Swamp Daddy with EX Shrimp
NewOrleans 1.

The location is in a great spot . Walking in the restaurant was very clean . The stuff was very helpful and inviting. The service was friendly, fast and nice. I placed my order. My pizza was very good. The ingredients were fresh and tasty. I will be back.

Gave this place another try. Still not good. When we got there, the staff just stared at us for a minute. Eventually someone walked over and slowly took our order. It took forever for them to make our pizza, and they still are VERY stingy with their toppings. (Unlike LIT, where they whip out those pizzas and are quite generous with the toppings). Another turn off, CHEESE counts as a topping. What's that about? Just allow 6 toppings and don't count cheese as one. Also, the pizza was not cooked well (veggies still relatively raw). And the overall flavor was only ok. I wouldn't waste my time here unless they change a lot of things, both concerning service and food.

Menu has lots to choose from

7-22-2021: After destroying a delicious Swamp Daddy I'm updating this review to a 5. Great service, delicious food, and impressed every guest I've brought here thus far. 6-11-2021: A delicious fig & pork pizza, Ghost In the Machine on tap, and I'm suppose to give this place a bad score because they just opened and their crew isn't running at 100%? Nah, in fact I'll keep it at a 4 until I get a few more visits to this fine establishment to determine consistency. We got a Fig-n Awesome pizza and a BBQ Chicken pizza: Their pizza crust has a nice chew, not too thick or thin, helping hold toppings well (other places in town have a problem with that.) The toppings we had were fully cooked and yummy, and the sauces on our pizzas were applied lightly as to not overpower the rest of the flavors going on (other places in town have a problem with that.) My patience was rewarded on this first visit as it took about 10 minutes from payment to pizza. I'm actually digging the creativity of their take on the small-build pizza shop as alot of the specialties here have a Cajun/Creole flair. Boudin pizza permanently on the menu? Crab, shrimp, and crawfish with sauce piquant as a base? Yeah, I'll be back - and I'll report how well they pair with a pint of Ghost

Yummy ingredients on display to choose from

Came here around 4pm as my daughter's elementary school was doing a giveback/fundraiser here. Grabbed a Marguerita pizza and chicken pesto Alfredo pasta bowl to go. We were greeted even though the 2 workers were helping others. Warm, inviting atmosphere(guess I say that as it was cold outside lol), good music with a tv showing what songs were playing, lots of other tvs too, open and clean environment.

This place is legit and that's how I'm starting this review off. They recently just opened and I have seen a coworker/friend post about how good it was at the other location outside of BR so when they opened here I had to go try it out. Worth it. They have a beer wall (is this the new thing with all the new restaurants?) and kiosk you can order at without talking to anyone. A nice option if you don't want to be bothered or there is a long line. You can create your own pizza or pick a prefixed one. There are other options such as wings and I believe I saw bowls/salads so something for everyone. Ordering process was easy and the cashier answered all my questions without seeming annoyed which is a plus. We got our food pretty quick and it was good. It is similar to Lit but I give this place a step above. The pizza sauce and toppings are good! The crust is thin but it holds it better than most pizza spots like it. Big plus to me. Overall we spent a little bit more but the quality was there to cover it. They also have wings which is a score bc I like pizza and wings together. Would highly recommend this spot.

First started eating this in Lafayette, La when I lived there & it was my favorite. I love the specialty pizzas but you still have the "Create your own" option. The drink options for wine & beer is very extensive, I would love some lemonade for an option. The inside is super clean & the kid friendly hand washing station gets me every Time. This place was very clean & calm, I actually seen someone working inside! Great environment for that too.

I ordered through a food delivery app, so I can't speak to the service of the restaurant itself (the order was right and my driver didn't have any issues picking it up though). I can't really speak to the ambiance of the space either since I didn't go in person to pick it up. But the food was pretty good. I know that all pizza isn't created equal. I had never eaten here so I erred on the side of caution and got a basic set of toppings, and I thought it was pretty good. It tasted fresh and satisfied my craving for pizza.

