Very, very good simple cuisine! A small establishment so getting someone on the phone can be difficult. Be patient if you're calling but if the hours say they're open, drive on over. ¡Aye Díos mio! These tacos are gastronomical works of art. My husband and I stopped in for a late lunch. It's worth the short drive from the interstate to get legit tacos. The corn tortillas are fresh and light. Between the two of us we tried the pollo (chicken), pastor (pork), and carne asada tacos. All of the meats were insanely delicious and flavorful. The toppings were super fresh and the tacos were made to order. I'm honestly not sure why some complained about the building. It's a taco stand, folks. It's in a super cute little building and the inside is very clean. The owner is really personable and even was happy to chat with me in my Spanglish. The front of the restaurant also has some basic Mexican kitchen staples and great drink options. Get yourself to this taco stand!!!! read more

Nothing fancy. Just authentic, simple really really tasty food. We have been getting fantastic food here - without fail- for years.

This place is awesome! I had three tacos, one chicken, one beef, one pork and all were wonderful. They have a really good red and green sauce and it is also a mini grocery store of items from Mexico. If driving by I would highly recommend that you check out this place. Also the customer service is really good the Decour is humble yet very clean. Enjoy a little taste of Mexico. read more

First off I believe that it should have only received a 4 star rating. That's only because the service was very slow and the prices are...well pricey compared to the standard Mexican food joints. Anyway the food was so good it basically made that disappear. I got a pastor burrito and it was so good!! Burrito was huge and had tons of flavor. Both the hot and mild sauces were outstanding. I prefer the hot. My wife had steak tacos and she said they were out of this world too. Will definitely keep coming back. read more

Went to restaurant for the first time and expected excellence especially because they had hits for migrant workers so I expected authentic tacos carne asada taco was $4 it was okay but not wonderful and did that seem like a five-star restaurant to me I had much better experiences in Chicago it seemed a little on the expensive side not a $1 sign expense I'll go back to try the torta in the future I wish they had the menu on a board with prices I feel that I may have paid more money without a solid physical menu present that's about $12 for two tacos + 2 sodas read more

Surprisingly good. As they opened up, I stopped in for lunch. Carne asada tacos were excellent. Onions and cilantro just like they're supposed to have. I would definitely go back. It's worth the drive from the highway. read more

Authentic taco stand, so happy to find this. We were traveling to Chicago from Texas. I had the pork "street taco", double corn tortilla, pork, onion and cilantro. Cooked fresh while we waited, they also serve legua, pollo, asada, chivo, carnitas... They don't speak lots of english, but had great sincere service. Worth the trip to this little town!! read more

We read the reviews and decided to stop here on the way to Nauvoo, Illinois. Like the other reviews stated, the outside looks a little beat up. The inside had only 2 tables and it was very warm, but the owner directed us to the backyard where we found a picnic table under a shade tree. The food was prepared while we waited. Yummy!! My wife had the carne asada tacos and I had the pastor burrito. Both the tacos and the burritos were delicious. The owner told us that they are from the Los Angeles area, and was happy to talk to us when we told her we were from California, too. She was very friendly. Do yourself a favor and stop in for some awesome Mexican food. We're just sorry that we won't be passing through here anytime soon. read more

I was in the fence as to whether to enter this place based in the outside presentation. When I entered it wasn't much better than I had hoped. A very nice customer said hello and I then asked about the food quality. She said she and her husband eat there a couple of times a week and its great. When the cashier came out I tried to order the three taco plate and she told me they didn't have rice and beans today....what? I finally ordered three tacos and had a seat. The tacos came out a few minutes later and I must say they were the best I've ever had, and that's saying a lot considering I grew up in California. Nicely done! read more

This place is great. Anybody who knows Mwxican food knows that much of the "good stuff" is not in fancy places. And being from Chicago I have had my fair share of good and bad tacos. The tacos here are perhaps the best I have ever had. They serve them with a slice of lime, and the lime juice adds to the already amazingly fresh taste of these tacos. Both the chicken and the steak are wonderful. People there (workers/owners and customers) also very friendly. Only about 6 minutes off of I-57. Well worth it, I go whenever I can. read more

If you happen to find yourself in Onarga, Il and craving Mexican food, don't judge this book by its cover. They prepared the finest carne asada burrito I've had in a very long time. Everything tasted fresh and authentic and incredible. The meat was tender and juicy and very flavorful. And if you find the service to be slow, the reason may be that they're cooking everything fresh to order. But the food from this little restaurant in this little town is well worth the wait. This is a Hole-in-the wall type place mostly offering tacos, burritos, etc. but they are authentic Mexican. All food is cooked once ordered, not before, so you may have to wait a short while, but it's well worth the 10 - 15 minute wait. There is no "atmosphere" to speak of, and just 2 tables with four chairs each. In the summer, he usually puts a picnic table out. Mostly just take-out. read more

I grew up in this area and am back visiting family. I thought I'd entertain myself to see what the Yelp reviews said about the local establishments when I came across this place. This restaurant is relatively new and had good reviews. I thought I would give it a try and am glad I did. The building in which it resides is older and the inside is very small. Therr are zero frills when it comes to decor, but who cares... All I want is good food. The place looks very clean on the inside and from what i saw in the kitchen. I ordered a couple tacos and my only regret is I didn't order more. Unless you're local you probably don't know that the community in which this place serves is heavily populated with first generation Mexican Americans. What does this mean? This means that you get the best damn tacos in the middle of the corn fields. These are the same tacos you'd get in Southern California 9 any other major city and maybe even better.
