I've lived in the area and been coming to this location for over 12 years. Wow! This place has gone downhill! Employees have attitudes. We came in on Thursday eve around 5:30. I asked if they could put a movie on because my 6yr old chose to come here as opposed to The Habit across the way just for a movie and pizza. The girl who did the pizzas stood and finished her conversation with her guy coworker about her trip to the Redwoods. She saw us standing there and ignored us until she was finished with her conversation. I asked her if she can put a lot of red onion because she barely put any. Her response was "I can put A LITTLE more". I don't get meat so a few more onions doesn't hurt anything. Then when we got to the cashier I asked if they could put a movie on. There were rotating ads showing on the TV. The cashier (who looked so unkept ) told me that they were told by management that they can't play movies anymore, only Pieology ads. She was snarky when I questioned why. The pizza crust tasted old, it had an old refrigerator taste to it. We will never come back here if they don't play movies. The two female employees need better customer service skills and need better hygiene , the cashier looked like she needed a good bath and a brush or comb for her hair. Dirty looking and rude. I got here and there was one person in line and I figured it would not take long so I pulled out my phone to check Grindr (as one does) and FIFTEEN MINUTES LATER the guy ahead of me is JUST NOW getting served. After making his pizza, they had to make two others! Why do I, a person who is standing in line, have to wait while they prepare two internet orders? I don't have a lot to say other than it was just an ok pizza. I was craving pizza and I decided to finally try out Pieology since it was close by and I've never been to one before. I typically just like a plain cheese pizza which is what I ordered. Sauce lacks flavor and is pretty bland. Lots of cheese on the 11" pizza which I'm not sure is always a good thing considering it's the thin crust pizza. Crust was nice and crispy. This restaurant allows you to make your own pizza! You are able to pick your ingredients and toppings starting with dough, sauce, and so on. They have a large variety of topping options! The place is clean and neat inside. The service is excellent so get your pizza within a few minutes made from a fire stone oven which gives it a great cook and crispy edges. It is a bit pricey but it is a large portion size. I recommend this location and its food. read more

I love how fresh & flavorful the pizza always tastes here & how many options there are to choose from. I went in late tonight so unfortunately they were out of a lot of their toppings but even with the shortage, my pizza still came out so good! Aesthetic wise the inside felt a little dim & outdated, this place could really use a revamp! However, service was friendly & helpful & the food did come out fast. We ordered 3 pizzas for dine in. They delivered only 2. I waited for the 3rd but it never came. I went up to ask for my pizza and they didn't know what happened to it? They obviously gave it away for a to go order. They wanted to make a new one but it was busy and my family was already half done eating. I asked for a refund and received $13. The cost of the pizza is $13 plus tax. That means I got short changed on my refund too. Last time I went here they were out of pepperoni. How does a pizza place run out of pepperoni???? We'll find another pizza place. Maybe Blaze Pizza will treat us better. read more

On a Monday there was only one staff person working the front. I think there was another that showed up when we were mid meal from a break or errand. But one guy was holding it down, taking the orders, making the pies and other dishes and running the register. A big difference from another pizza place with the same business model. There's no other options besides salad, calzone and pizza . So being in a group that would prefer some variety, this isn't the spot. The regular BbQ chicken pizza has no sauce on the bottom, just a brush of oil cheese, chicken and finished with a drizzle of BBQ. The crust is wafer thin and crunchy like a saltine cracker. There is a special Any 2 pizzas for $22 Salad greens were fresh, spinach or romaine are the choices for a base, then there are assorted veggies from the pizza topping one can add to dress it up. They did not have plain balsamic. Just a raspberry vinegar dressing, it was on the sweeter side. Service was slow, took about half an hour, but the worker was doing an amazing job as a one man band to crank out the orders. read more

