With 40 years of hand tossing the best pizza in Taft, Pizza Factory continues to serve really great food downtown! Some of my favorite items on the menu are their Awesome Combo Pizza and their Oven Roasted, Bone-in Wings, smothered in a special Mango Habanero sauce. For a really good drink, my family loves the Mug Root Beer from their fountain~ice cold with a consistent, perfect fizz! The people at Pizza Factory are very nice and consistently hit an "aim to please" target with all their guests! You can order catering for a crowd or just enough 'to go' for your night in, but if you don't dine in, you'll miss the great atmosphere and games inside! Thank you guys!! read more

Early in the evening the wife and I were out shopping. I didn't want to see her have to go home and cook dinner so I said let's go get pizza. We have been here before and it's been good however tonight had to be an off night. All most all of the tables need bussed which was amazing at least four workers and less than ten customers I understand that they need to work on to go orders but this was disgusting. Ok so we had a small pizza and it was very greasy and served without plates. The games were good and the right price the lights out front appeared to not be on or not working. Our Mini Cooper club ate here for lunch on our way to Cambria via the twisty roads that change names multiple times! Excellent food, everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the Awesome Combo pizza which was so loaded with toppings I had to be careful so that none of them fell off! The dining area is huge with lots of tables. Ordered for the family at 6:24pm online, pickup time that was emailed to me said 6:49pm. Husband and I went over about 6:40pm to check in and even recognized to the service desk we are a bit early. The girl at the counter seemed frazzled and said there was 6 orders in front of us it will be another 20 minutes. We said ok no problem, we get it's a small town pizzeria, the next second I noticed something and mentioned to my husband "flip flops in the kitchen is all I need to know". My husband and I are sitting and by 7:05pm realize we haven't been called, we stop by the counter again when the girl is more frazzled and says very fast "there's 9 orders ahead before you" then runs to the back and checks, tells us our pizza is the last thing going in now, 10 more minutes. At this point the overpowering smell of cigars and smoke stuck to the other customers clothes was too much for us so we stepped outside, then I had to walk across the street to get away from guys smoking outside the front door and on their patio (pregnant lady over here). While waiting my husband comes over with the food, 7:25pm. I check the order; 1. The wings were the wrong flavor, 2. Missing the salad, 3. Missing soda. We walk back in and explain, they went to the kitchen and said another 10 minutes. Now if they gave accurate timing to customers we would be able to make an informative decision on if it was worth to order here or not, we had a hungry family with kids waiting and certainly would have considered a faster choice, but it was the mania in there that needed real consideration. Next time breathe and explain to your guests what's going on. Because the perception was the big party inside was somehow "family" of the business and it looked like every other order got shoved in the corner to take care of them, flip flop lady kept going back and forth to the kitchen like she worked there then would mingle with the 20+ customers in the dining room, trust me we get it but you need to take control of the situation. There was at least 6 other people stuck in our same situation and the tensions were rising. I never do this but I asked for our prepaid tip back because frankly the customer service and deception didn't deserve it. I remind them about the missing items and was told "we give you the soda at the end so it's not room temp" I replied I already have food in the car getting cold because we are waiting for these wings. Another girl, again frazzled, try's to hand me a gift card because they have no means to refund a credit card, unacceptable, one we are from San Diego and 2. Why would we come back here? She hands us the gift card again and said "have a nice day" .... Wait what about our wings "that have been put on the oven" and missing items? Good job on her for asking the "manager" if she can refund in cash, then I remind them again about the soda, they are all out of Pepsi which we ordered an hour ago, and told "yeah the inventory online isn't accurate". Finally walk out the door at 7:50pm. Im told by one of the girls "we are very sorry, I am only telling you wait times that the kitchen tells me" well stop Lying to your customers. Then told the online system is messed up, "next time we suggest giving us a call after you do the order". That makes no sense. Fix your online site or shut it down, clearly it's not doing you any favors. The manager was in the kitchen and not supporting staff the right away instead setting them up for failure at the front desk counter. Sucks because we love a in town joint and made us crave freaking Little Caesars after this, shame. read more

This Pizza factory in Taft, has great employees, very friendly and professional, and the quality of the pizza was great! I came during the lunch buffet, which cost about $16, but included fresh salad, fried chicken chunks, potato wedges, and several types of pizza. Hesitated to go here because of the ratings but this place has DELICIOUS pizza! My husband and I had them make a custom chicken pizza with white sauce, mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes, and garlic butter on the crust and it was amazing. We started eating and then I remembered to take a picture. A little on the pricey side but quality ingredients and great flavor. We live in Bakersfield but will definitely make the trip to Taft for pizza again soon. read more

This was our 2nd time getting pizza from Pizza Factory. The pizza is good, and the service was good.