BOGO Tuesday special offer when you sign up for their Loyalty Program via the Pizza Artists website.

Love Pizza Artista Baton Rouge! Super crisp crust and a multitude of topping options. Some toppings are what you'd see at any other pizza place, but others are more exotic like crawfish or Philly steak. They have a modest upcharge for the fancier toppings. They even have GREEN olives which I love since I can't stand black olives. Staff is super friendly and service is quick. The restaurant and restrooms are extremely clean and well maintained. Several TVs on the walls around the rooms. They seem to mostly play sports channels but I don't go on family day, where other channels may be run. They recently installed an interesting hand washing machine near the soda fountains. I'm guessing it's mostly for the kids that visit with their families because it's a no touch washing station - interesting and fun to use. For the adults they have on tap IPA beers, a fairly large variety. Just get a card when you order your pizza and you scan at each time you pull a glass (or partial glass) of a different beer, and you pay for whatever you've drunk/pulled before you leave. If you sign up for their loyalty program through their website, you'll get text messages regarding special offers. My favorite is the Tuesday special which is a buy one get one pizza free. I often eat one at the restaurant and then bring the other one home to warm up for lunch / dinner the next day. I've even put them in bags in the freezer to warm up later and they still taste yummy. As good or better then LIT pizza and with a loyalty program a better bargain if you take advantage of their texted specials.

The food is good! I ordered the shrimp pasta bread bowl using a crazy uber eats deal, and it was delicious. The serving sizes are pretty large, and they don't hold back on the seasoning. I'll definitely order from here again!

Mac-N-Cheese Calzone
Jessica O.

Great service and food. This was my second time here. Excellent service both times. I liked the pizza I had last time, BBQ Chicken, better than the mac&cheese calzone, but it was still good. The calzone dough was very good, not too thick. Would def come again!

Artista: red sauce, pepperoni, Italian sausage, green peppers, olives, onions, mozzarella, sans the ham. extra mozzarella, Provolone, pesto

I looked around and saw that all of the tables inside were reserved and we were lucky enough to be seated on the patio, where there were also a good number of tables reserved. It wasn't too bad being outside because they had some space heaters, and the table we were at had a nice view of the sunset. There was also live music, which to us was a huge plus. Our server was Chloe, and she was great! Attentive enough that we never had to wait for anything, and very pleasant. We started with a mule for me and an espresso martini for my friend. She says it's one of the best, if not the best, espresso martini she has had in Baton Rouge. My mule was the just strong enough to hit the spot. As far as our food goes, we loved how fresh the bruschetta tasted and how the meatballs practically melted in your mouth. My friend preferred the Lil Peppa because she liked their red sauce a lot and I preferred the salsiccia con potate (mozzarella, Italian sausage, roasted potatoes and rosemary with a white sauce) because I found the flavor combinations interesting. I favored the tiramisu, while she favored the cannoli. We were both in agreement that we would come back and get all of these again, so they were all winners to us.

There's no organization to what anyone is doing. The dining room tables aren't bussed and about five walk-ins and me are waiting for online orders. There's nobody directing the kitchen and no front-end person catering to the three tables there. Now I've worked in restaurants for half my working life and some in grad school. These deficiencies are exacerbated by not having a firm managerial hand. It's what happens when everyone is in their 20s with little to no experience in the world reacting to a rush rather than being proactive. There's no reason why I should wait 20 mins for two pizzas when I get there after ordering it 15 mins prior to leaving my house just down the street and 5 or 6 staff working. There were enough people to handle the rush if they had more leadership and direction. That's the sad part.

The service was great and the vibe is nice. There are some menu modifications like the initial smoked wings now being fried and a slight variation in the wing sauces. The new pizza crust has too much cornmeal in the recipe. The old thin crust was the way to go with minimal cornmeal if it had it at all before. Cheese sticks were slightly burnt at the bottom and too much cornmeal in its crust also. Wings were good but my family and I prefer the smoked vs fried a hundred times over. Hot honey wing sauce was delicious. Decent visit overall but honestly not a huge fan of the food changes other than the location. Will try again soon.
