place should be out of business. psst year plus has been a steady decline. they never want to take orders over the phone (lazy staff). the days of carry out specials listed on the counter are long over. mention the store doesn't have prices. they push you to order online. limited staff; always a turnover. used to order 1-2 times a month. past year maybe ordered once. tired to order several times, but the above reasons make it impossible. staff is lazy and probably doesn't want to make pizzas. hourly paid, so they have no drive. zero cars and zero pizzas waiting to be picked up, and right next door is Pizza Hut-- phone ringing off the hook. pizzas waiting to be picked up. cars coming and going. friendly staff. for years papa John's was the goto! Pizza Hut was close to last. now Pizza Hut is the goto for spontaneous orders. whoever owns this papa John's is losing moneys doubt they will renew the lease when it's up for renewal. read more

A lot of these reviews are 1 star'd. I would have to disagree. They whooped up my order crazy quick. I got there a little early before my order was completed and in the kitchen they were coordinating with one another flawlessly with the pizza creation. I order from Papa John's all the time. Tonight was awful. I ordered my pizza at 650pm and after 9pm I still havent received my delivery. So I decided to call the store to see what was the delay. They would not answer the phone. I called back to to back with no answer. So I drove to the store to get my pizza. When I got there my pizza was just coming out of the oven and they acted like it was no big deal. They refunded me for the delivery charge but when I got home and opened it this is what i found see included photo. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The employee that I talked to gave me an attitude because I told her that I don't live on base and they could send a driver. She cancelled my order. They always come to my house. But apparently I gave her an attitude and she didn't want to put up with it lol. I've tried carry out at this location twice now. Each time the pizza wasn't ready anytime near the expected time. The first chance it was 40 min late. The second time the pizza was supposed to be ready in 15 min, but was 20 an additional minutes. Despite the sign on the door demanding customers wear masks, 5 of the 6 employees that I saw were not wearing a mask. The pizza itself was mediocre based on typical Papa John's expectations. Ultimately, I'll be traveling farther to go to the Guignard Dr location from now on. The Guignard location is always busy when I go, but they always have the pizza ready on time. read more

I love papa johns pizza and since they are more expensive from other pizza places, having a military discount keeps me coming back. Apparently that has been taken away! So I will be limiting how often I actually get papa johns pizza now! A lot of the times the service that is provided can be sketchy and the employees are often times rude. Called today to place an order for 2 pizzas at about 5:40pm. Waited only about 20 seconds before they picked up. Very politely was asked to hold for a couple more seconds. The female whom I talked with was so polite and engaging! Normally talk with a male who is polite as well, but this woman went above and beyond typical phone order! So sorry I forgot her name! My husband and I ordered from this Papa John's on the night 17th of January 2019, which is a Thursday. We ordered from the app and the estimated time of delivery was 28-38 minutes; no big deal, right? After waiting an hour, my husband called the restaurant and after a few minutes waiting on the phone with the company's automated service, the line finally rang and no one answered. So my husband called three more times until someone answered. The employee said they were swamped and it would be another 30 minutes. Swamped? In Sumter, SC on a Thursday? I didn't know the Beatles were playing in town. Anywho, we waited for another 35 minutes (wanted to give them their allotted time) and we called back. When they answered, nobody could locate our pizza. After 2 hours and 10 minutes we finally got our cold pizza. I was lasting out hope that they were really making the pizza awesome for us but it definitely tasted 2 hours old. Lastly, no one apologized. The only thing I'm frustrated with in this whole ordeal is if you are busy, give the customers a heads up your pizza isn't going to be 28-38 minutes but in reality is going to take 2 hours and 10 minutes.
