DECENT CHEAP PIZZA ALERT!! :-D :-D :-D My husband and I were recently in the Clarion PA area on an escape-the-kids road trip long weekend. At the recommendation of our hotel desk clerk, we ended up at Pizza Pub for dinner one night. The dining room has a comfy warm throwback feel, with dark bricks, chunky wood chairs and a big roofed-bar. We came in at weekend dinnertime and were able to get a table right away, but there weren't many left. The pizza menu has a variety of basic and specialty pies, and any can be ordered in any size from mini to large. The mini is a bit smaller than a Pizza Hut personal pan. A small or a medium could be eaten by a single person, and a large is shareable by two or three people. The prices are great! If you want, you can order a variety of minis and/or smalls to try a variety of different pies. With the mini under five bucks, it is a low-risk investment to try something new you're not sure you'll like. My husband and I split a mini Pete's Pizza, which has a vinegar white sauce, extra cheese, and pineapple. As much as pineapple on a pizza is blasphemy, it was actually delicious! I particular liked the taste of the briny vinegar with the sweet pineapple. We also ordered a small cheese pizza for me and my husband had a medium anchovies pizza. I despise anchovies, so being able to order separate pies at a reasonable price, each ten bucks or less, was great! And the pizzas were pretty good! Sure, they're not the most decadent doughy pizzas ever, but for the value, the satisfying taste and generous enough portion is definitely there. In addition to our pizzas, I had a glass of wine and my husband had a fishbowl-bucket of draft beer, haha. Drink prices were very reasonable, as well. Our server was very sweet and attentive. All around, it was a great dining experience at Pizza Pub. When we're back enjoying the quaint Clarion PA area again, we'd surely come back for another round of pies! read more

I i've always enjoyed the food at Pizza Pub in Clarion PA today. I ordered a Stromboli and it was terrible. It had a lot of hot peppers on it melted cheese and I would say not even a piece of meat. I text the manager and he said the Stromboli never has very much meat on it. I said there wasn't even a slice of meat on it. It was just awful so I just warned you about going there and do not order the Stromboli cause you won't get any meat. The manager has offered to give me credit for another Stromboli, but I am not even gonna waste my gas to go get one read more

I never leave negative reviews, I worked in retail for 14 years, I know it's a thankless job. That being said, I called after picking up an order (an order that was read back to me with the right things) and stated my food was not made the way I asked for. What I got was a happy voice (Abby?) telling me "Let me talk to the cook". I then hear a conversation saying I never asked for my food to be made the way I asked and it was told to me and that I simply "changed my mind." After hearing Abby talk to the cook (Bennett?) and hearing them talk poorly about me I was told "Bring that food back and we will exchange it." I then mentioned to her I could hear the entire conversation which was met with an awkward tone and being told the food would be made for me. I then went to pick up my food, no one talked to me, until I made it to the door and the cook then proceeded to speak poorly about me again which had me stop at the door and be the one to say "Sorry" which was met with stares. I know the public can be tough but to be treated that way was beyond ignorant and I can honestly say between that service and driving of their delivery drivers I will never be doing business with Pizza Pub again. My family and I deserve better treatment, as does everyone who gives a business their money. I never was rude, I never raised my voice as so many do, I just wanted respect and my order to be made the way I asked and the way that was read back to me. Beyond disappointed. read more

Sometimes you just want a piece of Nostalgia! We were in the Clarion area and I was starving and thought pizza sounded good. Pizza Pub was close to our hotel so I checked their Yelp rating and their website. I like different pizza chain restaurants, but sometimes you want that Hometown taste that you grew up with. I saw the picture on their menu for Old Style Harry's Pizza. Immediately I had the feeling that this was what I was looking for!! You can buy it by the slice or get a whole sheet of pizza. Rectangle style like it was cooked on a cookie sheet. Hometown Pizza!! Today we get to enjoy pizzas with just about anything and everything on it! Which is fabulous! But sometimes you wanna go Old School.. And the toppings that came on this pizza were very simple - pepperoni, mushrooms , onions and green peppers. Yes!!! Even the way they were diced reminded me of the pizza shop we went to when I was a kid. When we got it back to the hotel it was exactly what I was wanting. It did not have that chain pizza taste - It was definitely a comforting home style pizza!! The one thing that was a worry is that when we went to pick it up no one in the restaurant was taking Covid measures. No one had on a mask anywhere in the restaurant. So that brought the experience down a notch for us. But as for the pizza, if you need a comforting nostalgic yummy in your tummy feeling- head over to Pizza Pan and get this pizza! read more

