Cool guys, but let's be real... There isn't much good pizza to be had in Plattsburgh. This place is great in terms of strategic location and open late night to accommodate Plattsvegas at night and last call. The food is mediocre at best during these hours. The characters around those hours is quite interesting. It just does the job. I'd much rather spend my money at Del's on a sandwich. Perhaps Bono is better during the daytime? I will give it a shot. Until then this review stands as an account of my experiences with them during those late night hours. read more

I called to add to an online order, as the item was not listed. The girl that answered the phone proceeded to take my credit card number (no other information like expiration date or anything) and tells me the card didn't go through, says, "I gotta go" and hangs up the phone. Legit HUNG UP ON ME. So I call back and she says, "We can't add to the order". This is what happens when you hire entitled children. Will not be ordering from this place again. read more

Went to Pizza Bono with a couple of newly-friended locals after a great day of celebrating the wedding of mutual friends. Being a native New Yorker who's been transplanted to DC, any NY pizza will be amazing in comparison to what I've gotten used to. Pizza Bono's takes it a step further, throwing the handful of cold, shredded mozzarella on top of the hot slice. Great for an after-party meal - just be sure to take a Tums before bed! Definitely suggest making Pizza Bono a stop during your trip to Plattsburgh. They're open late, so it's never too late to stop by. read more

Looks like a little hole in the wall, typical pizza joint that probably buys frozen dough... NOPE - instead you've got an authentic, REAL, slice of pizza. Top it off with the cold cheese - which was a new experience to me and totally makes my mouth water thinking about it while I write this review. The owner came out and I asked him - tell me about your sauce "you need good tomatoes for good sauce" They get imported San Marzano tomatoes - you know the ones from the volcanic region of Italy that are like the nuclear bomb of tomatoes just exploding with flavor. This is the best pizza I've had in the US - other than my grandmother's of course (but its damn close and she gets the same imported tomatoes from her home town of Naples, IT. If you live in this area, and get pizza anywhere other than Pizza Bono, I hope you choke on it. Seriously go get the pizza there. read more

moose says five stars all da way!!!! the gravy ( sauce) was perfect **contrary to other posts**as good as ive had in brooklyn read more

Worst service ever!!! I called 15 times before someone answered...I was immediately put on hold...There was so much noise in background...I had to yell into the phone to put my order in...He asked me to repeat my address three times...We ordered two calzones...We had to call back three different times to see where our order was...Person on the other line had the nerve to argue with me after telling me each time that our order was on it's way...He quickly switches me to management...Who very rudely tells me the order is on it's way...My house is less than five minutes away from the restaurant...Our two calzones took well over 2 hours to be delivered...Similar situation happened a month ago...Probably be another five years before I order from here again...Wasn't for drunk college kids probably wouldn't be in business!!! read more

Called in an order around 1:15AM this morning, and ordered a cheese pizza and a drink. Its been almost an hour and 20 minutes since then, so I called and I was told this entire time they were "waiting on a driver" You give them your number during the call, did anyone think "Hmm, maybe we should call them and let them know its going to be a bit late"? I suppose not. Sorry to say, I probably wont be ordering from them again. Especially since the food finally arrived and it was stone cold. I do not think I will be ordering here again, even though the food is fantastic (When its, you know, on time and hot still) read more

I went to pizza bono 2 times this week looking for some mediocre pizza. I'm black and I'm homeless, so I can't afford to be picky (otherwise trust me, I would be.) I spent all day on the street embarrassing myself, asking strangers for money so I might be able to get a hot meal. Each time I arrived at pizza bono's, I had my money visibly in my hand so that they knew I wasn't just looking to hang around for some free heat. Each time, they took one look at me and turned me away. I've never so much as given them a cross look, and yet they turn me away. The second time I was turned away, however, I heard someone mutter something as I walked away calmly. I turned around and asked them to speak up if they had something to say to me. He looked me dead in the eyes and said "you people" aren't welcome here. I'm not sure if it's my race or my socioeconomic status that he took an issue with, but nonetheless I was being discriminated against. I will never return to this disgusting excuse for a pizza joint, and I hope everyone finds out about the rats in there soon. I'm writing this off of mcdonalds wifi, where I was greeted with a smile. f#%$ you pizza bono, see you in hell read more

