Ok, so I walked in today 11.5.25 at 6::35 pm. I was going to place a to go order, and noticed a male employee mixing up the cheese with his hands. Then scoop the cheese out with his hands to spread onto the dough to make the pizza. He said I will be right with you dude. I then seen he wasn't wearing any gloves at all. I said no thanks man and walked out! I guess Hondo doesn't care who handles their food. I'm new to town and in the automotive service industry, glad I'm learning where not to eat. Yuck! read more

Great. People that work there were just great. Enjoyed going for the buffet. Smiles were all around.

Is the buffet small? Yes. Is it busy during the lunch hour? Yes. But the pizza is standard Pizza Hut fare, the staff is friendly, and it's $5.40 with tax for the buffet. I've eaten there four or five times, and I'm planning to go again today, because it's a good value. read more

I cant tell you how good their pizza is or how clean their facility is. I cant tell you how quick their service is or how good their prices are. What I can tell you is how horrendous their customer service is and tell you the reason I cant give you the above review. I had a day off from work, which rarely happens, and my daughter had earned a pizza for reading. I figured I would pick it up and take it to her for lunch as well as have lunch with her. I ordered the pizza at 1040 for an 1100 pick-up. I confirmed that it would be ready at 11. I was their waiting at the time I made my order and saw an employee roll in around that same time. At 11:06 they finally unlocked their doors to inform me that they hadnt even started my order and it would be at least another 10min until it was done. So.. you open late AND dont have my order ready... lovely. Well my daughter gets a 30min lunch that starts at 11:05. Needless to say not only did they not have her lunch made but they also caused us to miss nearly half of her lunch waiting on them. She thought we forgot. Horrible customer service. Period. Recommend Pepe's which is minutes around the corner. Great customer service, good prices, and yummy pizza. read more

I'm done with small town Pizza Huts. Oddly, in the larger cities where there are dozens of Pizza Hut franchises, they all seem to be barely in business, with no more than a few patrons in any given location. HOWEVER, go to a small town Pizza Hut (the ones in Fort Stockton, Hondo, and Pecos TX come to mind) and they are so overwhelmed that the experience sucks. The last time we tried Pizza Hut in Fort Stockton, we were literally told "The wait will be so long that y'all might as well leave." There was a volleyball team in there with one person working the entire floor and one as the cook. At the Hondo location, we went on a Tuesday around noon (which is the worst time to go to any eatery) and the place was PACKED! Not a single table available. There were at least a dozen people lined up for the buffet line (which blocks one of the entrances). No salad bar. One person working the floor, who was very nice but very flustered as well. One cook who was taking his time. The "buffet" never had more than a few slices available. Over 30 people in there for a buffet of a few slices that would come out every 10 minutes or so. It was so surreal that I had to just laugh. Very pathetic management/non management. It was not a good experience. read more

If you call in an order or order online, you will invariably have to wait 20-30 minutes more than they tell you, usually because they "forgot" to make part of the order until you remind them. read more

I ordered online on the road got there 15 minutes later to find out they did not even start my order. After sitting for 30 minutes waiting I witnessed 7 different people come in and be offended by the smell which is coming from what could only be the filth of this place. When I asked to speak to a manager I had to wait 10 minutes for her to get off the phone to address me. Once I explained how filthy the store was she told me that this was my opinion . So I explained to her you would have to be blind not to just see the long living issues of this restaurant and asked her to refund me because I was in fear of eating the pizza after all. I then called the DM to just tell him about the poorly ran and filth of this place. Then after I got off the phone I realized shouldn't he already be aware of the condition of this unit? The disgust of filth of this restaurant didn't happen in one day! That much I can guarantee . You take a huge chance eating here. I know the only people who ever actually make it online to review fast food pizza are the ones who have had a bad experience, but I would just like to brag on this pizza hut in Hondo, TX. We ordered some pizzas to go to eat on the way back home after floating the frio river, and They really hooked our pizzas up. They were excellent! the staff was super friendly even though it was extremely hot inside the restaurant, and they informed us their air conditioner had been broken for 3 weeks and they were waiting on parts to come in before it could be fixed. Mind you, this is TEXAS IN JULY!!! No one ever complained or mentioned it until I commented on it. I had ordered online on my cell phone but realized when I got inside that I had ordered 3 medium pizzas and there was a special going on where you get 2 medium pizzas for 6.99 a piece and that final medium pizza was an ultimate cheese lovers so it was costing me $13 for one but the staff helped me add another pizza on and I got all 4 pizzas for the same price as 3, and we only had to wait about 15 minutes for our order. ONE STAR IS STILL TOO MANY! This is one of the most disgusting and poorly managed restaurants I have ever been in. Growing up nearby... we often stopped at this PH and in the last few years, it has declined rapidly. My family and I went again to give it one more try but we walked out - it was disturbingly and very visibly filthy. When we walked in, there was one other family sitting in the corner. Every single table was dirty, the floor was dirty and the counters were dirty. We saw two employees, one on her phone near the soda fountains and another walking around in the kitchen area. I guess they expected us to sit at a dirty table because neither greeted us or offered to clean one up. After about 2 minutes of standing there, we asked and the guy deferred the job to the girl on the phone. While waiting, I noticed uncovered food and flies, and witnessed the kitchen employee handling food without gloves. This put me over the edge because the guy himself was visibly unkempt. His clothes were ragged and filthy, skin and hair were very oily and he just didn't appear to be very concerned with hygiene. Yet, there he was... handling what would eventually become our pizza. NO! We walked out and will not return. THE PLACE IS A HEALTH HAZARD!! If, or WHEN (since it won't last long the way things are), new management or ownership takes over. I encourage them to advertise with a big, clean "Under New Management" sign. Until then... we'll eat elsewhere. read more