my boyfriend and i were having a really great day and we figured a way to celebrate was to go to pieology. we drive from across the valley for this place because we love customizing our own pizzas. id give this place 5 stars any other day i have come, but tonight this place ruined my entire mood and ruined my appetite. we walk into the store where not many people are physically present waiting for a pizza. it is just 1 guy working at the moment. he sees both my boyfriend and i and continues to put trash bags in the trash bins. he washes his hands. he takes 2 pizzas out of the oven and puts them both into boxes with seasoning packets. he goes into the back and starts talking to someone. he hands the pizzas over to 2 customers that were previously there. then he moves a pizza that was in the oven. then he greets 2 people that just walked in and starts helping them out. he washes his hands again. then he puts on gloves. FINALLY he acknowledges us. starting off i did not like how we were not immediately greeting or given an apology for the wait. we waited a good 5 minutes for this guy to say "what can i get you." again no acknowledgment of us being the only customers in line and not being helped out for 5 minutes. finally another employee comes out from the back. this guy tells her to make our pizzas, so he can literally do NOTHING. off the bat i feel bad the lady employee. she starts making our pizzas and i can already tell she was being very stingy with the ingredients, not putting enough of anything. we are being polite and asking for extra toppings as we usually do. my boyfriend is at the end of making his pizza and is asks if they have more ham as him and i both can see it is very empty and not to mention, very cross contaminated with other liquids, a couple pepperonis, just very unappealing. they dont have more ham so my boyfriend has to settle for the ham they have left. i would also like to mention my boyfriend is very particular on his pizza, same ingredients everytime we go pieology, understandable. he asks the lady to not get the other ingredients inside on top of his pizza. the lady puts the ham on his pizza. its honestly crazy how many times you are ordering a pizza and asking for EXTRA everything. he asks for more ham and the lady is saying she can only give him 2 more slices (the pizza literally only had 5 pieces of ham). i would like to point out that these pizzas get cut into 8 slices and thats not even 1 ham per slice. i am honestly getting pretty sad because of the way they are being towards him. he asks if she could put the last couple slices of ham on his pizza and she starts refusing. there is not enough ham to put on another pizza which is absolutely insane. my boyfriend tries asking nicely again and she says no. i am now watching the useless man employee walk up to look at my boyfriend pizza. at this point we start to feel uncomfortable as he was not asking for much to begin with. my boyfriend and i are loosing our appetite at this point and he tells her that they are going to lose our business if they cant put the rest of the ham on the pizza. the man employee, who really needed to mind his own business, speaks up for the lady and tells us to leave, as if we werent already about to. that right there is what really made us have no more appetite. the man starts to say smart remarks to us, which has me in shock. i spoke out and started to complain about the poor service we experienced once we entered the store. i told him how he did not greet us, did not apologize for the wait, and how he helped out other customers that arrived after us. he kept telling us to leave which was very unprofessional of him to do. you have 2 customers who are clearly upset and about to walk out and 2 almost finished pizzas now getting thrown into the trash (verbatim what he said) WHAT A WASTE, AND YOURE TELLING US TO LEAVE? unapologetic, ready to start a fight, and adding more fuel to the fire is how i would describe this man. we told them both that we would write a yelp review. i am not as much mad at the lady as i am mad about the man. how do you hire careless, useless, fire starting employees like this? it blows my mind. we left the place with no pizza, no appetite, less gas in my tank, and lots of anger towards this dude. he would not even give us his name, thats how you know they did/said something wrong. id gladly spend another 30minutes explaining why someone needs to be fired for such bad customer service. what an ugly person. i really do feel bad for the lady that has to work with him, literally telling her to do the job he shouldve done 5 minutes ago to begin with. makes me not want to eat here again UPDATE: the male employee responded directly to my yelp review, which i consider harassment. just posted this, it was like he was checking for the review i told him i was going to write. this is what he said: "I was there! and i believe you are racist and don't return" even threatened me not to return read more

Ate here last night in the evening. Good customer service communication from the well-mannered, Paul when addressing our questions while adding the sauces and cheese to the two pie doughs. Chris did a fantastic job cooking the pizzas without burning the crusts or bottom. He also too the time to deliver the pizzas to our table, which typically doesn't happen in past dine-in experiences. -1 star for not keeping the toppings area nice and neat. They need to be on top of keeping excess food spillage from going into others to ping or in between the containers. read more

Love the pizza, not the service... they closed the Piology in SCV and Porter Ranch so we headed to this location on a Sat. 4:30pm on our way somewhere. The staff was filling many online orders in between all the in person customers, and only had 2 workers making the pizzas, so it was taking a real long time to get to us, around 20 minutes waiting our turn in line. The staff didn't seem happy to be there and was moving VERY SLOW, with absolutely no urgency to get through the busy and increasing line of customers. (I always taught my kids manners, to be kind, eye contact, and to give 110% to their jobs, but these days, more and more I run into poor work ethic and and bad customer service). No one greeted us or smiled or made much conversation as they helped us, until, after waiting at the cash register for quite some time, a friendlier lady finally rang us up. As far as the pizza...it seems they discontinued a few toppings and the staff is a bit sparing with their portions of sauce and toppings, but they will put more if you ask (I'm sure in this economy they try to cut back on the costs wherever they can, but they aren't cheap)... but the pizza was good! (and their cookies are delicious too!) Would I go back?...I would give them another chance, but if the service doesn't improve I wouldn't go as often as I'd like. read more

