    Expresso Martini
    LaTanya G.

Went here with some friends. We created vision boards and had brunch. I had the scrambled eggs and bacon with the expresso martini and my friend had the french toast. Breakfast was good. We ended up staying for awhile and ordered lunch too (lol). I had the bbq chicken pizza and it was soo good. The staff has great customer service, very attentive. We went on a Sunday morning at 11:30. There was no line or wait to be seated. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They also have an awesome oldies playlist![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This was a delicious meal with absolutely HUGE portions!! Even though we got the "small" pasta size, it was enough to last 2 meals!! First, we were started off with a complimentary sourdough like bread that was incredibly soft on the inside. This was paired with herb infused olive oil. We got the tri colored tortellini, which was marinated in a beautiful creamy basil sauce and coated deliciously. They were so generous with the chicken!! The chicken scallopini picatta was also delicious with a lemon caper sauce and very tender chicken breasts. Loved the angel hair pasta it was served with! We were seated immediately on a weekday lunch with plenty of seats to spare. Our server was friendly and helped explain the menu. Highly recommend!!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great old style restaurant in Hyde Park.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was good, and the food was delicious. We regularly go out in Hyde Park and this is a favorite for a quick bite or a full dinner.

    Cheese lasagna with meat sauce

The food is good. We started out with bread and their olive oil herb blend which is one of the best I have had. My husband and I shared a sausage, pepperoni, and mushroom pizza. My friend had the Thai pizza amd her husband had the cheese lasagna with meat sauce. Both pizzas was really good. My friend was crazy about his lasagna. I had a margarita which was descent. The service was great. They were very attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance is like a little piece of Italy with different quotes painted on the walls. Really cute.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Huge portions sizes! We tried their deep dish pizza. I've never had it before, so I really enjoyed it! I had nothing to compare it to, but my friend, who's local also really enjoyed it, so I would say it was a solid deep dish! They serve bread, and oregano olive oil as a starter. The service was great, and it seemed like the server was reading our mind. He brought us everything before we could even ask - even down to chilli flakes, more water. Very attentive staff and an overall great experience :)

I don't understand why anyone would eat here. The food is below mediocre at best. Pizza game is weak. Service was decent.

You need to try the salads here!!! Probably my favorite salads in Chicago. And the free oil and bread is delicious.

Speaking of the bar, I got myself a pint of the Golden Road Mango Cart, which did have a fragrance of mangoes. I was a bit annoyed the bartender asked for my ID thinking I was a high schooler (I guess white people in Chicago generally don't have any meaningful relationship with Asians compared to other major cities because this wasn't a one time thing - and I've been to a lot of cities), but at least he tried to smooth it out with a joke. Fine, moving on. I got myself a personal deep dish pizza, since this joint is known for their caramelized crust, although I did wish I got myself a small instead so I can have it delivered in the pan itself. Maybe next time, but I did eat the whole thing. The sauce was more on the bitter and acidic side. The toppings aren't layered and hiding underneath cheese like some other places, which is fine, but I did think it could've used more mushrooms and a more even distribution of toppings considering how thick the bread is. Overall it was worth going out of my way to try it once, as it was highly recommended to me, I'd say it takes #2 so far of all the pizza places I've tried in Chicago. Granted, I didn't have time or didn't come with anyone to share a bunch of things, but maybe next time.

The wood‑paneled coziness,…read morethe dim lighting, the slightly chaotic entryway where a host with a clipboard controls the fate of your evening... it all sets the tone for a meal that's equal parts ritual and indulgence. They push the Mediterranean Bread, and honestly, you should let them. It's enormous, blistered, fragrant, and arrives like a hot air balloon made of carbs. More importantly, it gives you something genuinely delicious to tear into while you wait for the pizza pot pies to emerge from whatever subterranean chamber they're baked in. It's both a starter and a survival tool. A reservation is non‑negotiable unless you enjoy contemplating your own mortality in a weekend crowd. The wait times can stretch so long you could starve to death before your name is called -- and the regulars will nod knowingly as they step around your skeleton. Plan ahead. The salads are comically oversized, the kind of portions that make you wonder if they're meant for a family of four or a single very determined marathon runner. But let's be honest: no one is here for lettuce. We're all here for the pizza pot pie, that molten, bread‑wrapped, cheese‑laden dome of joy that defies every attempt at categorization. It's not deep dish, it's not thin crust -- it's its own thing entirely, and that's the point. This is the place you bring out‑of‑town guests when you want to show them something uniquely Chicago without defaulting to the usual deep‑dish suspects. But it's also the place you come back to on your own, because once you've had that pizza pot pie, it lives rent‑free in your brain until you return.
