Emancipation is a brewery not a lot of people have heard of because it's not close to anything of course. Has a surprising amount of variety on tap and in cans to go. They may not have a whole lot but everything is full of flavor and quenches one's thirst. Even with it being a smaller brewery it still has quite a lot. It's got several of their own beers on tap along with a few others. There's also more cans in a refrigerator. Has the basics along with a few interesting ones. More than just the IPAs and the usual. It's about $7 a pint. The Farmer's Favorite is the IPA and is a pretty good medium one that's crisp and smooth. Has a few things to snack on here. It's about $3 for the Krack Mix. Basically like Chex Mix but it's made locally. They also will let you bring in stuff. Great place that's pretty hard to find the first time going here. It's located on N. 2500 East Rd. a few miles north of Fairbury surrounded by corn fields pretty much. They're closed Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays.

We couldn't have picked a better spot. We were seated immediately and notice the place was filled with mainly locals. Our server stopped by right away to take our drink order and ask us if we had any questions. She was so nice, so friendly, offered great recommendations and was fun to talk to. Mr. Bee ordered the Monte Cristo Wrap and I tried the house made veggie burger. The food came out quickly and was nice and hot. The Monte Cristo Wrap was really quite good and had a lot of nice flavors and was seasoned well. My veggie burger was different but delicious. It was also seasoned well and I managed to eat every last bite and thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered a side of Fried Mac and Cheese and it too was very different than what you would expect. The mac and cheese is not shaped into balls, battered and fried. They take their mac and cheese and smash it down on the grill to cook it. So good. It had lots of crispy bits on it. The food was fresh and really well cooked. The place is like an old fashioned diner and friendly service with a smile. The atmosphere was fun, and everyone seemed friendly and were enjoying their meals. We were full, but when our server came by and said we have fresh made pies, Mr. Bee jumped on that bandwagon. We got a piece of coconut cream pie to go. We stopped in the park in the middle of the square where there are a few benches and picnic tables. We enjoyed our pie, it was scrumptious while enjoying the beautiful sunny day.

It's a pretty casual place that's better than it looks. Can get crowded but things ran smoothly last time in. The food is basic diner stuff with a few better things. A popular place for the local residents to gather. It's one of the many local bars and restaurants around here. This seems to be one of the better ones. Has the main dining area. While waiting for an order go check out the back with the gaming area to play slots. It's $2.50 for domestic beers. That's good. It's about $7 for appetizers. The Pretzel Bites are the best of these. Fluffy and comes with a dipping sauce, choice of beer cheese or something else. The rest of the menu features classics like breakfast including eggs, omelets, and toast, and lunch has things like burgers, fish, and pasta. For sure it's a place for locals as well as tourists looking for classic diners and grills. It's got a lot of various memorabilia. They're closed Sundays.

I came in looking for dairy free options and was so happy to find out they make their oatmeal with no dairy at all. I ordered it with raisins and brown sugar on the side, and it was simple, warm, and exactly what I wanted. If you do want milk, they'll bring it on the side. I also ordered the grilled peach salad, and wow. Perfectly grilled, sweet, and such a standout. The dressing seemed to contain dairy, but the team was very helpful in guiding me and making sure I had what I needed. It quickly became one of my favorite salads I've had in a long time. My husband sampled some of their pastries and said they were delicious. They also had a massive cinnamon roll on the counter, probably close to ten inches wide. I didn't get it this time, but if you're a cinnamon roll person, this is absolutely the place to indulge. They have regular sized ones too if you're not ready to commit to the giant version. The server was so kind, and I think the manager spoke with us as well. She was just as friendly. I also really liked the decor, which gave the place a comfortable, welcoming vibe. And small detail, but appreciated: they have a baby changing table in the bathroom, which I know is a lifesaver for a lot of families.

What you can expect: -meals served on antique china -homemade breakfasts and lunches -grab and go meals and sweets, including cinnamon rolls big and small -friendly servers My dining companion was a big fan of her omelet and home fries, especially the not-so-overwhelming portion size. I enjoyed my cinnamon roll and hash browns. My small critique is that the cinnamon rolls aren't served warm. I asked my server to heat mine up, and while she did, it really didn't impact the roll--only some frosting. If I was to return, I would order one to go and reheat it at home...and would I return? Yes, and I already know I want to try to baked oatmeal.

Our waitress (didn't catch her name) a young, short, blonde hair girl. She seemed as if she didn't want to give us proper service due to the fact we came in about an hour before close. She seemed very out of it and didn't look like she was all there. We were concerned that she may have been under the influence of something.. it took her forever to get us our drinks and there was two other tables besides us. After we received our food, she didn't even bother to come check on us once, until we got the check. As we were leaving we happened to pass by the back of the building and we saw our waitress outside who appeared to be smoking something. When she saw us passing by she hid whatever it was, and immediately walked back inside. We were more concerned at how young she looked. But besides our service the food was fine and the price was within reason. I hope this restaurant realize what their staff does behind their back.

I heard some good things about the pizza they serve so I figured I would give it a shot for myself. I placed a carry out order over the phone and was told it would be 20 minutes. The place wasn't that busy when I arrived, and it looked just like I remembered. There were two employees working and I spoke with both. They were both very friendly and my pizza was ready as promised. The crust was about par for the course around here. Not much taste outside of flour. The sauce was decent, and the toppings were plentiful. The cheese is the type mozzarella that turns a bit rubbery, but I must admit, I like that. All in all, I enjoyed the pizza, and the service was friendly. Was it my favorite pizza in Pontiac? No. But, I wouldn't hesitate to come back.
