Cinco De Mayo - Two bean tostadas and a cheese enchilada

My cousin and aunt rave about this place and brought me here for lunch. Oooo it's good…read more I like the interior of this restaurant. Festive decor and friendly staff. Nice clean bathroom. We were promptly greeted and given lunch and specials menus. The menu is enormous and plenty of choices for any palate. I found what I wanted, bean tostadas and cheese enchiladas. I love the finely shredded white cheese they sprinkled on top of the bean tostadas. I got the Vegetarian C plate which was $10.99. I admit I was not too crazy about the cheese enchilada but it was OK. I was pleased that the server allowed me to get another bean tostada in place of the bean burrito. We shared a bowl of white queso dip yummmmmm! Hot gooey deliciousness. It was a very generous serving and we took some of it home. Cousin got the Burrito Tapatio holy cow it is the biggest burrito ever!!!! There should be a warning on the menu to let customers know it is the size of your head. Seriously. It is enough for at least three meals. My aunt got some corn tacos which she enjoyed. Very reasonably priced and a tasty meal, great service.

It was around 5:00pm and there was hardly any cars in front. Had the best taco in my life here. They had a nice portion of Guac and the Salsa and Chips were excellent. I would be a regular if it was near my home. By around 6:00pm, people started entering the place. Friendly staff too.

La Potosina - Why is there sour cream and lettuce on top of the burrito?

Some of the service could be improved. Our favorite staff members are wonderful, a few however have a bit of trouble with their jobs. Sometimes they are super busy, apparently we're not the only ones who like them, yet things are consistently done in a timely and orderly way.

So, we saw good reviews on this place and tried it. After we left, these positive reviews either meant we came at a bad time or these people never ate at Fat Rosie's, La Mex or even Pepe's. FOOD: The menu is very large. Kind of not organized in my opinion. My fiance ordered a tostada and enchilada. I had the taco, chalupa and burrito. When we left, we both agreed that Taco Bell is so much better. The food was EXTREMELY salty. Her tostada was soggy with no meat on it. My chalupa? Not at all what I expected. Taco Bells chalupas are SO MUCH BETTER. My burrito was not even wrapped at the ends, food will fall out as I bit into it. We had the strawberry margaritas, which were very good and not watered down, so there is that. Service: Our waitress was nice and knew the menu. The only thing that I raised an eyebrow (and its not a big deal) was we asked for another basket of chips and salsa. Which was good! She left, started getting the bar ready and cleaning up. When she saw we were waving her down, we asked about the chips and salsa and she kind of got miffed about it. Ambiance: The decor was really nice. The establishment was very nice over all, but honestly, we will not be returning. To much sodium in the food.

They made me feel welcome and cared for the entire visit. The restaurant is very clean and well maintained and I was especially impressed with how spotless the bathrooms were which shows how much pride they take in their place. The food was absolutely delicious. I loved being able to customize my burrito exactly how I wanted it. It was not greasy at all and everything tasted fresh with the portions just right. They also serve free chips and salsa which was such a nice surprise and made the meal feel even more special. It is a big deal to me when I can get fresh food that is not oily while on the road and this restaurant really delivered that. The outdoor seating is another big plus. It creates a relaxing and enjoyable dining experience especially when the weather is nice.

Checked out this packed Mexican restaurant in Fairbury. Dos Fuentes is one of the best places to…read moreeat around here. It's because there's not a whole lot of options. Besides a few gas stations and convenience stores there isn't much. The food is pretty good, but it's slow ass to send it out and get served. Basic family owned and operated Mexican restaurant in a town that doesn't have any competition. It's something they certainly benefit from. They know no one else in town is serving what they're serving. Basically drinks are the best things on the menu so get a few. It's about $9 for a margarita. Add a couple bucks to get a flavor. The regular size is pretty big it seems. It's about $12 for an entree. We each got the Veggie Fajitas. A lot of things were stuffed in here and it was quite enough. There was bell peppers, mushrooms, onions, and tomatoes, along with beans, guacamole, lettuce, pico de gallo, and sour cream which I left off. Other menu items include Americanized stuff like chimichangas. The food just was really slow being made, probably because of the family that took up a few tables. For sure the drinks are as good as the food. It's often even better than the food especially when it takes so long you might not get it. There's a pretty okay amount of things on the menu to please both meat eaters and vegetarians.
