Raw calzone, smelled of so much garlic it was probably inedible if cooked anyway. Waited 50 minutes and was not greeted and my order sat on a counter getting cold, and they apologized and handed it to me anyway and then refused to remake it. felt bad for the guy who brought his kids in. Drunk people coming in and out of the restaurant and slumped in chairs outside. Disgusting service, and haven't eaten here in a long time, now I plan on continuing to not do so. read more

Pizza Bono - raw calzone - Pizza Near Me - Plattsburgh, New York

Visited the wife's college town and had to hit a few spots up. Living in florida has made good pizza hard or come by so i was pumped to be in new york for a few days. Finally tried "cold cheese" (topping) pizza which was fine but not my style lol. Also ordered a buffalo chicken slice which was a go to back in my hometown in southern NY. It's definitely worth a stop if looking for a good slice, albeit i didn't really go anywhere else to compare it to. My wife ordered stuff shells which were a bit overloaded with ricotta (i get that some people may love that lol) but i lost the flavor of the sauce. They do by the slice but we did opt to sit and dine in, and our waitress was terrific. The entire vibe is what we lack down in florida, the old brick oven pizzas and down to earth employees. I'd like to return and try some other specialty pizzas and perhaps another entree or sub read more

My wife and I are new to the area and decided to order out. We know the pizza here will not be anything like the pizza we used to in NYC, as we have had some of the best pizzas near our home in Queens. However, with that being said, I was pleasantly surprised. The pizza was delicious. With pizza being my favorite food, we will try all the other pizzas in the area, and honestly, I hope they are as good as the one I got from Bono. read more

A big fat zero. Food was nasty upon delivery and they don't care a thing about customer service. A drunk delicacy at best, and that's being generous. Zero stars even though they force you to give one to post review. read more

Went to this place a week ago and very disappointed. I haven't been here in a couple of years. Is it's gone down hill. It used to have excellent pizza but now just fair. I'm thinking they sold the place. Well I guess all good things must come to an end. read more

very disappointed in the service overall... coming from a service industry worker. the two female bartenders who were there on Tuesday night were terrible. as a visitor, i was shocked by the service i received. unsure of how locals deal with that uncomfortable environment. red hair girl and brunette with glasses were serving people the whole night... I went there with my guy friend for a few drinks while visiting and he was the only one who was addressed by the bartenders. he wasn't by my side when I was ordering a drink, and I was completely ignored for over 40 minutes. I understand servicing the bar on a busy night is a lot, but I was patient and kind and still received absolutely nothing. the two bartenders paid no attention when I tried to get their service... overall have no reason to return and nothing but negative reviews, not having tasted their food, but seeing their employees in action. employees should be reminded of proper etiquette.... read more

The only place I really like pizza in Plattsburgh. I like to go while I wash my clothes down the street and get a slice and soda or early evening to play darts with friend and have a few drinks. Last time we were the only people and they let us hook to the speaker and play our own music read more

First time here I am from the city. I had chicken Parmesan. And it was amazing. The service was amazing. Nicholas was my server attentive to my needs, and what I wanted to eat. I recommend this place very highly. read more

Last night placed an order around midnight for delivery for 5 subs 3 of which were suppose to have extra meat came out to look like a subway sub with 3 pieces of meat... A couple of the subs were suppose to be extra turkey extra mayo and that was it... one of them was a dry sub with shaving of what they say is turkey, it tasted horrid. The other might as well have been a dry sub... and they added lettuce for some reason. The other 3 subs were absolutely disgusting and not worth anything... I mean one of our subs had a bread tie in the box. We called to let them know and the lady that answered the phone simply said "sorry they are bad we are extremely busy, call Sal tomorrow to complain." Yeah not happening again thanks for stealing our hard earned money for something that looked and tasted like you took it out of the trash. Most of the subs we didn't even eat. read more

They are very rude and old fashioned when it comes to serving and paying. The old man there seems to think this is still Italy and doesn't understand how today's technology works. All the other workers there are nice except for him. L pizza L food. read more

Very good food! My wife had the white pizza and I had the eggplant Parm. The side salad was one of the best I've ever had.

I traveled to Plattsburgh and was looking for a place where I could get something for me and something for my kids. When traveling, I always try to support local businesses, but this experience is justification for the opposite! I call Monday evening and try to order my kids individual pizzas and a pasta dish for me. While the person is taking my order, someone barks from the background, No Pasta after 8! So, I was bummed, but told them never mind I'll try again another time. This is stated nowhere on the menu but oh well. The next day, I call at 7:12 PM and they take my order. They tell me 25-30 minutes. So I get there, and there's two people eating dinner in the dining room, two people waiting for their to go orders, and one person in line in front of me. There's three people working behind the counter and the older man who seemed to be in charge who was cooking was completely unmasked. I don't want to be "that" person and I'm fully vaccinated and starving, so I'm not going to make a big deal. After waiting 10 minutes, I get up to the counter (it's 7:55 now) and they the nice lady behind the counter cannot find my order. She says something to the older gentleman and then comes back to me and says "I'm sorry, he didn't have a chance to make yours yet. It will be another 20 minutes." I thanked her but explained, I couldn't wait 20 minutes as my kids were in the car waiting for me. She apologized and said it was due to the dinner rush. Really? It was a Tuesday night and not busy in there at all! Maybe they're great for pizza, but I will never know! read more

