The shop keeper had told us to find a table but didn't let the server know. I had the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. It was served with LOTS of gravy. (See picture). The waitress was very nice and sweet to us, joking and laughing, food came 20 min later. My wife thought her meatloaf had too much gravy which was fine, she just moved it to the side. My chopped steak with onions was quite delicious, one of the better chopped steaks I have had and had enough onions for every bite. We were surprised in the end as desert is included with each dish so we got two pieces of pie, strawberry rhubarb and peach. Over all a great visit except for the wait. 4.2 stars.

They make their own bloody Mary mix in house. They also make the cole slaw and it was delicious. We stopped at this place on the way to St Louis from Michigan. The soup of the day was a rich, creamy lobster bisque. My husband ordered the salmon grilled and said it was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. We ordered a dessert to share (turtle cheesecake), and they thoughtfully plated it with a starburst of whipped cream for each of us! The owners came around and checked on everyone briefly. They were very kind and hospitable. Overall, the Old Colonial Inn was a delightful experience and a hidden gem.
