The only other old school Foster's that I know of is in Old Town Torrance, California, and it's in worse shape. Too tempting to pass up even at 10:30am. I went up to the window manned by a friendly, informative, young man who said he lived in Westmorland and never tasted a date shake although he pointed out that Foster's did have date shakes a long time ago.  We got Into a conversation when I mentioned to him that this was an original Foster's Freeze. "Yeah, they celebrated its 70th anniversary a few years ago."    I got a chocolate soft serve ice cream cone which was as good as it was 60 years ago in homage to this iconic structure. Took photos and left.   City of Brawley, please give this Foster's Freeze historical status to encourage preservation as you are for the Brawley Theatre nearby. Once destroyed, all these tIme honored buildIngs can never be rebuilt.  4 stars for beIng one of the last original Foster's Freeze still standing.

Reading the order back I heard "cheeseburger add onions" so I stopped him and said again "Single hamburger. No cheese. Just onions" after a two minute conversation to clarify he said "Okay. Got it. Cheeseburger, no cheese but onion." I figured I'd probably get a burger with everything and some extra onion at this point. Okay, whatever, fine. That's not what I got. I got a single burger with no a damn thing on it. I also don't love that we have to give out our first name to people we don't know including the customers but for the love of Pete try to figure out the basics of what the customer is ordering. It's not that freaking difficult.
