a pizza in a pizza box

What the fuck is goin on? Like what is that? One mushroom and a couple cubes of pineapple minced up? Isn't this shit hilarious? I mean honestly come on. Let's talk about the next one with the peppers, we got 1/4 pepper cut up on that fucker. Not to mention the minuscule amount of sausage I've never had a bad review for them, this topped it off. Worst pizza place ever. It was over $40 for this, what fucking thieves

Recently, I found myself walking home very late at night from a long day of social events. I wouldn't say I was drunk, but I had most definitely been drinking. And somehow, I had gone most of the day eating very little. By the time I was getting hungry, pretty much every other place in the area had closed their kitchens for the night. Hello Pizza Express! It was my saving grace. But the pizzas in the display case were clearly not the slices that would make me happy. So I took a long hard look at the very long menu, trying to figure out what might be delicious. The woman behind the counter suggested their pastas and seafood, but I took a hard pass at both of those. Then I saw three words in a row, that could never do me any harm. Buffalo. Chicken. Roll. Without a doubt it was a terrible mistake to eat the whole thing. And I couldn't even do it in one sitting. I was able to make it through about three quarters of the beast, and took the last quarter to finish up on the remaining walk home. It was exactly what I hoped it would be. Diced pieces of breaded fried chicken, tossed in buffalo sauce, and enrobed in melted mozzarella cheese. All wrapped up in a long baked roll of pizza dough. The thing was served with two pots of blue cheese dressing. And eating that monster probably probably took 15 minutes off the end of my life. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. But maybe this time, I would try and split the thing with someone.

The burger was kept on the grill for far too long and I wanted actual bacon and not this stuff.

So I get off work and decide to give Pizza Express on Western Ave (Albany NY) a try because I'm starving after a long day's work. I regretted it IMMEDIATELY. I ordered a Bacon Cheese Burger and the burger had turkey bacon on it The burger was overcooked after I specifically asked that it be cooked medium rare. Lastly, for nearly $15 I expect a halfway decent amount of fries but what did I receive instead? A kid's meal amount of fries. Never again. One of the worst spots I've ever been to.

The quality Pizza express is inconsistent. If I wanted McDonalds quality I would have just went there. Why don't you cook the bacon????

We ordered garlic parmesan wings& (ordered them previously )& sausage rolls this afternoon... Both food items are a keeper on the menu, wings are buffalo style, not the pigeon size...excellent wings, moist/tender...

For a nearby pickup special - pizza, knots, soda - this was a good deal. The crust had flavor and cheese wasn't bland.

I ordered 1/2 trays of everything for our group of 13 and we had more than enough food. Our dishes were Penne with Vodka Sauce, Meatballs with Marinara along with more penne in sauce, Chicken Marsala and Antipasto. The Chicken was absolutely delicious with lots of mushrooms and flavorful sauce. The meatballs were enormous and more importantly tasty. The only dish I wasn't entirely pleased with was the antipasto. I was envisioning whole chunks of cheese, olives, peppers and rolled cold cuts. Instead it was finely chopped cold cuts and American cheese on a bed of oily greens with a few pickled vegetables. Alas, I don't have any pictures! I didn't think to take any with all the festivities. I would definitely use them again for my catering/party needs.

We shared the arancini, homemade meatballs and the 5 formaggi pizza. The arancini was a great appetizer. The was a rice ball filled with mozzarella and had a nice crisp breading. It was served with their Rosa sauce. The meatballs were good and had well balanced tomato sauce served with it and pipped whipped ricotta. The wood fired pizza is something you have to get there. Definitely one of the best wood fired pizzas I've had. It had a nice thin crisp crust and a pillowy crust end. The flavor of the cheeses and garlic was a good combination. We will be back in the future when traveling in the area.

First off I'm not sure what food people in these reviews are eating, because in my experience the Italian mix sub was very bland, the bread was dry, and the meat looked pale and weird. That ambience of the place was nostalgic which is the reason why I gave it 3 stars and not 2. The woman helping me was friendly enough but made it a point to tell me how gas prices were fine at $4.10 per gallon as long as Trump was the president, which annoyed me because it gives an indication that details don't matter here. Given the taste of the $15 small sub I paid for it definitely tracks. Be your own critic, but for me it's the history of this place and not the food has people coming back. I won't be one of them.

I'm not sure if there is a separate entrance but my wife was on crutches and she managed to get up the first three into the restaurant from outside but I don't think dining on the main floor would have been an option for us. Our server, Mike, was awesome and full of energy and enthusiasm. He offered suggestions and answered questions about details of the dishes. We were pleasantly surprised with how many menu items were marked v - vegan and v* - can be prepared vegan. This is great for us because it's another place in Albany that we will be able to go out to dinner with friends and everyone will be able.to find something to enjoy. The fried Artichokes are a must if you're looking for a starter. We were eyeing up the Fennel salad or vegan Caesar salad but opted to move on to main entrees. On this night they were out of the Gnocchi Cacio-Pepe which personally, I am not a gnocchi fan to start and Mike told us they were substituting a buccatini pasta instead... this had my attention! I went for his suggestion and chose the Arrabbiata instead which was delicious. My wife enjoyed her Wild Mushroom and Asparagus Risotto. We skipped dessert for this evening but there were vegan Gelato and cookie options for dessert as well. From start to finish it was such an enjoyable experience in this cozy corner restaurant which offers outdoor dining in the summer in the heart of Albany. The cuisine was Italian inspired, and heavy on vegan and gluten free option, which is a great find locally, if you're looking for that. We were sat upstairs and I enjoy the ambiance here. I will note that the chairs are uncomfortable, which does not make a cozy dining experience. The cocktail menu was really great, a lot of gin options which is right up my alley. I had the Corpse Reviver and a glass of wine, both were great. We started with the shrimp balls, which sounded intriguing. They ended up being delightful, almost like loose crab cakes. The flavors were great and I loved the pesto. For my entree, I opted for the lemon mushroom tagliatelle. The pasta was very fresh and chewy, loved that. I enjoyed the combination of lemon and mushroom on the dish, but there were so many different mushrooms of all different textures, that some bites were more enjoyable than others. The snapper puttanesca was gorgeous as well. Overall it was a good meal, but I might have liked it a little more before the change. Definitely a great option if you are looking for dietary restrictions.
