I love Pizza Hut! The atmosphere is relaxed and dark to contrast the hot IV days. I have always loved this restaurant for lunch and dinner! HOWEVER the employees in specific the manager on duty Melissa, made my experience so horrible that I will be calling corporate. Yes I'm being THAT customer because she is an example of what not to do when a customer is unsatisfied. She argued with me and gave a horrendous attitude. Friday afternoon, work's done, any suggestions for the weekend? I felt like driving, plus I always wanted to know what "El Centro" is since it's on all of these freeway signs in San Diego. So, I got into my car and headed eastwards through the desert to El Centro (and noticed a change in temperature from 69 to 109 within 1.5 hours). By the time I got there it was probably 9pm and 110 degrees... the scene was dead, and the only familiar thing was that Pizza Hut sign, beckoning me on the dark and lonely main street. There were quite a few people in there: Mexican families, some younger Mexican couples, plus an old white guy with a Cowboy hat. I wanted a slice of pepperoni pizza but the bored waitress told me they only sell full pizzas. What?! Ever. I was hungry... ... and paid $12 for a very small round pepperoni pizza that was burnt at the bottom. To top it, it took them about 30 minutes to burn erm cook that small piece of overpriced pizza. So the last time I ordered pizza from the El Centro, CA location I was charged 10 cents per each Crushed Pepper packet. It was an order to go and I ordered 4 pizzas. Since I wasn't going home I had to but them. Today call in a $33 order (pickup) and asked not to be charged to pepper to go since I'm ordering 4 pizzas. They said they had to CHARGE me. Then I asked if I could take a zip lock bag to fill at the tables since they're not charge. They said NO....so I cancelled my order. Funny they would cancel my $33 for $1 of crushed pepper. I was very disappointed. Ordered two large pizzas and sodas to be delivered to our hotel. They were delivered within the time frame provided by the staff person who took my order. The pizzas may be their large but they are the size of a medium. Hawaiian was fine, pepperoni was over cooked. I had asked for paper products to accompany the order such as plates, napkins and cups. Usually this isn't a big deal, but I was on hold for too long, and my wife decided to call while I was still on hold and they eventually answered her and took her order! Kinda makes me wonder how many other people went ahead of me. Another issue we had was when my wife was ordering over the phone, it didn't even sound like they were paying attention. My wife was listing off the toppings for her pizza and ending it by asking for no cheese, but extra sauce instead and they repeated back, "Extra cheese and can you repeat the toppings." The customer service is horrible. They sold us rock hard,cold pizza, that we picked up 45 min after they opened. 45 min after ordering. It looks like and tastes like a pizza they had left over from the night before. I called to let them know I wasn't satisfied and was told it was my fault the pizza was hard and cold because we took 45 min to pick it up. I used to be a shift manager for dominos and Pizza Hut not too long ago, and I wanted to speak with the main manager of this location. I know what good and poor service can be, so whenever you come to a place and the first thing they say is "here to pickup?" without even welcoming the customer and assuming he already placed an order is really bad service. One of the main things these restaurants have to focus on is Hospitality. The rules emphasize that they have to acknowledge every customer with a wow greeting which means they should positively impact the customers, which in this location they obviously don't have. A proper greeting is "Hello! how may I help you with?" Or "Hi! Welcome to Pizza Hut my name is... And I will be assisting you today." Anyways I came across a young girl whom I asked if I could speak to the manager. She went and called him but came back saying "he's on the phone" so I said "okay I'll wait until he's finished" but she gave me a weird look, so I asked her "he's gonna come out after he's done on the phone right?" And she said "no." In my mind I was shocked so I asked again " so he's not coming out at all?" She repeated "no" Asking me "what do you want." I guess they did make me say "wow" but in a shocking negative way, she started to become rude with attitude. I know how employees can be that's exactly why I asked to speak with the manager, NOT her but she said "he's working." Obviously!! He's working I know that, his name was Gerardo and I never met him but a lot was said about him through this incident. Whenever someone comes to speak with the manager about whatever it may be, even if the manager doesn't feel like coming out, if he is on the clock he has to show his face and take care of all issues. I know he wasn't doing inventory because that's at the beginning of the week and I know he wasn't putting away an order because that's in the early morning, I also know that if he was doing the schedule or any paperwork he could pause at any time and go up front. That's the way we were trained and that's the way I handled things in my store. So the conclusion is that I wouldn't recommend this location to anybody and I will never go buy anything from them, because I saw that they had a bucket of tomato sauce on the floor which they are not supposed to. The reason why you should treat every customer well is because you never know who they are, and in this case she wasn't aware that I know all about the business and have contact with area coaches who can find out when HQSC(inspection) are doing visits. I will try to make sure they find out about their Hospitality and cleanliness. read more

The service here is awful! We ordered a medium pizza and 18 chicken wings delivered to our hotel room. Best pizza you can get for the price in El Centro. Ordered stuffed crust Hawaiian pizza and it was good. Use the online order and pick it up yourself to save money. Baked pastas are good too. My favorite is chicken Alfredo pasta it has lots of cheese in it. During peak dinner time it can take over an hour to get your food. Make sure to put your order in early or you will wait a long time for it. Boneless wings are good but expensive. Just stick with the pizza or baked pastas instead. read more

Called in 2 thick crust pizzas for delivery and had to repeat "thick crust" over the phone twice. Ended up getting thin crust instead. Kids had started eating already by the time we noticed, so upon calling the establishment back several slices were gone. Despite that, the people on the phone said that they would give us what we ordered only if we would return what was left of the pizzas they delivered. Who knows what they wanted them for, since it is illegal, not to mention unsanitary, to resell ANY food that you have already given the customer. If the customer wants to return food because the establishment got it wrong, that returned food must be thrown out, and it just goes to waste. Anyone with appropriate experience in the food business knows that. Anyone who knows anyone with such experience knows that. Anyway, they ended up letting us keep them, after having insisted on the phone so much for them to be returned. read more

More than once have I had more crust than pizza. I ordered a large and the crust was literally as thick as one and a half of their breadsticks. Not to mention that it had almost no sauce. I would've been better off ordering cheesy bread than getting the poor excuse of what they call pizza. Their pan pizza isn't any better, it's always very dry on top and at times doughy on the inside.
