The service is way better than it needs to be. The servers are quick and friendly, and it's a pleasure to dine here. I'm just not a fan of the food. But I feel like Arni's has been an institution in the Lafayette/West Lafayette area for a long time, so people have their allegiances and hills that they are willing to die on. One of those hills that locals seem to want to die on is that Arni's and their thin crust pizzas, which are cut into squares, are good. I ordered a personal sausage pizza, which is like a microwaveable Mama Celeste or Connie's pizza, but served at a restaurant. The crust is cracker thin, the sauce is very sweet, and the whole pie is just a little too greasy, and hard and soft in all the wrong places. Maybe I needed to order a larger pizza? Maybe the small size of the personal pizza is not the way to go? I also ordered a Caesar salad, which came with chunks of chicken that I did not order with my salad. OK! It also came with tomatoes and the dressing on the side, and at that point, it ceased to be a Caesar salad in my mind and was just a salad with chicken and tomatoes. Arni's is not my thing, but this place was poppin' during lunchtime on a weekday, so you know it's other people's thing. Maybe give it a try when you're in the Lafayette area.
