This review is long overdue! A few years ago I was introduced to Pizza Rox by a friend. Their pizzas and wings quickly became a go to choice for football game days, whether college or pro. Awesome every time! Then a year ago I went Gluten Free in addition to already being dairy free. I wasn't aware at the time of their GF dough, but eventually came to learn about it. I've tried a lot of GF pizza over the past year and this is hands down the best!!! It's not even close. They make their own, while most other places purchase dough from a manufacturer. The difference is obvious in both texture and taste. Not only is GF pizza excellent, but using the same dough they make an exceptional calzone! Today Pizza Rox lost a long-time customer who used to rave how good their food was and recommend them to anyone looking for a pizza joint. What was once consistently quality/unique pizza has now become consistently disappointing. Previously: -they've ignored requested modifications -as leftovers, their crust become cement -they've had rude customer service, with an employee talking on a cell phone at the cash register, ignoring my presence while my pizza got cold. They easily could've walked elsewhere to have their conversation, mouthed to me "one moment", or grabbed another employee to help me out (i could see them available). -coincidentally, they employee that was rude to me then, is the same person that has turned me off of Pizza Rox forever today as well. (taller middle aged man with tan skin and black/grey hair) Today: I ordered ahead of time with a scheduled pick-up time. Added my requested modifications- simply replacing the cheese to the vegan cheese option on the Breakfast at Tiffany's pizza (because i am lactose-intolerant). Keep in mind, this pizza includes bacon, eggs, and sausage. When i picked up my order, i was then informed by that same employee that he changed my sausage to a vegan sausage despite not requesting it. This made absolutely zero sense to me. WHAT VEGAN WOULD ORDER A PIZZA WITH EGGS, BACON, AND SAUSAGE ON IT THEN ONLY ASK TO REPLACE THE CHEESE. Oh wait, I'm not vegan and if i was, i would not have ordered that pizza option OR i would've requested all of the modifications that i desired. I have no idea why that employee decided to take the propagative and change customer orders without consulting them about it first. I've worked in customer service and the restaurant industry before and this guy is not a good fit at all. He is unfriendly and rude. I am highly disappointed in Pizza Rox. read more

The purple-rain pizza is my favorite! It includes eggplant, ricotta cheese, and basil along with the red sauce and cheese. So. Dang. Good. Every time. It's a fun atmosphere with a nice vibe as they play music and also sell beer. We enjoy PizzaRox. They make the pizzas fresh in front of you one by one and fire them up. I thought their pizza was amazing. It's just what I like, a hand tossed crispy yet still chewy cracker crust and so many great options! I had the prosciutto and burrata. So so good. You order a bit like at a chipotle where you stand and someone takes your order and begins your pizza. Note they do have gluten free options for crust! There were two staff directly in front of us as we stood waiting to order. Neither of them greeted us or asked to take our order and were engaged in friendly conversation with each other while we stood there. That was weird. Finally someone else came to help us and she was friendly and efficient. They had some good beer and cider options we tried too, but I might have been happier at the Coke Freestyle machine...I just love using those things! Seating was acceptable not comfortable. The tables were very close together and it was a battle to get out once someone sat behind you and pulled their chair out. It also seemed like the pizza took too long to come out, but it was Friday night and there was a ton of takeout orders so perhaps you don't get priority if you are waiting to dine in. First time trying out PizzaRox and I gotta say they started out weak! Walked in to a "full" resraurant. Seats full of customers, restaurant full of noise due to a total lack of any sound dampening furnishings, a floor full of trash, and a counter full of employees but only half of them were working? We stood there for almost 5 minutes while one girl stretched dough while talking to another who was just standing, but neither said hi, be with you in a second, or otherwise acknowledged us... Strike 1. We finally ordered our pizzas, but the ciders we ordered with dinner were 'not cold yet' and 'we just ran out of that one. Seems like Friday night would be the best time to make sure you're stocked up... Strike 2. Finally! Time to eat. Both of our pizzas were super yummy, my only issues was really that somehow even with a very thin crust, the bottom of my pie's crust was cooked all the way though but somehow pale white and not crispy at all... Such a great place for the best Gluten Free pizza. Fresh GF dough brought from the back, change of gloves, shaped the dough onto a clean pizza sheet and went to the toppings. Again a change of gloves and new toppings were brought out to ensure no cross contamination. Finally ready for the pizza oven, once again new gloves, new paddle and no other pizzas cooking with mine. As I walked in I was greeted this was when the first opened up the doors for business today ...on the wall behind the counter there were a list of pizza's how they were made they make and desserts too . I ordered the white wedding pizza and the meat lovers thin crust on both , but the gentleman who was making them said they were out of toppings so I did pivot around what they had .. The fresh ingredients and flavors on both pizza was delicious.The crust was light not doughy.. The sauce had like a smoked flavors .. taste to it , Duffy ,but I liked it... you can watch your pizza being made to being put in a huge pizza old fashioned oven & the dessert I ordered a cheesecake cannoli style it came out on a flatbread with bananas and powder sugar and chocolate syrup.. and Nutella on top with cannoli cream ..I didn't like it the flavors were off .. The crust and actual bread of the pizza was great; however, the cheese and sauce just slid off when I picked up the slice. I wasn't too big a fan of that. My sister had the bbq chicken pizza and enjoyed this. I ordered the cheese garlic bread which was so delicious. I liked this way more than my pizza, it was so flavorful. I still love Hot for Teacher, but I've been ordering Purple Rain (the one with the eggplant parmesan) mostly lately. Regardless of the toppings, I love the crust. The crust is so delicious! For a fairly small size pizza, I will eat one half for dinner and the other half the next day. My kids love the garlic bread, so we order this repeatedly. Sometimes they like the regular cheese pizza, too. I recently tried the appetizer bread that has bacon and hot honey on it, and it was divine! My husband likes Valley Girl (chicken and pesto sauce), and my in-laws adore the Oye Come Va (Mexican pizza). We all love the White Wedding (nutella dessert pizza) too. I gave this place a second shot. They use to make great pizzas, but they constantly burn to go orders and aren't consistent. They look like they are working hard behind the counter, but they don't seem to care about the result. If a restaurant served a customer burned food they would return it or refuse to pay. As you can see from the latest photo the crust is black and not just a single spot. About 60% of the crust is black. I just don't understand how they went downhill so quickly and how they can charge people for burned food. read more

They are so accommodating for allergies and such. They prioritize ingredient quality by means of using things like NON-Gmo & gluten free options whereas most places just prioritize bulk, cost cutting, taste etc without worry about quality.
