Second time here. First time several years ago was not a pleasant experience, but I like to support local. We got there at 11:15 they open at 11:00 there were no pizzas so we had a little salad while we waited. The salad bar was good and you have lots of choices. Once the pizzas started coming out they didn't stop they put out a great variety and made us a taco pizza when we asked for one. In addition to pizza they put out fries and chicken tenders which were delicious!! Surprisingly the spaghetti was decent too. I love the retro memorable of this place some people complain on here about it , but if they updated the place it would take away the past memories for a lot of folks. As a matter of fact a couple came in and I heard her tell the waitress that "this place brings back so many wonderful memories". Our waitresses was nice and hustled she was the only waitress there. I ordered a take and bake taco pizza as I live 50 min away, disappointed is an understatement. I asked twice for extra onions and salsa,on the phone and at the window. Got none. The toppings I did receive with my order were not edible (I put everything in a cooler bag for the ride). I have tried over the years to really like PL but I can't seem to get over the sticky tables and 40 year old decor. I typically like to get the buffet but on occasion I have got the pizza. It is better if you get it to order, but the buffet is acceptable. The best thing they have are the fries! Which is funny because it's a pizza place. For pizza I would try some place else, but I don't have a suggestion because they keep closing around Sumter before they can succeed. read more

i have gotten pizza from here for years. I bought two large pizzas and one small tonight. To say I'm disappointed is an extreme understatement. It was dry and hard. My mouth is sore after eating this. I called to ask the manager who made my pizza. She snickered "one of the girls". REALLY??? Mr. Lane you need to fire whoever the female manager was tonight. I don't know that I will ever be back. To snicker while a good customer is registering a legitimate complaint is beyond belief. it's an excellent was to lose customers. read more

I was in Sumter for the first time ever this past Friday. Being Catholic and not allowed to eat meat on Friday led me to the lunch buffet at Pizza Lane. I was greatly impressed with the wide variety of pizzas offered at the buffet, the salad, and the spaghetti. A special shout out to the wonderful service I received from Ashley, who was working the buffet and the register. I mentioned in passing that I was unable to eat meat, she immediately offered to cook me a special vegetarian pizza. The pizza was put out in the buffet within 15 minutes, and it was delicious. Would highly recommend Pizza Lane to everyone, and wish to thank the management for hiring such a consummate professional as Ashley. Next time I'm in Sumter I will be back! read more

Tried their individual pizza with tomatoes, pepperoni and mushrooms and it was one of the best pizzas I've ever had! Their fries are fantastic as well! I called to place a pick up order and the employee taking my order was very polite. Will be eating here again for sure!! read more

We came here with friends and had a great time. The place has multiple theme rooms, all with pretty eclectic decor. Our waitress was great and didn't mind us staying for 2+ hours. The food was pretty good and prices even better. It's definitely not fancy and they even have a drive-thru, but it's good for something different in Sumter. read more

Pizza lane is a Sumter staple. Formerly a Pizza Inn franchise, Pizza Lane was changed in the mid or late 1990s to have a bit more local flavor. For kids, there are big screen tvs, arcade games, and a coin operated horse. Of course, there's also delicious pizza, and they have little cups of soft serve with chocolate sauce for dessert. Do not go to Pizza Lane without ordering the fries. They are excellent. For a little sampling of everything, go for the lunch buffet. I used to love coming here when I was a kid because I got to watch Looney Tunes cartoons on one of the tv's here and eat pizza. They have added a lot of older decorations inside that, in my opinion, gives it a great atmosphere inside. And they still have two rooms where you can sit and watch those classic Looney Tunes cartoons while you eat. The pizza here is really good. They have a pizza buffet on Tuesday nights also that is really affordable and a great chance to taste a large variety of the pizzas that they serve. If you have children I would definitely recommend taking them here to eat, as my kids love coming here. read more

Flat out: not good pizza. The atmosphere is different and maybe considered fun. Not bad for groups and great for kids but just bad pizza for anyone else. The problem is there aren't very many other places around to compare it to so many people think it's great. Kind of a Sumter staple, Pizza Lane would be way better if they updated their menu. It used to be the best pizza place in Sumter pre-Covid. Since June 2020 the quality of the pizza has dropped drastically. This place has been our Friday night spot for months, but the last two Fridays have been horrible. First time, ordered a nacho pizza and all the toppings were piled on two slices of pizza and the rest of the pizza was just cheese. Today ordered the taco pizza. We went Wednesday for open mic night and it was good a place in Sumter hosts an event for entertainment. But we were disappointed in their selection of beer and wine. They had a Fat Tire neon light but only served Bud Light or regular Bud and Franzia White Zin and Chardonnay. The food smelled good but we ordered hummus and it was obviously store bought and not served properly. Oh well. The decorations are also annoying. read more

The Mrs. and I shared the Special Combination thin crust pizza this afternoon and it was awesome! Wait staff was very friendly and courteous and the cost was reasonable at $15.05 for a large pizza. There are a variety of offerings on the menu from Fried Calamari with apricot cilantro sauce to Gyros to subs, pork chops, and even steaks! We will definitely be returning! read more

The place is neat because of it's interior decor. Service is good. The pizza has something to be desired. The fries are real goood. The owner is a butt munch. I thought I would treat my 6 grandchildren to a lunch buffet. Only working a 32 hour work week I don't have alot of money so I brought my own drinks. Asked for cups of ice, price quoted was .49 cents each. No big deal. Went to pay and saw sign on counter that said cups without drink .20 cents. Asked dirt bag owner about it and he would not honor the sign. The middle finger to you Billy "charge to much" Lane and your crappy pizza and crappy chicken wings. Very disappointed. Went for the buffet. Got there 30 min before it ended. After we started to eat I asked it they would be bringing out any more pizza. Was told no and that they would not make us a fresh pizza. We had five of us eating. The food was old and not much left. Other customers came and left as they would not even bring out some salad mix. While the food, particularly the pizza, is bland, the nostalgic decor is fascinating! It is a beautiful tribute to Sumter, and is the perfect location for a party of any type, be it for an adult or a child! Absolutely horrible!!! Their concept of New York pizza is totally off and they tell you they have "New York Style Pizza." I got their thin crust and it was disgusting! Very little sauce. Disappointing! Some friends and I ordered lunch and had it delivered. We got the sampler which is an assortment of Greek items and the spinach pie and cheese pie were missing. When I called and asked about it they said they were out of those items so they just gave us more of the other items. I think they gave us more pita bread and pepperoncinis. We were all very disappointed. They should have told us they were out of the two items instead of just giving us more bread.
