After reading many of the reviews online, I was a bit skeptical about trying this restaurant. I'm glad we did! For the price, the food was great. The only criticism (for lack of a better word at the moment) would be how well the staff payed attention to refilling the buffet. Food was worth the wait, but shortly after we got there a rush started and there was a lot of staff just kind of wandering around not really doing much. The staff was really friendly and our dishes were cleared almost as soon as we took our last bites. Honestly, the other customers actually kept this visit from getting the full 5 stars......people can be jerks when they have to wait 2 minutes for fried chicken! Well what can i say really. Typical chain style pizza place. The decor is cheesy and the pizza tasted vaguely like cardboard.

While I've had a couple of issues with management at one location, my experience at ten locations on over 30 visits has been excellent as far as food quality and value. The broasted chicken is outstanding. The salad bar and pizza are good. The dessert pizza completes the meal. Ignore the review slamming this restaurant. Ask around among your friends. Ate here a couple of times and the food was ok. Ordered $35.00 worth of food for pick-up and when I got it home found it to be $35.00 worth of trash. The chicken looked and tasted like it had been cooked in month old grease. I ate only two bites of it. Nothing was good. The mashed potatoes and gravy were cold, the biscuits burnt, the corn dry and tasteless. The potato wedges appeared to have been cooked in the same disgusting grease as the chicken - they were also burnt and tasted terrible. Called the store and no one answered even though they were open. Called again and I was put on hold then hung up on. I filled out there online survey describing how awful the food was. No one ever contacted me. I called their customer service twice and again no one followed up. Called their corporate today and they said they would have the store owners contact me. 2 hours later I got an email for a buy one get one buffet from the store. Worst food of my life, worst customer service I have ever had bar none. I tossed the coupon. I'll never buy anything from them again. Bottom line: DISGUSTING read more

Arrived at 7:30pm on a Friday night. Parking lot was pretty fulll, no line at the counter and the cashier was very friendly. That's where most of the "goodness" ended. There was multiple dirty tables and the only open tables seemed to be for large parties. We sat at a table for 10, just the two of us. Pizza was nothing great, I agree with the other reviewers on that. They did have a BBQ chicken pizza that was pretty good. Their fried chicken was really good....I would get that again, but I'd probably get a drive thru order. The dirty tables remained dirty until a customer looking for a seat asked if the space could be cleaned. That was disheartening...there were 6 tables in plain sight that were clearly vacated and ready to be cleaned, which were not touched in the 40 minutes we were there. If you are looking for good pizza and clean seating, this is not the place I'm afraid. read more

I too went in expecting way too much. I envisioned a big long buffet bar with several kinds of pizza's, NOT. Six pizza's on a little buffet cart, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy and succotash on another and an embarrassing salad bar with two of the containers on it empty. No cheese pizza for the kiddo's. We requested that they make one but by the time that we left, it still wasn't on the buffet. They clearly want people to order off of the menu. All that for over $10.00 per person! Save your time and money and go to another buffet if that's what you're after. Went here with the s.o. last week for dinner and was not impressed in the least. Salad bar is small, as are the two other buffet bars. It had two choices for salad, either a pre made Mederteranian or shredded lettuce like you would get on a taco. The other toppings were sparse but fresh, as another's review stated there were only two or three salad dressings. The pizza was just okay, I was able to help out a not that good taco pizza by using toppings from the salad bar. There were five other pizzas on the buffet, I tried a slice of a sweet Chile pepper Asian style and a slice of Supreme and neither impressed me. The chicken was actually really good! I think Chicken Ranch is a better name and would more accurately reflect what they do best. The staff all seemed like high school students but were very helpful and friendly. All and all I probably won't be back, at eleven + dollars for basically just chicken, it just isn't worth it to me. For what it cost for me and my s.o. I would've rather ordered Salvatore's and had something fresh and local. Oh well, you live and you learn, really wanted to like this place. I guess I was hoping for something more like Shakey's used to be. Oh, and the big ol' cross hanging right above the cash register is definitely making a statement of some kind. read more

pizza is ok the kids liked it more then the adults chicken was good had fried or bbq liked the mashed pototes snd gravy would much prefer regular not shreaded lettuce on salad soup was average liked the dessert pizza had good variety of flavors could use more then just vanilla ice cream overall an ok meal nothing special but not horible either under 40 bucks for 2 adults and 3 kids read more

We came here and it was fairly busy. The pizza was good, not great. The dessert pizza is fabulous. Very good salad bar. Options like fried chicken, potatoes, soup, and fries for the non-pizza eaters. If you want a flavor of pizza that you do not see on the buffet, tell a hostess and they will make it and bring it to your table! Great service. Not very clean on the interior, however. read more

