We have been to a lot of pizza ranches and this is by far the worst one ever. First of all I also talked to other customers from the area and they said that they never are ready for customers. I waited with my husband and grandsons for both pizza and chicken when we first got there, and we got there 20 minutes after they opened and they were not busy and I was told this is very typical. Never saw a manager and if they were there they did not do their job. Not only was there staff in the kitchen with long hair with no cap on but his hair was hanging. Also I heard a lot of playing around and saw soap bubbles being played with and 1 employee just on his phone. If you have just kids working nothing gets done. This is the worst Pizza Ranch I have ever ordered from, the manager Heather is the worstest person to deal with, horrible customer service they messed up two times on our order over the phone and has the audacity to tell me why don't I get off and order it myself there why even have the option for over the phone ordering then and instead of apologizing for their mistake for the second time she starts yelling at me and starts telling me to hold on and ends up hanging up on me ends up not answering my phone call after I keep trying to get her to make it right what the heck is she in charge for I am taking this to the highest level I'm going to go to whoever I have to that woman needs to get fired! We ordered a carry out over the internet. We were a little confused how to get there since it was dark and no signage by the road. Inside looked very clean and nicely decorated. Young lady up front ask our name and got our pizza. At our hotel we devoured our large pizza with pepperoni and sausage and an order of ranch sticks. Both were super good. Very mass produced taste. Tried pizza, crust was clearly mass produced like a Lunchables pizza. Chicken was OK, not good, not inedible but not worth the price. Ranch sticks are fine. Also not inedible if you're hungry. Just a very mediocre taste from what I got. It may have been a locational thing but it's probably like this throughout the franchise. Only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the customer service (inside pickup) was prompt and very nice. I don't dislike the location or service I received, just the companies food. Not bad. Always good chicken if it's available. We usually get there around 5:30 and hard to find food so it's a hit n miss trying to get what you like on your plate. People line up for the chicken and as soon as the first batch hits the pan, 5:50 or do, it's gone instantly and still more in line waiting for second batch. It has gotten much more popular since reopening at full capacity. I'm happy for the owner but really wish they would get here early enough to open the doors with food available for patrons! The gluten sensitive pizza was fantastic. I had to ask whether or not it was gluten free because it was the first time I have had a thicker, softer GF pizza crust. We are not diagnosed celiac, just gluten insensitive. read more

Yesterday evening we showed up with a group of 15 to 20 people and the lady at the front counter was super rude immediately off the bat when we walked in, and did not want to serve our group because there was so many of us, and the buffet was closing in about seven minutes. We would have been understanding however, as mentioned the gal was super rude and very offputting and that's not how you treat someone when they're coming into your store to give you their business. They would've made 100+ dollars off of our group and would've had plenty of time to throw pizzas in for us before the buffet closed down. I worked at Rapid City's Pizza Ranch for a year and it didn't matter what time the group showed up, even if it was one minute before the buffet closed down, we still served the group. That's how you get good business and good customers who continue to come back. We will not be back to pizza Ranch after a baseball game considering no one wanted to serve us in the first place. I got one leg one thigh two wings and a breast which I don't eat. Regular potato wedges and a biscuit. They are very chinsy with the Cole slaw a little cup with two bites. when I got there, there was one person working the register. He took off and disappeared after taking the person's order in front of me.vstood there for about ten minutes with no sign of any employee. We eat here one to two times per month and order delivery about the same. On this particular occasion there was good snd not so good. The front of house staff seemed more efficient in pickIng up used plates for sure and the Native lady was very friendly. The cashier was not very professional but I guess he did his job. Went for pizza round and only older sausage pizza and Tuscan something or rather which was new for me and by tHe way super delicious. But that was it. And when I wEnt back for another slice of the Tuscan what're it was, it was gone. Chicken and sides were pretty much empty mmmmm whole visit although they did bring a batch of chicken out, it was gone by the time I made a trip to the station. My 3 year old was screaming for desserT pizza but there was none to be had. We waiiyed for 15 minutes but none ever came out so we settled for soft serve anD called it a night. Do not visit this location. I came across several dirty dishes. When I brought it to the attention of the manager she was very dismissive and said that I was the only one finding these dirty dishes. Went here Friday night about 2 hours before it closed. We bought two buffetts. Found that both the pizza bar and chicken were near empty or gone for well over an hour before closing. What remained was stale and picked over. About 30 people were still in the restaraunt, despite the employees not filling the buffett. People were complaining, but it fell on deaf ears. The employees seemed much more interested in going home than working or explaining what was going on to hungry customers. We paid full price and had a salad and some potatoes. That's it. In terms of items typical pizza as well as fried chicken and rotating other styles of chicken. There is a soup of the day as well as a salad bar. The desserts are typical Pizza Ranch and are pizzaesque fruit desserts as well as soft serve. If you're looking for a family friendly place with lots of pizza then this will do, but if you want better quality and a more private experience you may want to look else where. read more

Part of me wants to give this 5 stars. It's a great place to get better-than-average pizza chain quality, and terrefic prices. I only eat there when I'm in Pierre on hunting trips, so I'm starving when I get in at night - which skews my perspective. I have to remember that I'm holding 5 stars for truly fantastic food, and this place isn't the French Laundry. But the pizza is very good, the buffet concept is great - they'll make any pizza you like and put it out on the buffet for you and everyone else to enjoy - it just takes 7 minutes. I got the "The Texan". It is a taco pizza. It is good, but I would recommend that they add more meat and less lettuce. The slices need to be bigger and/or the crust crispier. It's basically impossible to keep everything on the slice as you eat it. Good potential though. Hopefully they take my advice, and I'd be back often. read more
