Leftover pizza, a bit overcooked, but bleeding oil everywhere.
Josh Z.

I decided to try their new location on Owatonna on my way south of the cities and I will not be back. This is one of the worst fresh pizzas I have ever had, without exaggeration. I need to watch my sodium and pizzas from everyone are normally high in sodium. If I can taste it, it's too high. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger pizza (I know not the wisest choice) and it is the saltiest pizza I have ever had in my life, with a side of the saltiest pickles I have ever had. The pizza probably wasn't cut well because it reformed again before I could get home into a glob. The pizza itself didn't hold together well, with the cheese and toppings wanting to slide off the crust. And it's extremely greasy, more noticeable as leftovers watching the oil bleed out. Why not 1 star? I didn't get food poisoning and the flavor was decent. Somehow I do believe a good pizza could be made, but they would have to change a lot.

Best pizza in town!!

I enjoy this pizza. Crust is nice and thin and sauce is tasty. Spicy sausage is good.

The pizza was done very well. Classic Minnesota style pub pizza. The sandwich my girlfriend got was also delicious. Highly recommended.

Sometime soon I'll have to go back and just get that and some wine. However I'd be hard pressed not to order what I had tonight. Fantastic little spot with incredibly warm interior. The schtick really adds to the experience. Great staff were very thoughtful. Not something you run into much anymore. Thoughtful. 5/5, I highly recommend.

Also important to note, they close at 8 PM. It's decorated like a true family style place, cute flowers and colors and light fixtures. The service is friendly, but if you are in a hurry, they are not. They bring olive oil and herbs to the table with homemade bread to start which is an extra touch I think most restaurants have stopped doing. They did offer any pasta dish to be made with gluten-free penne. My pasta dish was tasty and warm but the meat was sparse, and though the prices seem fair, I would say all around this was an average experience. I can see how this could have sentimental value to people who live in the neighborhood, and I do like to support independent restaurants so I'm glad we tried it, but if you are a true foodie and if you are looking for great Italian, I don't think this is the spot.

Ciao Bella - Gives context between size of the "large" order of lasagna and the plate it comes in. The serving is small.

We arrived a little early and had the pleasure of sitting at the side bar with JP -- and he was absolutely fantastic. Warm, charming, and genuinely interested in what we enjoy drinking. I could have happily stayed at the bar all evening. Once our table was ready, we were served by Madison, who was equally amazing. She helped us choose dishes we'd love, and her recommendations were spot‑on. We were seated at a cozy little table by the window, which made the whole evening feel even more special. I highly recommend Ciao Bella for date night or really any night of the week. And even if you're just stopping in for a cocktail, go see JP -- he'll make your day.

Service was attentive without being overwhelming, and the whole dining experience felt smooth and relaxed. With plenty of parking and consistently good food, Ciao Bella is definitely worth the visit. Highly recommend!

The bolognese sauce was oddly sweet but was still bland. The Cajun pasta special didn't have any spice to it. Our server was nice and fairly attentive. The meal was a bit surprising since it seems like a lot of people like this restaurant. Just really wasn't wowed by this place.

We had purchased some gift cards for this restaurant at Costco (amounts to a 20% discount if I…read moreremember correctly) and decided to come here to use them. We scored a 1/2 price bottles of wine (a Tuesday special), so our savings were multiplied! The vibe in the restaurant is warm with all of the wood tones. Our waitress was pleasant and welcoming, and was helpful when I inquired about what was popular on the menu. She steered me towards a dish I hadn't had before, Chicken Andiamo, which was absolutely delicious! A lightly breaded chicken filet served with capers and a creamy sauce was fantastic, but for me the star was the side of vegetables (which were cooked to perfection). I can't quite figure out how they were prepared, because I think they were described as roasted, yet they were al dente like when you've had a perfectly steamed veg that is cooked but still crisp. However it was accomplished, I'm a fan. My partner had a perennial favorite, spaghetti and meatballs. We finished with tiramisu, another favorite of mine. We had a great meal! Sometimes when it's cold and dreary out, a comfort meal like this is what you crave.
