However, I truly enjoyed the time we spent in Tupelo and Vanelli's. Everyone we ran in to, both staff and customers, was friendly. It was a Friday night so Vanelli's was busy but we were able to be seated right away and the kitchen was working hard to get everyone's orders out. We got an order of cheese bread and 4 individual pizzas which were WAAAYYYY too much food and then I realized they aren't really "individuals" they are like 12 inches or something. They don't skimp on the toppings and they make a good crust which holds up to those toppings very well. Definitely planning to come back and spend more time in Tupelo and have dinner here again.

Chips came out pretty quick as well as the food later, but the service was beyond bad. 1st, no last call was made, but when I when too order a drink at 9:08 pm, I was told bar is closed. I then ordered food to go for my daughter, was told kitchen is closed and it was 9:11 pm. I then ask if I can have some tortillas as 3/4 of my plate was full. Server said let me check, but manager comes over. He asked what we needed, and I asked if I could have tortillas. He brought some over. Google maps shows this place closes at 10pm. While eating, server was rushing when picking up items on our table. Passing by us looking away hoping we don't need anything. As we are eating, brooms are coming out and cleaning all around us. The worse was at 9:40, 3 employees 8 to 9 feet away, just staring and arms crossed. Folks, it pretty simple, it's ok if employees want to go home. I understand. Just come over, and ask us we could start finishing up. We would have appreciated that versus the passive aggressive that was being exhibited by the employees. Paying customers should not have to deal with just plain rudeness. If you don't want to be open, then don't. Close at 8. Close at 7. Its OK. But when you accept a party of 8, we should be treated a little more decently. El Agave all the way.