Pizzas are very large and crust is good. I couldn't find any meatballs on the pizza and it's a good thing there's barely any sauce because it was very salty. Person on the phone was very short and rude and seemed put out that I actually wanted to pay over the phone because my teenager was picking it up. Overall good, not great. read more

They don't even deserve a star. Disrespectful and incompetent. I waited 1 and a half hour for my food to be delivered and it never came. All American pizza hole in the wall. Real Italians, real mozzarella, tons of attitude. To be honest, pizza doesn't get much better than this anywhere else in the country...and no...Long Island pizza isn't that great, neither is the shit in the city made by non Italians. Late at night you can sit and listen to the drunken "plattswords" of wisdom or you can get a speedy delivery. Pizza Bono - Ugh - Pizza Near Me - Plattsburgh, New York

We stopped here for our date night dinner after driving around NY for a while. As soon as you walk in, you are tempted by a large selection of slices to pick from or you can sit down and pick from a menu. We sat down and after a short time browsing the menu we ordered. Chicken Alfredo for my husband, stuffed shells for me and a side of garlic bread with cheese. First thing we got was a some of their house made bread, then we waited and waited for our main dishes. The food was a 5 out of 5, the stuffed shells were piping hot and freshly made, right out of the oven! My husband loved his alfredo saying it was light, creamy and not overly flavorful, it worked out well. The garlic bread was buttery, cheesy and perfect. The salad was fresh, the cheese was really good and the ranch seemed heavenly, creamy and thick. Perfect for salad or dipping a slice of pizza in. I also got a cannoli to go. It made for a awesome wake up snack after a long nap, the cannoli was one of the best I've had! Now for our issue: a 50 ish minute wait. It felt like we were there for so long, people coming and going as we are just there waiting. Afterwards, while taking a walk around and grabbing a coffee for the hour-long trip home, we discussed the rating for yelp, 3 1/2 stars but since there are no half stars we opted for 3, that was before the cannoli. It was just so good! Now 4 stars! All and all, if you are strapped for time get a slice! If you have the time, the pasta is worth it. I really want to try their pizza next time we are in the area! read more

Horrible rude customer service. We entered the restaurant and sat down, since there isn't a host. We were not even greeted by a waitress, since the staff seemed too busy playing darts instead of serving customers. instead we were told very rudely to leave because my friend, who has celiac disease, was eating outside food. They only did this because pizza bono is not safe for those with gluten allergies, and they wanted to come along with us to talk. We had no chance to explain this because this because after the guy told us to leave, he immediately walked away. My friend was very embarrassed and was already having a hard time because their disease doesn't allow them to eat with friends. Staff were too busy playing darts to help us as we sat there waiting to be greeted. Gave up and decided to order takeout - as we were waiting a lady pulled up, walked into the kitchen, and without washing her hands and with no gloves grabbed a slice of pizza from the pizza they were serving and starting eating it in the kitchen ... literally disgusting. Food is also kinda gross. Eat here if you want horrible customer service, okayish food, and to see multiple health code violations! read more

Very poor customer service on the phone. I ordered a supreme pizza and received a calzone pizza. I was told that I cannot receive the new pizza and should be grateful I got a more expensive pizza when I gave the delivery driver a good tip. Very disrespectful owner. I was a fan of their "cold -cheese" slices back in the 90s after a night out. Fast-Forward to today when I'm older, wiser and have more sophisticated taste buds and that cold-cheese slice is still delicious. I'm sure the ownership has changed along with the recipes but I enjoyed every bite. If you're wondering what is this cold-cheese slice...it's a piping hot slice of cheese pizza that's topped with a handful of cold shredded mozzarella as soon as it comes out of the oven. The contrast between molten-hot bubbly cheese topped with cold cheese that melts just oh-so-slightly is amazing. This review is for that fabulous slice only. read more

Was visiting cousins for the New Year celebration. One of them said that we have to try Pizza Bono. I'll admit that I was thinking "Heck, how could a pizza joint in this small town be as good as one from a much bigger city?" I was wrong to be such a pessimist. Ordered a combination. Incredible! My only tip is this: if your a meat-loving Canadian and used to Canadian quantities of pepperoni, order triple pepperoni here. read more

Spent a portion of my youth in NJ so I know what good pizza is and Bono is it. Lots of other good things on the menu too. Late night, after the bars close, this place is mobbed with PSU students wanting a slice with "Cold Cheese" - yep, a nice slice of hot pizza topped with a generous hand full of cold mozzarella. Highly recommend trying the BBQ chicken pizza by the slice. Have drinks, beer, red bull, and slushies. read more

I ordered spaghetti carbonara, a roast beef sub some fries a chef salad and garlic bread. I called to add to an online order, as the item was not listed. The girl that answered the phone proceeded to take my credit card number (no other information like expiration date or anything) and tells me the card didn't go through, says, "I gotta go" and hangs up the phone.
