I was starving around 10pm, all restaurants near 24 hour Fitness was closed, except Pizza Guys. I came here to order a personal sized pizza. I saw the curry flavored pizza. I asked the cashier if that was close to desi pizza. He said it was powdered seasoning. Ah. I skipped it. So, I ordered Texas BBQ Pizza. I couldn't believe I ate the entire pizza at once. It was so delicious. I normally save some for later. But because of the flavor and the sauce covered close to the edge. I ate it all. I wish there was a Pizza Guys restaurant near me. We live around the corner and I was a die-hard Domino's gal for a long long time. After discovering Domino's doesn't deliver to our area I decided to try Pizza Guys out. The pizza is bomb and consistent. We've ordered it a handful of times already and we're still new-ish to the area. They have an app where you get rewards points as well as a ton of coupons which I can appreciate in this economy. The staff there is cordial and no-nonsense. No seating so you pick up and go. I usually place my order and pick it up in about 25 minutes. 2 medium pizzas (what we've been ordering as a family of 2 adults and a toddler) with 2 toppings for 22 bucks? SAY LESS! It's almost become a ritual when we're too tired to cook from the busy activities we have on the weekend. Enough to eat for us plus leftovers which are always appreciated. My job finished up in San Leandro, and I happen to drive by this small strip mall with a Pizza Guys restaurant in it. Interesting, an opportunity to try their pizza fresh from the oven. I go in and order a large Pepperoni, regular crust. The clerk gives me a discount, and it rings up to around $19. I think nowadays, any large pizza for under $20 is a fair deal. 15-mins later, it's ready! They offer me free plates and napkins. I open the box, and the cheese and the sauce are still hot and glistening. The oily pepperoni chips have browned edges, but not burnt. I go to pull off a slice, and oh-no! Not enough cheese! No molten cheese streaming off the slice. Sorry, that's my requirement for great pizza. But this thin crust pizza was good and hot. The pepperoni was spicy, not salty. Just not enough cheese to make it great. The crispy pepperoni was nice. Pizza Guys in San Leandro is at Hesperian Blvd & Thornally Drive, across from Bayfair. Plenty of off-street parking. Just wanna say this first while the offer is still available. If you order over $15 and check in on Yelp. You get free ice cream. I was browsing the Pizza Guys website and saw that they had a deal for any 2 large pizzas for $37.98. That's a pretty good deal because a normal large pizza costs $28.49. So you'll save $19 doing the deal. And, you can do half and half pizzas for that deal. So... you can potentially get 4 different types of half pizzas for under $40. Which I think is a pretty darn good deal. The large is 14 inches. I ended up getting getting a half and half All Meat & Garlic lover plus a custom pizza. Note, if you do the 2 Large Pizza deal and decide to make a custom pizza, you get only 3 free toppings. It'll cost more for additional toppings. For the custom pizza, I selected garlic sauce base, mushrooms, sausage, and pepperoni. Funny enough, I liked that better than the All Meat or Garlic Lover pizzas. The pizza's were good. It wasn't the best pizza I ever had in my life. But I really think for the quality and price point. It's a fantastic deal. AND I got free Kit Kat ice cream because of the Yelp check in deal. Pizza is not really me. With a few exceptional pie shops, I'll take a pass. Delivery was my thing in my 20's, which is my son's thing. He's been having Pizza Guys send a pie to the house. The only time I know this if I answer the door or it on the counter in the kitchen. I found a large pepperoni in the kitchen and helped myself to a couple of small slices. The crust was fine and the sauce was good. However, the pepperoni was crispy, not burnt, just like a chips. Overall it wasn't bad. I did have to resort to my fridge for a bit of ranch dressing (Marie's). My son said he likes the pies and the delivery is reliable. That's definitely worth a fourth star! read more

Not much! Third problem, cheese. Again, not much! You are paying for bread, here, people, don't forget it! Fourth problem, unequal toppings. Lots of pepperoni, but very little sausage (see picture). Judge all you will, but, as a pizza lover, I know what I'm talking about! You are better going to a local pizzeria, because these guys are unremarkable. I usually do not like to review restaurants, due to having different experiences. But I came across to ordering at this pizza place. Which I always order at Domino's and Pizza Hut, but yesterday I decided to give this pizza place a try for the first time this pizza restaurant and let me just say it was DELICIOUS!! I order their buffalo chicken wings and I LOVED THEM!! they are done perfectly, and their sauces is spicy and it has a great taste. I also order a chipotle pizza and my oh my was that good. The wings where mainly mine but then I took a slice of pizza and it was done perfectly. I placed the order over the phone and I was offered a curbside pick up which I thought was fantastic, due to covid. I decided to walk in anyways, I spot a young lady making the pizza with gloves and Mask, which made me think she was been very professional. She had a fantastic great customer service, the only thing she speaks a bit fast, but she was great over all. I believe the servers name was Lucia. Any who she is the one that takes the calls, makes the pizza and hands it to you in the mornings by herself which I think doing all that at a noon time is a bit much for 1 employee but she managed to have my order ready before I even arrived. Placed an order just earlier through Yelp and delivered by Grubhub. I felt bad placing an order so late, about 45 minutes before they closed. The delivery was about 5 mins later than the estimated time but it was no biggie, they came through. I actually called the store to make sure they were gonna deliver my order still since it was so late. The guy on the phone was really nice. I ordered two chicken pesto pastas and cinnamon sticks. When my food arrived there were 4 boxes instead which I was confused about since I only ordered 3 things. It turned out to be a box of cheese/garlic sticks! I'm not sure if that came with the pasta or they accidentally put that in or if it was on the house, either way I appreciate free food lol. I also appreciate that they packed me plates, forks, seasonings, and napkins, which many places lack. The pasta was quite delicious, although I wish it had more chicken pieces, it wasn't bad at all. I love all kinds of pizza: ones that raise the bar like at Cheeseboard and Zachary's as well as cheaper comforting slices at Pizza Hut and Domino's. Pizza Guys does alright. We ordered their combo deal that included wings and a large pizza +2 toppings. There was also a free soda or ice cream that came with any purchase over $15 which worked for our order. When picking up our food, there was some confusion over our order and we ended up getting both the soda and ice cream. We decided to get buffalo wings and sausage + mushrooms on our pizza. The wings were fatty with a lot of skin and the buffalo sauce was strong (but not in the best way). I would have preferred if the wings had more meat and the sauce wasn't as overwhelming. The size of the pizza was decent, but we thought it was odd that they cut the slices so small that there were 16 pieces. The quality was very average. My friends said that the pizza wasn't worth it and was terrible, however I think it achieved the bare minimum in my standards of acceptance. I guess it depends on your palette, but I would say if you aren't sure where to go, the other pizza option might be better. A plus is that they stay open until 11pm. Up until recently have enjoyed the food purchased from Pizza Guys, but in the last month have noticed some major changes. As in the past have simply called to make an order. It was okay - warm, bland, and having little else but sauce and pasta. Thought it was a fluke, and so ordered a pizza and bacon rolls. The bill was 45.92. In the past if an order was over a certain amount and picked up a free soda or small container of ice cream was offered. Was literally told that only soda was now available. Got home only to find that the rolls did not include bacon. Looked at the receipt and was charged for bacon. I suspect that this location is now under new and indifferent management. Will most likely NEVER use this location again though it is literally around the corner from where I live.
