This location is working hard to change the past and make a delicious slice the whole family will love.

This McDonald's wants rather badly to be a coffee shop, I think. There's a TV (always muted with…read moresub-titles) with a couple of arm-chairs, and several tables and booths meant for larger groups. Due to its proximity to several apartment complexes, its usually jumping-busy with very elderly folks crammed in around said tables. Men on one side, women on the other, staring at the other customers and gossiping among themselves. (Makes me a little uncomfortable sometimes, to tell the truth, as none of them ever appear to be eating anything. I think they need a clubhouse!) The food is fast and always fresh, never too much sauce or too-smooshed of a bun. The bathrooms are odd, sporting a hand-drying and a hole where the paper towels are supposed to go. I was actually scolded by an employee once for asking about them (not to mention the spray bottle of chemicals someone had left on the sink-counter). Apparently they're being phased out, but no one has bothered to take the unit down. For those that have a Nintendo 3DS, this is a Spotpass hotspot during the college-semester times (given that this place is sandwiched between two busy colleges here in Northfield), sporting an average of 6 spot-passes per visit during the busier times, 2-3 during the summer months. I have scratched my head a few times at the un-attentive wait-staff. Usually there's supposed to be at least one person manning the register at all times-- I feel rude to bang on the counter and shout "service!" to the poor kitchen staff that are doing their jobs (rather well, I might add). During non-busy times you can be left standing there, on occassion. The drive-through service is fast, friendly, and everything you could ever ask for in a McDonald's. Though their no-doubt fierce rival, Culver's, is across the street, this place has no peers when it comes to speed and accuracy of service. I have never once had an order messed up or incorrect, thanks to their little LED thing by the speaker in the drive-through. TD:LR: It's a McDonald's. Average and clean inside, quick and correct drive-through outside. No complaints to speak of, and nothing to make it stand above the others. Perfectly fine place for a quick bite. :)

I'm done here. I get it that it was 9pm and it was getting late, I guess (drive open til 11) but I…read moreget my order and if it weren't for the coke that came with my meal, this would have been like taking a match to a $20 bill. It was not clean inside as there were dirty tables all o er the place. My "large fries" were about half full. This place is a joke after about 7pm.

Full order of fries.

McDonald's - Smh I would've been better off buying a small. What's the point in the container if it's not going to be filled all the way :(

Having recently moved to Northfield from St. Paul, I am on a quest for good quality food that does…read morenot come from a huge restaurant chain. I was pleasantly surprised by Tacoasis. The place is tiny; don't expect to be eating inside because there is only a counter with no stools/chairs. There are tables with umbrellas outside. The prices are great though and the menu is pretty big. Hours are a plus as well; 11am to 10pm daily?! Nice. (In St Paul most decent places closed their doors at 9pm.) The best part is the kitchen is 100% visible while you're standing at the counter. You watch your food being made every step of the way and you can see how spotless everything is. As far as the food goes....I'm a fan of the soft tacos and the tators, but was not impressed with the rice (it was a little gummy and the seasoning was...strange.) This is on my list of favorite lunch spots for sure. I'll be returning to continue to explore the menu soon!

Been living in Northfield now for a couple years... always driven by... never actually stopped…read more Today seemed like a good day to give it a try. It's a cute little place that's easy to access and drive around. They have quite the menu, however given the title is "Tacoasis", I had to try the tacos. If it were "burritoasis" I would have got the burrito cause it in the name, right? (Haha) Anyway... got the tacos and hustled to my next meeting. The guy working was awesome, super friendly! I got the tacos, and gotta be honest I was a little disappointed. The tacos are $2.99. Taco Bell is at $1.99. There wasn't much of a difference in taste, but these tacos were smaller than I imagined. I was hoping that the additional $1 would have separated the tacoasis taco from that of Taco Bell. So, that's why the rating... for now. I definitely want to give it a shot again with a different item. Well give the burrito a shot next time and I'll update the rating and post! Until then, it's not a bad little spot.
