The waitress was on a stool smacking her gum and took our order, then turned the bill pad around for me to pay. It had tip options, and I gave a tip. After I paid, I realized I was charged a fee for using a credit card. There were not many people in the restaurant yet, and someone did bring our food to us. However, we had to get up to refill our drinks across the restaurant. After we got home, I got an email from my cardholder that the amount I was charged was increased, but with no explanation. Our meal was$49.99 and we had two teas. I was billed $74.91. I cannot find the receipt, but my tip was not a lot. We returned a couple of days later for dinner. My sister paid this time. We had another family member with us and ordered A LOT of food. It took a while for the food to be prepared and we had to go up a couple of times to get the food because it wasn't ready at once. Again, we had to get up a few times to refill drinks. We will return, but I will be paying cash. No tip and no charge for using a credit card and being charged for something else days later.

For the main, we shared the fried catfish. It was just okay. The strips were pretty thin and didn't have much to them. Not bad, but nothing that stands out or makes you want to come back for it. We sat outside, which was nice, and the whole visit was quick. In and out without any issues. Overall, decent spot for a casual bite, but based on what we had, it's more of a one-time stop than a must-visit.

The chicken was incredibly tender and not dry at all. I try think maybe it's been brined in buttermilk overnight. It didn't even need the gravy, which I ordered on the side (I highly recommend that). Then I could dip and use just a small amount of gravy. It's an interesting dish, almost like the chicken was cooked in the dressing like a casserole. I have no idea how they did it. Very tender and easy to eat. Comfort food. Great greens. Good sweet potatoes (a little on the sweet side for me, but most people will love them, and they are very tasty). My dinner partner had chicken fried steak with greens and mashed potatoes. CFS was excellent, tender and crispy. Good cream gravy. Good standard mashed potatoes. There was a bit too much salt in several things for my taste, including the chicken gravy and the greens. Both were very flavorful but personally I would cut the salt for both. That's just me. But if you are sensitive to salt you might avoid those particular items or eat sparingly. Peach cobbler for dessert. Also Google will tell you they close at 4pm on Sunday. Not true, they're open until 8:30 pm Sunday.

They stayed on top of the water refills and I appreciated the vat (I'm kidding) I mean the squeeze bottle of ranch dressing (yes, I am one of those people.) The fries had the peels on which I love and they were pretty tasty. I had the mushroom bacon swiss burger and my hubby had the classic burger without cheese. Both burgers were good. He ordered onion rings and those were a big hit. I would also note that the onions rings appeared beer battered and a bit more cakey with a smoother finish than ones with flour breading. That is a personal preference for some. They were very good. I love love love the atmosphere here. It has such a nice patio atmosphere and there were lots of families and couples dining al fresco. We would definitely return. It is so nice to sit outside here.

Ordered 10 wings Lemmon pepper and Atomic with the Cajun fries. Side of blue cheese and jalapeño cheese. The fries were lackluster at best. No seasoning or flavor. Had to season them when I got home. The jalapeño cheese I had hoped would save these bland fries was just about as flavorless. Thought about getting a covid test for a minute. Now on to the main course. Smoked chicken wings. The taste I imagined had my mouth watering. How can this go wrong? The wings themselves weren't terrible but very under seasoned and under sauced. Had they been fresh maybe they'd have been better. Were dry and chewy like they'd been sitting around for a while. Now the kicker for 19 dollars for 10 wings I expect perfection. 15 for the combo. 2 dollars tax and 2 dollar tip. Way too much. Had way better from Buffalo wild wings or wing stop at a much cheaper price. Hopefully your experience is better than mine but I will not be ordering again.
