have it, also Grandma slice What else: Any other slice really And then what: It reminds me of how damn amazing the downtown location is. What else: If this were spoken backwards, it'd be Pots Azzip. Why you would put a zip in a pot I have no idea but each to their own, I suppose. Pizza Mop is named as such because the floor is always f***ing wet. I get sick of slipping on it and hurting myself. But I just can't bring myself to sue them because the slices are so damn delicious. One of these days I totally will. Probably not. OK never. But then I'm not American, so the whole lawsuit thing... Anyway. Pizza Stop is hands down the best Pizza in Rochester. Joe's Brooklyn is not too far back in second, and Carmine's, some locations of Cam's and Guida's and others, Nino's too, are all very good. But nothing compares to Pizza Stop. I highly recommend the downtown location (State St, just moved 2 doors down - not 3 doors down - from their previous location), because they have such an amazing location and the pizza tastes even better. If you have to run to the bathroom right after eating it, is it Pizza Plop? If you do come to this Greece location, perhaps because they're open later or because of convenience if you live in the NW suburbs with all the hotties, then you'll find excellent service and wonderfully delicious slices of pizza. They have a limited selection, especially later in the day. Their cheese, cheese pep and fancy meaty slices are all fantastic, but the broccoli white garlic mushroom (if they have it) is their piece de resistance. And if I used the same jokes that I used for the other location, it'd be Pizza Schtick. If Pizza Stop was located in NYC, it'd be one of the best pizza places in the Big Apple. That's how good it is. Rochester is very lucky to have the two awesome locations of Joe's Brooklyn and even moreso, these two wonderful Pizza Stop locations. I ordered at 8 o'clock on a Saturday night. I ordered an order of garlic knots and a small half cheese, half pepperoni pizza. I ordered the pizza because they only had two slices left which were mushroom and pepperoni and they had no intention of making any more (8pm on a sat night..). When I picked up my order at 8:30, other people came in and tried to order but pizza stop said they weren't taking any more orders that night. According to their website, not Yelp or Google they're open till 10 p.m. on a Saturday night. They didn't mention they had an emergency or anything, but just that they were closing down so I'm not sure what happened with that. Anyway in my opinion, the pizza was good but overly seasoned. When that's all you can think about when you're eating the pizza, it's too much. I love how thin it is, it reminds me of Acme Pizza. My biggest gripe is that they put my order of garlic knots in an unsealed container. It was one of those styrofoam small to-go containers . when I got home and opened the bag, butter and garlic were everywhere. They need to be put in a sealed container. I counted my blessings that I did not put them on my beautiful leather seats, as the floor had butter on it probably due to a hole in the bag. The garlic knots were just what I was looking for except for the fact that there was way too much butter and I could only eat two of them because I got a stomach ache. I hate when places use that fake butter stuff that looks like it's the butter they use on popcorn at the theaters. BUT, really want to like this place. I want to experience what the people who wrote a really high review experienced. Just because I didn't enjoy it doesn't mean you won't and I will most likely give them another shot. If I have to try on a bridesmaid's dress in Greece, I'm going to take advantage of Pizza Stop being next door. I immediately walked through the door for a takeout slice after my appointment. We'll worry about my dress fitting later. They had a few slices out of different varieties, just after the lunch rush and were making a few cheese and pepperoni pies. I opted for the last slice of the stuffed meatball parm. It's my go-to slice when I visit the downtown location and I think the stuffed version is my new fave. I'm all about a thicker crust on my pizza and it was a great balance of cheese, meat and dough. One slice was ~$4. I was more than full after one piece. Other options worth trying: - Buffalo chicken - Garlic knots - Thin crust cheese (classic!) ... you can't go wrong! The space itself is best for takeout. The front area has only a few small tables to sit and wait for your food to be ready or to sit with a friend or two to eat. Greece is lucky to have a spot like this nearby. First off, don't expect to be getting the same pizza as if you were going to the original downtown location, the food is here is much different. It's not at all disappointing considering some of the other pizza joints around the area but you won't be getting the same experience, but you'll create one here. Be cautious because Pizza Stop is located behind a Taco Bell and a Burger King, two mediocre fast food joints that may be cheaper but aren't as satisfying. Having it be in a strip-mall is sort of a hit and miss but parking is never an issue. It's not that large on the inside but that's the point of this location, it's best served as an area to order your food and then leave as soon as possible if you choose to come, but you can order from home anyway. Design and location aside, the food is the most important part of the business, so how does that turn out? Depends on what your order! I'm a simple pizza guy who only gets cheese or at the very least pepperoni on my pizza unless I find another topping that suits me. The cheese and sauce balanced out nicely but it was a bit greasy, something I can't stand in most pizza's but it wasn't that severe. It was easy to bit into, not to hard to break a bracket and not to soft to disintegrate. The crust wasn't that large and a bit thin but it wasn't hard so it went down easy. The final grade for the pizza gets around a B+, solid and tasty but still lagging a bit behind. I did end up trying the garlic knots as a side, anything garlic is going to catch my attention. Those garlic knots are a real nightmare to my waist so I won't be ordering them again but drenched in all that garlic...it's hard to resist, but I'd eat about twenty of those, not good at all. So it isn't the same as downtown but it creates it's own take on what pizza they want to serve to the Greece area. For someone like me who alternates every week on which pizza to get, this may be one of the few places that I'll be most likely returning to. What's not to love?! Is it perfect? Well no, but for local residents on the west side of Rochester who want a taste of the pizza stop, this is the closest thing you can get to pizza perfection. read more

I wanted something different from our normal go to pizza places in Greece. After reading some pretty good Yelp reviews, I decided to give Pizza Stop a try. I called in to place my order for pick up and was given an exact time for when my pizza will be ready. I mean he literally said it would be good to go at 5:55pm! I ordered the daily special which consists of a large pizza with one topping and a dozen wings. We opted for a simple pepperoni pie with our wings covered in buffalo mild sauce. Upon arrival, my pizza was in fact ready and the wings were being boxed up. The pizza was delicious! Everything about it was perfect. I absolutely love authentic New York style pizza so this definitely hit the spot for me. Slices are meant to be folded! The buffalo mild sauce was also good - very subtle kick! My only "negative" was the wings were a tad too crispy for me. I still devoured them so it definitely wasn't too serious of an issue!
