I picked up a Too Good to Go dinner box and went home with my purchase. The following day I opened the box and found that the slice of veggie pizza had a bite taken out of the front of the pizza (see pictures). Really gross that this happened. This Pizza my Heart is conveniently located in a strip mall with plenty of parking and other businesses. It is possibly the smallest Pizza my Heart restaurant I have been to but the menu is the same and the staff were friendly. Being that it is smaller, wait times may be a bit longer. I ordered my pizza slices and drinks and was in and out in about 10 minutes. While they are smaller with less seating, the inside was clean. read more

It's wonderful to stand at the counter and purposefully not being engaged with by three members of the team. How did I know it was on purpose? I locked eyes with every one of them before I saw nothing but their backs. After forty five seconds I walked out. Unfortunately I didn't read the pizza choice I picked fully and got the Doheny Sweet Heat and boooooooooi when I tell you the ricotta cheese is STRONG on that pizza. Phew! This review is for multiple TGTG orders... Super easy check in process. Each slice runs about $6-$8. Theyre super generous with toppings and the slices of pizza are GINORMOUS. It's kind of small inside the establishment, but still worth enjoying a pie in. It's been a while since I've had pizza my heart. And I was in town and wanted to try it out. Went to the crow canyon location. Staff was not very inviting at all. Bunch of young kids more interested in talking with each other than treating customers or being friendly. As for the pizza. Was tasteless , bland and really not worth the time money it took to order. Big Sur - This pizza came with 40 cloves of roasted garlic, red sauce, pepperoni, sausage, portobello mushrooms and green onion. This was probably my favorite out of all that we ordered. I thought the pizza as a whole was really hearty, and had a really great balance between meat and vegetables. I would definitely order this again, for sure. Watsonville Apple - This pizza came with green apple slices, pepperoni, sausage, bacon, green onions, Gorgonzola cheese, olive oil and garlic. First time I saw this pizza, I was pretty skeptical as I really didn't know what to expect in terms of flavor. Also, I am generally not used to and am not really a big fan of fruit slices on my pizza (sorry Hawaiian pizza). However, it turned out to be a really nice pizza with a very balanced flavor. I couldn't really taste apple, and the Gorgonzola really elevated this pizza and added a unique flavor, and I thought the amount of gorgonzola they put there was perfect and was not too overpowering. Fort Point - This pizza came with light tomato and pesto sauce, Roma tomatoes, chicken, ricotta cheese, sausage, artichoke hearts, basil and some herbs. This pizza was delicious, but compared to the other two that we ordered, I would probably rank this at the bottom because the other two were far more superior and unique in my opinion. I've only been to the one in Capitola. I didn't realize there was one in my neighborhood! I called in my order and they said it would be ready in 45 minutes. We ordered the Cowell's Combo and a Heart Shaped Pizza. And because it's Valentine's Day, it came with a free shirt!!! The pizzas were GOOD! I loved the crust and the chew of the crust. It's not too thick and not too thin. And I love when the pepperoni curls! I wanted to give them 5 stars but our pizzas were cold when we picked them up. The box was sealed when I picked it up, so I didn't bother looking inside. When I arrived home, I was extremely disappointed and confused as to WHAT I was looking at. I ordered a normal PLAIN cheese pizza. How hard could it be? The pizza was laden with copious amounts of cheese (to the point of being disgusting) and only a "drizzle" of sauce going in circles around the pizza. Was it supposed to be a work of art??? I think they have it backwards. You coat the dough with SAUCE first and then "sprinkle" the cheese over it!!! The only customization I asked for was "thin crust" and they didn't even get THAT right. I've been to Pizza My Heart in Santa Cruz 41st and the original in Capitola, so I decided to give this place a try. The pizza doesn't seem to be the same, I'll have to pay more attention next time I eat in Santa Cruz. Maybe it the ocean and salt air. Maybe the whole experience meeting seaside makes it better. I ordered a slice of pepperoni and sausage, the crust was fine, the sausage was very like like 4 pieces, plenty of pepperoni.. But where's the sauce? It was just cheese on top of the dough. Ordered to-go and had no issues! We got two 14'' pizzas for 4 people which was a great amount: the D'Lex Chicken & Bacon Pizza and the Doheny Sweet Heat. The Doheny Sweet Heat was my favorite of the two. The ricotta was super creamy and the pepperoni added the perfect level of saltiness. I wish there was more honey as I barely got the sweetness. The peppers added nice texture! The D'Lex Chicken & Bacon Pizza. I thought this was a solid white pizza. I wish there was more bacon as there wasn't that much but the chicken and other toppings were great. Both pizzas were warm with crispy crusts. Let me go on record, I hate the name. Okay, I get the pun, "Piece of my heart", but it's lame and very chick-flick like. I mean, it's almost not fit for men! 25 locations, mainly in NoCal, against my wishes, they are taking over. Pizza, served whole, but the real difference-maker is that they have slices. For about $4.50-$5.50 for a very large slice, you can have cheese, one of their specials, or make your own. With a very thin crust, it was crispy on the edge, and loose and floppy in the middle -- New York style. The crust was just okay, and I didn't like the quality of my "combo" toppings. My Mom liked her za, so there you have it -- my MOM liked it. For me, I'd go again if I just needed to fill a small hole with one slice, and not for a night out for pizza.
