I came here on a weekday afternoon, hungry and ready for that special deal they have going on. $4 for a medium one-topping, $5 for a large. When I went in, no one was at the front to help. An older gentleman was eating with a younger one. The younger guy cleaned up, came up and helped me. They didn't have any pepperoni pizzas ready, but he told me it would only take 7 minutes to make one. So just as I was about to order one, the older man comes up, and says 'would you like to buy the pizza we have here?' And shows me a plain cheese as well as a Hawaiian style, I told him I preferred to get a fresh pepperoni. It's a strange place for sure. Ordering delivery it won't matter any which way, but when you go... you're in for some low brow kinda feelings. Nice guys, but for the price point, not worth the pizza. With a dough that tastes almost premade and a limited kind of toppings makes the pizza at Pizza Man very lack luster. The price for the pizza is kinda high also, but I'm noticing that's a trend with non chain pizzarias. I came here because they had more deals than the rest and seemed a little more unique than pizza pizza... though after the wait and after eating it, pizza pizza wasn't such a bad idea. When we parked, we were next to a man watching TV on his phone in with his door open in the spots in front, thought nothing of it other than we should lock the doors and get inside, just realize that it was one of the workers... I mean not that uniforms are required, but I did think it strange to take a spot in front to take a break when there are limited spots in the first place. Never lets me down. I've ordered from this location for over 20 years. Things have gone a little down hill since Covid. I used to order from here at least once a week and for under $20 I could get my favorite pizza, two sodas delivered. I always knew the delivery driver, and how long-it would take. My issue is the delivery from third parties. I tried to continue ordering after Covid in order to help the business, but it seems the store has gone to 100% third party delivery services, this has caused longer wait times, messed up orders. We used to go to the Pizza Man in sherman oaks, but that location has been long gone. I've been to this location a couple times. The dough is sooooo thick I was literally full after the second slice. My mouth was tired. The crust does not have a flavor and is uneatable. The toppings are substandard and have a cheap meat taste. This place wasn't good at all. Unsure how they got 4 stars to be honest. It's bland and the crust was doughy. Got a special that was two medium(possibly large) one topping I believe so we chose pepperoni on one and pineapple(yes, I like pineapple on my pizza because I'm smart). Visually it didn't look too great either and at that point I should've just not gotten it. My brother got their lasagna and it came with a side salad. The salad came in a small coaster sized container and was definitely just some regular ol ass lettuce. The lasagna was HELLA regular. If you could think of the most standard flavor lasagna and then make that sub par, that's what it was. With all that said, it's not a one star restaurant because the food was edible and the delivery was pretty damn fast so props to that guy. But delivery was also probably fast because they don't cook the pizza long enough or skip the seasoning process of cooking. So it's a catch 22 really. That's what this restaurant should be called. Well, I decided to order some hot wings and wanted to pick them up after work and they were on the way home so I ran with it. The deals are fantastic. I got a Large 1 topping pizza and 12 hot wings for $15ish. Great deal any day of the week, and you get some good portion of food. But the quality is lacking because of it. The wings were fine, and very hot. I would say they are good. Probably just a frozen bag thrown in the oven, but good. The pizza was horrendous though. My description should say it all: Cafeteria Food. No flavor, flat, and made me feel like I was eating lunch in 4th grade again. Honestly, I would not really eat there again. They have a pretty good looking menu, but for my first order I just wanted to try the basics. I ordered the medium pepperoni pizza and 12 wings special. The pizza was a little bland for my taste, but nothing a little parmesan cheese couldn't fix. Although they could've been crispier, the wings had pretty good flavor. Overall, for the price, it was a crowd pleaser at my family's movie night. I'll probably order from Pizza Man again to taste what they have to offer.