Great food, we loved everything we had. Marinara was delicious. Nice people, they delivered right to the door and the delivery driver was polite and courteous. Stromboli was baked perfectly. Thanks pizza bono! read more

I have been a loyal customer for years. Over the last several months I have noticed many mistakes when I order. I always just dealt with it. Last week I had ordered two pizza specials. Which is one large one topping pizza and 20 wings. When I got my food I was only given 20 wings instead of 40. I called and spoke to the owner who was very rude and hung up on me. Needless to say they lost a loyal customer. Very bad customer service and the quality of food has gotten horrible. read more

Some pizza sauce on the pizza would be appreciated. I mean WTF. In the trash this went, again. Lesson learned despite giving it another try.

AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! they will roll their eyes as if you're offending them when they take your order. They have decent food but the service is so bad i will never go back. read more

This is the second time I've ordered from here and they take over 2 hours to come. When I call to ask where my order is the girl on the phone gives me a nasty attitude. And to top it off, three of my friends and myself woke up the next morning with food poisoning from this place. Don't go here, stick with dominos. They have fast service and care about their customers read more

BBQ Wings are large and so tasty. Had a salad pizza and it was really good. Everyone else had pizza and I was told it was as good as NYC!! They serve beer and the typical Italian items here as well. Would visit again. read more

Pizza was good ( for upstate NY VT); "girl" who waited on me (Sunday Night 6 ish) had personality of a dead rock. Stared at me when i walked in, said nothing; I ordered 2 slices; she said: "Five" ( I said to my self: It Talks, good sign) ; Handed me change; when pizza was ready handed me the box. Not even thanks? Too painful? As I said pizza was good read more

Don't ever get delivery two hours before closing. It takes mad long for them to deliver and they are rude.

Absolutely delicious chef salad as well and pizza and bread! Service and prices are great!

DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!!!! I ordered a chef salad that was a pile of lettuce literally. I called to say I wasn't satisfied and was accused of eating the salad and trying to get a refund. I asked if he was serious?? He said, " Yes, I am serious!". Pizza was like cardboard with cheese. Never again! I suggest you save your money. If I could give a minus star, I would! read more

Well let's see I have no idea if the pizza is any good, and as I called in a order at 11:20 tonight and it's now 12:50 am and 2 phone calls later they tell me it's still on its way, Guess it's time to go to sleep hungry Won't be ordering there any time again read more

Service of this level is not expected at a pizzeria. The young men were very helpful and even brought some "house bread" while we waited for our slices to warm up. The pizza is thin crust and quite tasty. there were at least 10 options in the case. read more

The pizza is...okay...thick crust, the sauce is a little sweet. They have good specialty slices that taste especially good when your feeling a little weird. It's a little pricey for a pizza place. The reason I'm giving this a higher rating than I'd like to is because of the cold cheese. I am a cheese aficionado and the cold cheese slice really gets me. They are located in the middle of all of the bars and is the perfect place to go for food after a late night. There are a lot fights that arise from hungry drunk people and just people in general. I've seen a late night bagel place that had a bouncer, maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea for this place. read more

Not great, not bad. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The prices were reasonable for the basic array of Italian-American dishes. The food was OK, but nothing I would consider outstanding. It was very noisy. Not a good place to carry on a conversation. The side salads were better than most restaurants of this type in the area. My wife had spaghetti and meatballs which were tasty, moist and well portioned. They did lack a little spice, but at least they were not tough and chewy like so many Italian-American restaurants' meatballs are. A friend had a small pepperoni pizza which she said was tasty, but not as good as previous times she had been there. She said the crust was thicker than usual. I had the nightly special, seafood marinara. The portion was ample for the price. The sauce was not a marinara. It was more of a broth with fresh tomatoes added. Unfortunately it was too thin to stick to the pasta. It either needed to be reduced or have marinara added to give it some body. The seafood was shrimp, scallops, calamari, clams and mussels. Unfortunately all were precooked and then cooked again when ordered. The shrimp and clams survived the overcooking reasonably well, but the scallops were dry, the calamari were rubbery and the mussels were mealy and fishy tasting. I wasn't expecting much, since this place focuses on their pizza business more than other dishes. So, I wasn't terribly disappointed, but I had hoped for a little more. If you go, stick to the pizza and salad. Venturing beyond that will yield mixed results. If you stick to simple things, you probably can't go wrong. read more

