New York Style Pizza
Natalia C.

The New York Style Pizza is legit, this is one of the best I've had here in Michigan, crispy pepperoni, thin, flavorful. I got mine well done and they did not disappoint. 5/5 Would Recommend!

large pizza with black olives bacon, half mushroom half pineapple

the pizza was good. better than a chain anyways. but the grinder HIT. best steak grinder i've ever had. i was going to ask them to customize it but i wasn't feeling like doing anything extra with the order so i left it as is and MAN. it was so good. the ratio of everything is right. i think if i had just ordered pizza i woulda been more hype about it but honestly the grinder just stole the show. also the customer service was really really solid and they had my order done in 20 min even on a friday night. i am irritated i didn't find this place sooner .

Three turnovers

Great pizza spot! I had a craving and my husband mentioned Pizza Connection. Although this isn't our neighborhood pizza joint, it was definitely worth the short drive. My husband suggested we get calzones, or as Pizza Connection calls them, "turnovers". These massive pizza baked turnovers were larger than life. No one could have prepared me for the size. My 8 yr old daughter ordered one as well and she ate hers for three days. What I like most about Pizza Connection is watching the pizza makers make your food. That's right, no huge wall blocking your view. They even speak to you, can you believe it. The customer service was impeccable. From our greeting to the casual conversation to our exit we received nothing but smiles. Oh, and the food, delicious. I simply LOVE anchovies and it's hard for me to get them at some pizza spots. Not a problem here at Pizza Connection. They accommodated my disturbed palette. My turnover had anchovies, mushrooms and black olives in it. Devoured it in two days. I highly recommend Pizza Connection and will be back

Deli Pizza
Justin W.

This is deli pizza and it's bad. I would say this is the worst pizza I've had in the last 5 years. It's so bland, thick and greasy. Get with the times and update and upgrade your food. I suggest calling in someone with a culinary background paying them for a day and have them create you a sauce that has flavor and what cheeses you should use

Loui's Pizza - The hype is real....

Loui's Pizza

Louis is the best Detroit style pizza in Metro Detroit…read more The crust is soft and doughy in the best way possible but still retains a nice crunch on the edge, the amount of cheese is generous, and the toppings are almost marinaded in the deliciously sweet pizza sauce. The result is a mouthwatering pie-like pizza that you're not getting anywhere else. If you want a lot of topping options, Louis isn't for you, it's far more limited than competitors, but I would argue they perfect the basics. The interior is charming in a straight out of the 1970s sort of way. The dining area can get pretty loud but the noise level is friendly and it's great being in a full restaurant surrounded by other people having a good time. There's a strong community feeling you don't get in sterile, corporate chains or local takeout spots. Despite my overwhelming praise for the pizzas they make, I also have to be honest. In the most charitable way possible, I hope that they can take some of their much deserved recent success and reinvest it back into the business because the front of house staff is regularly in over their heads. You can safely add 15 minutes to whatever time they quote you when placing your order. I had one order that was close to 30 minutes late and another that was missing all the extra sauces. As a result, pickup orders are very frustrating. The other criticism I have is that the parking lot is very crowded and routinely spills out into the surrounding streets. The lot size is limited, so not much they can do but they could work with the city to repave the lot and color label certain areas. I hope more people check out Louis. It is a gem.

This is really delicious pizza. We are blessed in this area with a lot of great Pizza, and obviously a lot of great Detroit style Pizza, however, this place does set the bar very high. I ordered ahead of time and was shocked at how busy it was when I went to pick it up at opening. I ordered the double pepperoni pizza and a pepperoni cheese bread. My order was ready within a few minutes of when it was scheduled for so that was good. The cheese bread was fine. It was a little dry which isn't the best lol. Could have used a bit better pepperoni distribution as well. The pizza was very good. I liked the cup n char pepperoni a lot. Solid frico on the crust. Dough had nice flavor and I liked the proportions given. Would I drive 40 minutes total for this again? Probably not. I'm glad I tried it though because it is very good.

