Visited for lunch yesterday with my dad he had the Fish 'n' Chips I had a taste very flavorful and crispy great fries as well. I went with the special Papa Reis Tuna Patties and the housemade soda which was a white peach, lemon and mint. My biggest tip for you at Pidgin is if you see a special on the board order it! Absolutely loved the mtabbal went so beautifully with the sumac onions, cucumber. Couldn't stop eating the sauce!! Lots of seating inside and out. When you arrive there are menus for you to look at while in line. place you order and the counter and pay they'll give you a number to bring to your table. Staff is always friendly and helpful from the person taking your order to the team bringing the plates to your table. Dishes are imaginative, packed with flavor. Not sure how good I'll do at making my way through the menu cause I almost always order what is on the special board. Lots of parking near by, open and bright space. And not far from the water in case you feel like going for a walk after definitely will be back!

On my most recent visit, I also tried the black sesame bagel with butter. It was good, but there was a bit more butter than I would have preferred, and the standard toast wasn't quite crispy enough for my liking. That's an easy fix though, and I'll just ask for it toasted a bit longer and less butter next time. I really love the location of this spot and am hoping to check out their other location soon. They share a great outdoor seating area with Sea Wolf Bakers and also have a small amount of indoor seating. There's usually a line on weekday mornings and a longer one on weekends, but it moves surprisingly quickly, so the wait has never felt unreasonable. One thing I especially appreciate is how light these bagels are compared to some other Seattle bagel shops. They have a great chew without feeling overly dense. Service has always been friendly and efficient. I still haven't tried any of their fish sandwiches, but that's next on my list. Until then, I'm perfectly happy sticking with a classic sesame bagel and cream cheese.

The bagel was perfect and chewy and the smoked cod was also great. I love how they don't go too crazy on the cream cheese. There is a lovely outdoor seating area as well as indoor seating. Staff are polite.

I finally had the pleasure of dining in as there was a concert nearby and this one of the only places that would be open afterwards. We arrived 40-ish minutes before they closed and it was still busy in the restaurant with bar full of patrons and half of the restaurant had tables filled. The restaurant itself was gorgeous as it was dim but they had hundreds of candles on shelves as well as lamps throughout the restaurant. There was booth seating, bar seating and more. My boyfriend and I arrived and waited a few minutes before we were seated and handed menus. Our waiter on Saturday (8/8) was not only professional but hilarious. We ordered a strawberry lemonade for the two of us, a Buttermilk Fried Chicken Burger with bacon for him and I got their seafood gumbo entree and a side of their cheesy grits. We got our food and the portions here are huge. The food was immaculate. My boyfriend said this was probably one of the best fried chicken burgers he had ever had and that the bacon portion was more than any other place has given him. I was very happy with the gumbo and the cheesy grits were so good, it had a puree/whipped potatoes consistency which was delightful. The strawberry lemonade was tart and sweet with the right amount of strawberry flavor. Definitely want to come back to try more of their menu as they have quite the extensive menu and a brunch menu as well!

We made a reservation, but realized it was happy hour which is only in the bar. The hostess was nice, and got us a table in the bar when we inquired. The downside, honestly, is the ridiculous menu!!! I always have a tough time picking what to eat, but where there are 100 options, it really stresses me out! lol the happy hour is also very extensive. This isn't probably an issue for the average person- look ahead if it is. We ordered oysters on HH (amazing deal!), fried green tomatoes (ehh), gumbo (very good), fries (good), and Brussels (not bad, but I didn't like the sauce). We also ordered wine and a Mexican mule. I can't believe it's taken me so long to try out. I'll absolutely be back to more things!

I follow Sonrisa on IG and have been wanting to try their donuts for ages now!…read more My opportunity came today when they were doing a pop-up at the Lavender Harvest Festival at JB Family Growers in Woodinville!! The staff were super kind and friendly! I thought it would be a long line and sure enough, we beat the long lines! They did their pop-up at 1pm and surprised there was no line around 12:40pm so we were 4th/5th people in line. Whew! The line did grow behind us so it is popular! They had 4 flavors: - lavender lemon curd - taro mochi - pistachio sesame - passionfruit mango Out of all the flavors, the passionfruit mango was my fave! They weren't super sweet either and the texture from the taro mochi and pistachio sesame was unique! It wasn't just cream based like most donut/brioche places. They seem to rotate their flavors a lot on the season and such so it's not always the same flavors. Their Thai milk tea with sea salt cream was also a highlight! Not too sweet at all and the sea salt cream was perfect! I know they reside in Yakima now but it's always fun to see when they're back in Seattle! I can finally cross this off my list but when they're in town and I can make it, I'll definitely come back!

I loved the mango ones the best, but the taro was good too. Took them home and had them with a home made latte, in my new octopus mug I picked up from the fair. I also think it would be great to be hidden away in Jing's kitchen, and them pop out and eat them when still warm. LOL!