Used to order once a week, and would always leave a hefty tip every time for delivery guys. One night- owner/ shitbag manager(?) told me cold food we waited for about 2 hours was acceptable. Will never come back. If you like frozen pizza, mozzarella sticks (frozen, without marinara), and wings frozen but delivered- this is the place. Still tipped the delivery guy 7 bucks because he looked as nervous as I did when the pizza finally made it! Through the ice age and into my toaster oven it went. What a waste of my time. Never again. Ended up giving a kings portion to my dog where it belongs. She seemed happy enough! read more

On my way home to Montreal from Plattsburgh airport, ended up here on a whim and was pleasantly surprised! The cheese pizza had a thin, just-crisp-enough crust, the meatballs were really tasty and the salad was fresh. Our waitress was really friendly and contributed to our positive experience. The decor is not on point but obviously, this is a super casual/fast-food joint so it really doesn't matter. I'd make it a point to return here next time I'm in town! read more

Was walking and remembering our college days here and coming to celebrate our sons birthday. Fantastic pizza located next door to what we knew as Brothers which is now Bono Plaza.(? I think) Great crust great sauce and memories...will be back read more

Decent pizza, nothing to write home about especially coming from NYC where they have the most amazing pizzas. The cold-cheese pizza is worth a try, if you're adventurous. Had a couple pies from there this weekend and they kind of taste like a mix of frozen pizza and NYC pizza, which is not really what good pizza should taste like. Good thing you usually only eat it when you're kinda buzzed. read more

Best pizza in plattsburg and really good prices. The crust and the sauce is so good and they make the pizza pretty quick.

Pizza Bono is hands down the BEST!!!!! pizza in Plattsburgh. They are ALWAYS open during every storm, holiday and VERY, VERY late at night. If you are coming out of a bar or nightclub this is THE place to go. Very small, clean no frills pizza with dine in or take out. Outdoor seating outside on Margaret Street with endless entertainment if you are into people watching. You will find everyone here from people in business suits next to people in tank tops. They offer pizza by the slice and VERY reasonable prices. There is a full service bar attached next door. Staff are very fast and responsive but not always the most friendly. They take cash and credit cards and there is an ATM located right in the restaurant. Absolutely one of the gems of downtown Plattsburgh. read more

Bono's is great! It has delicious pizza for cheap. They accept Cardinal Cash which is a plus! The buffalo chicken slice was yummy but anything there is good! read more

I like New York style pizza these guys provide that plenty of toppings to choose from and a bunch of specialty pizzas. And the sizes are generous. Salads and appetizers are also very good. Only downfall is the parking. read more

Fast friendly service, good environment and the food was great! The slices of pizza and huge and taste amazing as well!

Had Pizza Bono pizza years ago quite frequently. Best pizza in Plattsburgh. I've been vegan for 5 years so I haven't had it since. Went to the attached Bono Lounge last night and loved it! What a great job they did with the renovations. Now I am hoping upon hope that they can be convinced to offer vegan cheese as one of their options. That would be so awesome. read more

My favorite restaurant for pizza. Delivery is completed within acceptable time limits. Friendly delivery drivers. Delicious house dressing for salad. After ordering complete dinners, ask for Zeppolies for dessert. You won't be disappointed. read more

Where do I begin? I grew up eating this pizza and loving it, but coming home and experiencing it again was a terrible decision. Firstly, it takes a hour and a half for the pizza to get here. It's the middle of the day on a Friday, you can't be that busy. When the food finally does arrive it is cold... By far the worst gluten free pizza I have ever had... Not only was the pizza terrible, there is defiantly some cross contamination happening there because I now feel terrible. Thank you for ruining my trip home Bono! Long story short the next time I come back to visit the Burgh I will not be ordering from you. Celiac people beware!! They will get you! read more

Good food for drunk people that don't care about what their food tastes like. Super greasy, just pours off the pizza, soda tastes weird from their fountain machine... Like I said, it's okay for if you're drunk and just wanna get something greasy to sober you up a bit. read more

Bought a slice of pizza and it was arguably one of the best ones I ate in my entire life. I will try to stop by this place the next time I am in the US. Very friendly as well. read more