My wife first took me there in 1985. We had to go up to Detroit for a funeral. She grew up in Roseville so we always went to the one on 10 mile and Gratiot. This location was close to my hotel so I went by figured I'd grab a sub on the way to the airport. I had never been to this location before but they said they made steak sandwiches so I said give me a large one with everything on it which to me includes lettuce, tomato and banana peppers. The lady working behind the counter took outstanding care of me. She said it would take 10 minutes. I told her no problem you can't rush genius. We both laughed. She packaged this thing up nicely and I was out of there probably in less than 10 minutes. To say she took good care of me, felt like I was one of her kids cause that was the way my mom took care of me when I was little. I had to run a couple of other errands and finally got a chance to bite into it about 30 minutes later. Outstanding doesn't say enough. Definitely will hit this location again. Pro tip, if you're in the area, Saint Clair Shores has a great bakery, Bomarito's. If you need something sweet after the sub, they're a great place to go.

Another review stated this was. "Gas station pizza at best" and while I am akin to making my own…read morejudgements, this one is unfortunately correct. With one pizza, two subs, two orders of wings and an order of cheese stuffed pasta, I hoped for better tasting food. Everything was congealed. Everything. The pizza. Cold as ice. No warmth even on the box! My kids hated their pizza and the sauce. They ate one piece each and were done. They said it was gross and I couldn't fault them. The wings were a joke. They are not labeled as boneless, so I was surprised to find chicken nuggets with a swirl of sauce on them and then Parmesan garlic with what looked like microwaved sauce on them as well. Ew. The subs my family bought were a good size and that's where the 1 star comes into play, but that's it. They were cold and soggy. The order of stuffed shells was so cold I couldn't cut through the congealed cheese that was on top. I had to put it under my broiler to heat it up again. I will never order from here again. It was almost $60.00 and I could have microwaved food that tasted better. Don't waste your time or money. Support a 'mom and pop' shop that actually cares about their product. This was just flat-out-disgusting and disappointing.

Tonight we ordered the large pizza with slab of ribs, fries, and coleslaw. We were informed that…read morethey were cooking more ribs but it would be two hours until they were finished (which would have been around 9pm) or they could give us 3/4 slab they had ready and reduce the price by $5. We decided to do that so we could eat dinner before 9pm, figuring they must sell a lot of ribs so they must be good. On the pizza, we ordered pepperoni/green pepper. After getting the order home, we discovered that the ribs looked more like just over 1/2 slab (8 bones starting at the small end of the slab) and were dry with lots of fat. Definitely needed more sauce because once you got past the initial thin coating, it was dry pork and endless chewing to try to process the dry meat. We all agreed we wouldn't order these again. Fries were OK, coleslaw was inedible, it had either gone bad or they added too much vinegar, either way no one ate more than a first bite and it got thrown away. We had ordered a pepperoni/green pepper pizza but received a ham and bacon one instead. We ate it anyway, although this combo isn't our thing, it was ok but the slices were cut so there were skinny slices mixed with larger ones. It would have been more helpful in dividing things out of they would have at least been more uniform. Some may ask why we didn't call back up there and correct the situation, but at this point we had just spent over $30 and the time it took to go up there, we decided to deal with what we had since the family was hungry. The place was empty when we picked up so not sure what was going on tonight. Two stars - one for the pizza and one to recognize them for trying to give us a deal for the ribs they had available at the time of our order. It's a bummer that this meal wasn't more of a hit.

Upon entering, the staffer explained the set-up to enjoy a variety of beers, poured and priced by the volume. Located at the back of the restaurant, customers can select beer flavors and serve themselves, no bartender needed. A tab is started and charged based on usage, tracked through the wristband provided to you. I ordered over mobile via a QR code, selecting pretzel sticks with beer cheese dip and a large, Detroit-style pizza. The soft pretzels were tender with a lovely crusty exterior. I inhaled the first pretzel since it was past lunchtime, savoring the salty, cheesy bites. I must admit, the pretzels' saltiness temporarily affected my taste buds because the pizza had little flavor, even with the pepperoni, sausage, and olives. I definitely did not taste the hot honey drizzle. I want to praise the light, airy crust. For a deep dish pizza, it did not sit heavy in my tummy. I also appreciated that the pizza was served on a rack, to allow air circulation and to prevent sogginess. The space was dark and had both large communal tables and smaller, intimate tables. This allowed for larger groups to enjoy community beyond a friend group. The other plus is the board games that are available to pass the time while enjoying various beers.