The COVID19 reviews continue...As a Clarion Alumni I enjoy visiting some of my favorite former food options during my returns to campus. My family and I made a pit stop here on a Thursday afternoon for a late lunch. When we arrived there were social distancing protocols put in place and all employees were wearing masks. Now onto the food...I had a meatball sub and they had a large pizza. As other yelpers have said the meatball sub is fantastic! The rest of my family was very happy with their pizza as they devoured all of it. Our waitress was very attentive. Prices are outstanding. My boys love coming here when we are in town but this time the customer service was horrible. No one acknowledged us, greeted us and maybe it's Covid fear but as a non white customer, I felt like a specimen at the zoo being gawked at and the wait staff simply ignore. One gal was so friendly to the locals but plain out ignored me multiple times. If I had thought this was good pizza that quality went way down because the help said "go away." Clarion has some of the worst food options in the US. If you aren't from the area, you'll realize that the standards are pretty low. Pizza Pub would be just average anywhere else, but it's one of the better options here. They have a speciality Ranch Pizza that is bacon, tomatoes and ranch, and it's pretty good. "Harry's Pizza" is a big deal to the locals. It's cheap and good but not amazing. This isn't the greatest pizza in the world, but they do have some unique options to chose from that make the pizza worth it. The prices aren't too bad either. The bacon cheddar fries are pretty good as well. There is an ok beer and wine cooler selection as well. My major complaint is that the restaurant is family style seating. So you're stuck sitting at a table for ten with people you don't know. I have no interest in chatting it up with other people eating there so I find it frustrating. Just make some two and four people tables and call it a day. read more

The Pizza pub has the absolute best pizza that I've ever had and I really like pizza. I mean who doesn't. Their dough is what makes the difference in their pizza. The texture is perfect, and the flavor is well developed. I also like fresh mushrooms on pizza and not too many places offer fresh mushrooms. They are mostly canned. Most of the time fresh mushrooms will get watery. Not at the pizza pub. Not sure how they accomplish that but it's delicious. All their other food great. It's almost like stepping back in time when visiting Pizza Pub. The furniture, paneling, and pictures haven't changed in the last 20 years, BUT the delicious taste of the food remains the same...and that's what matters. Yes, Clarion is a small town and food options are not plentiful (as other reviews point out), but the food at Pizza Pub certainly competes with similar restaurants in larger metropolitan areas. I have had the pizza, wedgies, and hoagies and they are all freshly made-to-order and incredibly tasty. Plus, you simply cannot beat the prices. Since I no longer live in the area, I only visit the restaurant when in town visiting family. Since the pizza is my preferred option, we typically tend to order a pie with pepperoni, sausage, and a few vegetables (green peppers, mushrooms). I love the spicy flavor of the sausage, the richness of the cheese, and the bite of the sauce. The wedgies are my second favorite...think hoagie/sub, but instead of a bun, the meat and cheese is wedged between pizza crust (one on top, one on bottom). It is a unique concept that I have not seen anywhere else, but is simply delicious. They offer a variety of options for wedgies, but I prefer the Italian or turkey. Regarding appetizers, the bread sticks are fresh, warm, and flavorful. I have also had the bacon and cheddar fries. To be honest, I am never a fan of loaded fries, but if this is what you are looking for, it is a nice option. The service is consistently good - hard working, no non-sense staff. Since it is some of the best pizza in the area, finding a table can be a bit complicated during peak times and there is really no place to wait (which makes it a bit uncomfortable). read more

This place isn't bad. We got the deep dish pizza (? I think? You have two crust options, thin (which is from frozen dough) or thick (made in-store)) and it reminded me of Domino's pizza. However I'd say it's a step up from Domino's, if only for the fact that I know I'm supporting a local place rather than a chain. It's really cheap, so that is a plus. We were only in Clarion overnight on our way home from Maine and I did not want the usual chain pizza place and wanted to support the local establishments. I am so glad that did as it was really good and they delivered to our hotel. We had some delicious wings that were cooked and spiced perfectly. Every time we are in the area, we have to go here. It's a great family business that works incredibly hard. They are attentive and just a hard bunch of young people working to give you a great experience. My favorite is the meatball hoagie! Hubby likes to make a personal pizza. We both recommend Pizza Pub. Also Brian and Linda Schill said it was a great place to We were just in for a quick dinner yesterday. This was our first time eating IN a restaurant since March. Every single employee was masked up...everyone. The sign on the front door said, "mask required" Customers all had their masks on as well. Tables were spaced apart according to CDC guidelines. I was traveling through town and stumbled upon this place. It was perfect. The service was very fast and the pizza was delicious. I had a traditional crust pepperoni and sausage pizza which was the best pizza I've had in a while. The server was excellent, fast, and courteous.