I love love their food. Their wildcat special and cheese-sticks are the best. However I have tried placing an order on 3 separate occasions within an hour of their closing and been refused service!!!! So frustrating! Each time they said they were closed. For example When asked what time they close they would state 8:00 pm. I would tell them its only 7:12pm. The employee said "Ummm yeah but were closed sorry." When I asked why they couldn't take my order and why they were closing so early they just said that's how it is. That alone makes me spend my money elsewhere read more

Was excited to try lunch there .The cashier / server was not very friendly at all. We went to the salad bar , and the young man with the red hair was very friendly and made our salads . When we got to the table we noticed that some of our lettuce was wilted and slimy . Our pizzas were brought out and mine had the wrong toppings. Tbh I couldnt even get an order in because the girl on the phone was more occupied with conversating with her coworker, using profanity, than helping me. After the third time hearing "what was that" I hung up. You cant take my order, all but 2 mins of your time, I cant give my money to you. Coupons to this adolescent spot go right in the trash. VERY disappointed - there was some flavor, but unfortunately the wings were spongy and gummy - not that char or crisp you wanna bite into. I am working local construction.. I sent one of my workers in to get some pizza, they would not take the $100 bill as they had never seen 1 before. So then I called back to pay for the pizza over the phone. They answered Pizza Factory hold please, I was on hold so long I finally got in my car and drove over there. I was still on the phone when I walked in and there were 2 customers inside eating pizza. Placed an order for pick up last night. Ordered a large pizza and an order of buffalo wings. The gentleman taking my order asked if I wanted bone in or boneless. I asked what the difference was on price he said there wasn't a difference. I got bone in. When I got to the restaurant to pick up my order my bill was $38 something. I thought it was odd that it was so much. When I got home I noticed that my wings were bbq not buffalo. I called to the restaurant to ask why my order was so much and the girl mentioned that 10 piece of bone in were $19. But boneless were $9 something. She mentioned their prices have changed but the menu I brought home doesn't say anything about bone in being $19. The girl I spoke with was super rude about it. The food here was pretty bad but not as bad as the service and the attitude. I mean, we were pretty much treated as if they were doing us a favor. We ordered carry out - a medium 2 topping pizza, half pepperoni olives, half Hawaiian, 10 piece hot wings and an antipasto salad. We revised our order to a pepperoni and olive pizza and ended up just sitting there and eating. The pizza: the crust was pretty much cardboard, as we picked up every slice, the grease dripped off. They were pretty generous with the toppings. Credit where credit is due. The wings: the buffalo sauce was pretty standard. The wings themselves were very fatty. We ordered blue cheese and ranch. Both were flavorless and we couldn't distinguish one from the other. The extra sauce cost $2. The antipasto salad: the salad tasted fresh although the quality of the meats used was subpar. The Italian dressing was very oily and didn't have much flavor. The service: The young lady who took my order over the phone was very curt and at a point just plain rude. She wasn't too pleased by me questioning the price of a medium pizza when the total came out to almost $38. Turns out, asking for half/half pizza, even if both halves consist of 2 ingredients adds $5 to the total. She was very rushed and wanted to get off the phone. I figured they were very busy. When we arrived, her attitude was no different and the place was pretty empty. Just another couple dining in. We paid and then sat at a table to wait for our order. One of my favorite places.. well it used to be. Came over from Bakersfield and asked for a hot sandwich with no mayo (confirmed it three times), and cheese sticks. I was told 30 minutes even though there was no one around but me. After waiting, I rushed home to realize my sandwich had EXTRA mayo (like were they messing with me?) and my cheese sticks were so overcooked/burnt they were hard as rock. I wasn't going to drive back forty minutes. Not worth the $30 and hour and a half roundtrip. I threw it all away, it was awful. I hope the owners can correct their staff, because this is not the quality or service that I grew up with eating at PF. I was so excited for my food. Had the pizza twice. The plus the toppings sauce are generous. The cheese to hold it all together was light. I paid and asked for extra cheese and it was normal to what you would get elsewhere. For the price you pay here skimpy on one of the 3 critical elements of pizza is not acceptable. My first time I defected they were light on cheese so paid extra the next time for more cheese. Taft is a small little town with a charming yet desolate Main Street and it has the Pizza Factory which I'm giving 5 Stars. Don't know if it's because I'm starving or its genuinely this good. But, alas! It was damn good pizza, the beer was so cold and it hit my belly just right. Yum! The pleasantries of a small town were in full effect. I opted for the combo they have on the sign, I felt like it saved me quite a bit. About $27 for a pitcher, a large special pizza and bread twists. They have indoor seating, which is a plus. We went as a team and they were very accommodating. It got rather hot inside though, like their AC doesn't work. But when you walk by the kitchen, you can feel the AC. Their game room was down, understandably so. There were mixed reviews of their customer service. I didn't have bad customer service, the cashier was friendly and nice. But a friend of mine, who was at the pizza place the same time, said her cashier was rude & threw straws down at her. I know it's busier than usual for them, since it's such a small town. I don't know how Taft has such a good batting average when it comes to their restaurants for how small the town is, but I love the pizza here.