I had a build your own. added all sorts of veggies and the dough was gluten free. im happy to see that their product quality remains the same, guaranteed fresh! customer service was great! the staff were all prompt! after my arrival they did get a rush and they managed it very well. the location was presentable and clean which is important. Great place for bigger groups as there are tables next to each other to seat a larger crowd. Limited menu, which is fine with me. Like the choice of ingredients, prices are reasonable. I got the calzone. You get 5 topping for $11.99. Not a bad price, it was pretty big. The downside is it's freezing cold in there, take a sweater. If you're with a group, service can be a bit slow, so anticipate a little more time. read more

Sadly, I will not be coming to this location because it's not well staffed and the pizzas are left in oven. 1-2 employees trying to do it all. No wonder their energy and friendliness is so low. I recently visited Pieology and was quite disappointed. While I understand that raising prices might be necessary, shrinking portion sizes alongside the price hike is unacceptable. When making my pizza the cheese only covered 3/4 of my pizza so I asked for more and they said it'll be 79cents. Will never come back here again. Disappointment starting from the service to prices and the taste and presentation of the pizza. They charge a dollar for ranch, buffalo, and pesto sauce but it's free if you put it on the pizza? I picked up two pizzas yesterday from this location. They were both good but seemed a little small compared to previous orders. I know they're supposed to be 11" but can shrink during the cooking. I actually got out a tape measure for fun and noticed they were more closer to 9.5". Everything else was good but probably won't be coming back to this location since there are other locations in Northridge and Porter Ranch, as well as other shops that haven't been hit this hard with shrinkflation. read more

This place has gone down the tubes, we used to love going there because they were fair with ingredients but last couple of times they told me they could not put anymore even after I offered to pay for extra toppings. This place is very close to CSUN, so usually place is packed with customers. Last night was no exception, but no matter how busy they got, Jennifer and Carlos had a smile on their faces, were patient and made every pizza that we got with extra care. And I have pictures to prove lol place is roomy and bright, enough sitting places that lots of people would feel comfortable. Choices, toppings and sauces are just really good. They have different pizza doughs, from original thin crust to cauliflower and gluten free. We got four in total, I was glad they added calzones now, my favorites. Each of us got that amazing garlic butter herb sauce, gooey mozzarella cheese, we went little exotic and added feta cheese, artichoke hearts, garlic, sun dried tomatoes and of course tons of meat lol my calzone was super delicious with the side of pesto sauce that tasted so amazingly fresh. 4 orders with all of our toppings came out to about $55, which I thought was good. this complaint is for the business owner GLORIA. previously had a bad experience with one of the employees. but after the experience i had today, i understand why they hire rude people. its because of who they hired as the business owner, Gloria. i did not have a problem with her but it seemed like she had one against me. the employee who was very rude to me last time was there and i requested him to not make my pizza. he stayed in the back the entire time i was there after that. he went up to the business manager and said "this is the one i was telling you about." she decided to take my order. i did not have a problem with her at all, only the guy that was previously about to touch my pizza, but it seemed like she had a problem with me. it seems like this pieology everyone has each others back and ignore customer complaints. the guy downplayed it as in i was the problem in cussing at him, when in reality he threatened me after i wrote my previous yelp review. i did not even bother explaining and complaining about the situation that happend last week because now i understand why rude employees get hired, its because the business owner Gloria herself is also rude. i watched her make my pizza very poorly and roll her eyes multiple times like she couldnt wait to finish my pizza. she put on very little toppings and complained when i asked for a little bit more. i asked for extra chicken and she goes "we dont put extra". she grabs one small handful and throws it on the pizza. i asked her for a little more and theres now 3 additional tiny pieces of chicken on my pizza. i asked one more time to put on more chicken and she complained after putting more on saying thats all. as i am in the middle of ordering my pizza, the woman working register starts going "is that everything" and i said "yes?" im literally still asking for more toppings and i have another pizza to get to. she then says my total and i completely ignore her. she then walks away in the back with the guy employee LOL wonder why. the business manager did not even make a comment to her employee being rude right in front of her. I went to order a small pizza for my granddaughter like I've in the las few months this afternoon. To find out that now, they have a NEW pressing machine to make the actual pizza bread crost; however, this machine sure presses the dough good & EXTREMELY THIN. So thin that a sheat of paper could b thicker. My granddaughter just wanted cheese on her pizza & the lady making the pizza, was spreading the cheese so carefully, like she didn't want to have 2 drops of cheese touch each other. Even when I request for her to add more cheese, she barely spread more, having some many spaces on the pizza with no cheese. Geo made a delicious gluten free pizza full of veggies for me. I traveled a distance to get here but all worth it. I'm always hunting down gluten free pizza bases due to allergy to gluten.
