The dressing for the salad was good but there was a little too much. Next time I'll ask for it on the side so I can put as much as I like. The lasagna comes out in a boat. The entire boat goes in the oven so be careful, it's HOT! The marinara is homemade and it's very good. I finished it off with the tiramisu. It was the perfect size and just the right amount of coffee. I was there for about 30-45 minutes. There were several times that I noticed the interaction between the entire staff, manager included. It seemed like a very close knit group, almost like a family. The manager passed by my table as I was wrapping up and I asked her how she was able to get a team that worked so well together. She gave me the rundown of the restaurant and how it had been in her family for 20+ years. It was refreshing to be reminded that places like this still exist. I will definitely be back.

I ordered the special which was a steak with beans, onions and rice for $12.50 which was not bad. Then, I ordered 2 al pastor tacos for $2.75 each and then the menudo which they server on the Saturday. I did a to go order. One thing I wish they did was gave us more salsa, but they were very generous with the tortillas however. Overall, the food was great, but probably better if I had the food right away as I had to drive back 30 minutes to the casino and of course I had to take a shower after playing Pokemon. The owner was kind and told me to come back again and hoped I enjoyed the food and I did and definitely will be coming back again.

Coming from Midwest, I ordered Almon Chicken, Pepper Steak, chicken Fried rice spicy and an egg roll. Paid for my bill and waited in my car. I only live 13 city blocks away. Only thing that was hot was the pepper steak. Egg roll bout half size of twinkle, chicken fried rice, smelled and tasted like fish broth. Chicken almond should of been called chop suey. Beef in pepper steak was pretty good. It was the rest of the meal that ruined it all. I am so sorry for theses people, I spoke with the woman who said they been doing this for 35 years, she wants to retired. Her husband wants to continue to work. Well... my suggestion it to hang it up folks.

The specials vary from Southern flair such as chicken and dumplings, smothers or fried pork chops, and even Mexican food on occasion!). Don't forget to occasionally order one of their hand made hamburger steaks or hamburgers!! Several varieties of hamburgers to choose from (don't foefef the bacon!!), with a butter toasted bun, and the BEST, hand cut French fries I have ever eaten! They also serve crinkle cut (bur go for the hand cut!). The owners are so friendly and go out and talk to the guests, regularly, the servers are efficient and sweet, and service is timely! Many a local worker and family find themselves there daily, and people all know one another- unless someone traveling down hwy 82 just happens to pull in! In the spring and summer they also have seafood night and serve crawfish as well on the weekends during season! They serve breakfast and dinner as well, with just as much flavor as all of the rest of the menu! Comfort food galore! I've lived here since 2019, used to own a 4 star restaurant in Louisiana, and am a traveler and a foodie... and only recommend this place!
