I have been there 2 times in the last week. New owners have changed the food. Hamburgers the first time had a weird flavored bun. Solid food, amazingly low prices. Not quite as good as last time, the bun was a tad dry and the burger patty was not hot. My husbands was hot and perfect, so maybe the timing was an issue between our orders. Really good, fresh coleslaw, milk shake was perfect. At the end of the day, we got 2 burgers, small fries, coleslaw, and a shake for $10!!! They were super busy and doing their best so I'll definitely go back next time we're driving through town. Always a gamble for what type of service and quality you will get. Today the fries were extra salty and the burgers were not even what we ordered loaded with extra salt to top it off. Unfortunately that has been the norm since the change in ownership over our past five visits. If you are coming here for a milkshake, fries, shrimp, or coleslaw, it's a great choice . Sadly if you are coming for the burgers or service, I wouldn't . This place really changed on me this summer and no matter what time of day I try it, it's never gone back to the way it was. I miss the old "just" . Well worth the stop. Driving home from U of I and was in the mood for a burger. Wanted a local joint and not a chain. Just Hamburgers hit the spot. Nothing fancy as you can see by the pictures but on point. During the 5 minutes I was there, it was clearly obvious that I was the only non local in the establishment. Eventhough they spelled tomato wrong and only take cash (my double burger with no bun was $3.19), it will be a regular stop over the next 3 years. Quick, easy and satisfying. My husband is the burger nut in the family, so I was along for the ride to check out these burgers. I will say, however, that I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, the meat had a great flavor. Yes, the bun was super soft. Yes, the cheese was like buttah. The fries I could have taken or left, but they were perfectly fine, of the medium cut variety, no skin on. And the prices were super reasonable. Less than $2 for a single cheese burger and 80 cents for a bottled water. Great little burger joint with a hometown appeal. We come to Paxton once a year to visit family and Just Hamburgers is a must. We stopped by today at just hamburgers to enjoy a lunch my wife and son and I we're just coming back from university of Illinois Champaign. As we are heading northbound on interstate 57 we started to feel hungry so I pulled out yelp and looked and what our choices were. We all decided that burgers sounded like a perfect lunch so I plugged in the directions to just hamburgers in Paxton Illinois and we headed that way. About a mile or so off of I 57 we found just hamburgers. It was jumping with activity as we walked in we noticed the place was very small and the inside on the left was a menu on the wall next to the cash register. The prices for the sandwiches and the hamburgers were ridiculously reasonable, they had side items such as homemade baked beans, homemade coleslaw and french fries. We all decided on burgers so each of us ordered a double my wife a double hamburger with mayonnaise onions lettuce and catch up, I ordered a double cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato and pickles and my son ordered his double cheeseburger plain. Fries were $.85 so I ordered for orders of those a small strawberry shake for the wife a small chocolate shake for the son and I had in large diet Pepsi, I also ordered a coleslaw the total for all of this including tax was $21. The burgers were cooked perfectly the cheese melted nicely, The buns were fresh and my tomato and lettuce or crispy and fresh the fries were excellent and the shakes are very good, as an avid diet soda drinker and the lover of Diet Coke and Coke zero I must say that their fountain diet Pepsi is probably the best I've ever had anywhere!! The coleslaw was cold crisp and delicious and a perfect ending to the meal. Just hamburgers is a perfect stop for lunch they are extremely fast and organized they are very friendly and the prices are more than generous keep in mind though there are a couple of picnic tables on the side of the building otherwise you may have to eat your car, but that said it is still worth a place to go for a delicious lunch at a very low price. read more

I'm not sure what you call this kind of place in the Midwest, but back in the South, it would have been a dairymaid. Maybe that translates up here too? Anyway, it's a tiny little hamburger joint that specializes in just a few things--burgers, fries, milkshakes... that sort of thing. I worked at a place like this all throughout high school down in Louisiana, so Just Hamburgers was a trip down memory lane for me. When I first arrived with my friends, I was totally confused. The tiny shop is where you wait in line to order and then wait in line again to pick up your food. I was mostly clueless how this worked and had to get help from the regulars and the lovely lady working. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, so eventually I figured it all out. There's no space inside for dining, so you've either gotta take your food to go or sit outside at the picnic tables. All the food was simple and delicious! I had a double cheeseburger (they're really thin, get the double) and a side of baked beans and potato salad. All that plus two bottles of water--for about $6. And don't forget your cash... no cards here! I really enjoyed my first trip to Just Hamburgers, and I can't wait to go again when I'm back in Paxton. read more

Just hamburgers is just off the road, just 45 minutes away and just amazing. We stopped here late on the way to our flight in Chicago. We each had a double cheese burger with everything, fries and milkshakes. All together we spelt $12.00 The fries are the best I have every had in fast food. Slaty, crispy and hot. The burger was juicy and classically good with a slight crunch. The milkshake was good! Not amazing, but good. I would go back for sure! Keep this place alive!! read more

Cheeseburger nirvana. No one else makes a burger that even comes close. The beef they use is out of this world and makes you realize what a sorry excuse for a burger most fast food joints serve. Prices are lower than the chains and service is twice as fast. The fries and fountain drinks are great too. I have grown up on Just Hamburgers. I have no problems with the noon shift. The food is great and the service is good. We have quit going in the evening which I hate because I love the specials. The problem I have is that they always mess up my order. I get home and something is wrong it never fails. After 4 times of getting it wrong we stopped going in the eve. This has to be the best hamburger joint in the mid-west. You simply cannot beat the dirt cheap prices on the food. You can literally stuff yourself for under five dollars. Just Hamburgers serves more than just burgers. Each night there are specials, from pork tenderloin, steak sandwiches, you name it. The bacon is all crispy and fresh, and after speaking with owner I found out the grind their own meat, which you can taste with each bite. I can talk enough about the fries, the are unbeatable.