We showed up 45min before the restaurant was closing. We had never been here before and when we arrived we were just starred at by the staff, like we knew what we were supposed to do.. Sit? Be seated? Order? No directions or a "hello, welcome, have you been here before?" The buffet was full, yet we weren't allowed to order from it. Yet when we were leaving, it was all still there. We were told that the soda machine was shut down, only after we were trying to use it... Where's the customer service here??? I know you close soon, but why make us feel so unwelcome? If you're in such a hurry to close up, why make us order from the menu and then sit and wait for the food to be prepared? We could've been in and out of there if we were just allowed to eat from the buffet. We ordered garlic cheese bread and two small pizzas, buffalo chicken and chicken bacon ranch. The food was good, so maybe this place could be okay if the management worked with their staff on customer service and closing operations. I think we'll try this place again someday, and hope for a better customer service experience. read more

Very great! Was immediately greeted. We came in late, so they were sweeping; so we tried to stay out of their way. They were very kind, and made our requested pizza even though it was about 10 minutes from closing. I've been to this pizza ranch multiple times before, and they do not disappoint. The food is ok not a big difference but there menu is confuse they said is chicken wings if u don't ask u don't know what they give u. The first time I went and got the party chicken wings plain and give me the hole wing and that basket is 16.99 them I came back today Rey to order the same thing an now there said That each piece of chicken is 1.89 so if u don't know the menu they change it the way they want and manager Tomas went u ask why ? He give u the look and treat u like piece of sh...t so if manager is unrespectfull and arrogant and looks like he's mad or so need to go to anger management to work with people and deal with people with that actitud u don't even feel wellcome and don't want to leave a tip pizza ranch get ur camaras inside so u can see how he treat the public not planning to came back until they learned some manner and learn how to listen to customers read more

The employees were all very friendly, helpful and willing to answer questions. Our group of four indulged in several different kinds of pizzas (all baked to perfection), thoroughly enjoyed the fried chicken with all the sides (delicious), and sampled the dessert (better than I had anticipated). Dirty dishes were quickly whisked off our table shortly after we stacked them off to the side. Food was disappearing fast with all the customers obviously as pleased as we were, but the hard workers replenished the food trays at a good clip. Our next trip there will be with 13 people in our group and we will get to use one of the rooms reserved for larger groups. Can't wait! read more

I really wanted to like this place because the owners are very nice. I've been here three different times and every time I regret it. First off, for the price of the buffet ($10 per person for lunch) there isn't much to choose from. There are very few pizzas out at once and every time I have been in, the pizza doesn't taste fresh and a couple of times was even cold. Also, the salad bar is a big disappointment considering the lettuce they provide is shredded. Last time I went to this location, we were told that if we had any requests for pizza we could let them know. After looking at the selection, we requested a pizza and she informed us that she thought there might be one in back. She went to the kitchen and immediately brought out a luke warm pizza that looked like it had been sitting out for quite a while. I would recommend saving a few dollars and going down the road to the Pizza Hut buffet which offers a better selection of pizza and has a good salad bar. read more

Go here all the time. The buffet is great. They do whats called "Buffet Your Way" where you can order any pizza you want and they bring it to our table so we can enjoy the first few slices and then put it on buffet for everyone else to enjoy. We have not found this at any other pizza place we have been to. We love the idea and how it works. I have read all the reviews and everyone here has got it all wrong. Every time we have been there they have lots of pizzas and cheesy ranch stix, broasted chicken, mashed potato's, a nice sized salad bar, soups, and a desert bar that has there famous cactus bread and a peach, cherry, blueberry, and apple desert pizza with soft serve ice cream and our soda was included for $10 a person that's great. Pizza Ranch is always busy and the staff is always bringing out new pizza's and keeping the buffet full. We just took our kids tonight and they now have the best Mac and Cheese pizza that my kids love, plus they have other items for kids like Mac and Cheese, chicken fingers, jello, and more. The last 2 times I have been there at around 12:30 on a Sunday there has been no chicken for 15-20 minutes. I don't go there for pizza, there are a dozen pizza places in Sun Prairie. I go there for chicken! The girls couldn't even fit all the pizzas on the bar, they just kept coming. Yet no chicken, barely any potatoes. I told 3 workers that there were no forks or spoons at the salad bar or forks at the pizza bar and yet none were ever brought out the hour I was there today. I could find no one looking like a manager in the place just tons of teenagers trying to clear tables running into each other. Customers were just standing near the chicken getting angry!!! Today was the longest wait for chicken and there have been nights that we have waited. I would think a Sunday noon time they would be making chicken double time. As soon as 1 tray was brought out it was empty in 5 minutes. I imagine it would be another 20 min. wait for the next customers who come through. I don't know why after telling 3 people they needed to bring clean forks out that NO ONE brought any out. POOR MANAGEMENT is all I can figure. I will be making fewer stops there. read more
