That recipe for Spaghetti sauce does NOT include red pepper. Black only at low amounts. If a child were to try to consume this sauce they would choke because I did as a full grown adult. I've been here several times now and I love this place. I've only eat at the bar but the service is outstanding. They have the best French fry's there a must try. There fire wings bring just the right heat for me. They also have fresh baked to order pizza that's as good as any pizza in this town. Frequent visitor of the uncle Johnny's pop and never disappointed! Last night we ordered the cheese bread sticks and a large meat lovers and it was delicious. I was worried we wouldn't have enough time, but we called at 8:30 for a to go order and it was ready in 20 min, hot and fresh. Uncle Johnny's is so good, I often joke that Plaquemine doesn't deserve it! From the pizza, to the wings, to the burgers - I've never been disappointed in the quality and taste of anything on the menu. My go-to's are the wings (any flavor), the appetizer Cheese Sticks add pepperoni, or the Cheeseburger. Their fries are like higher quality McDonald's ones. They also have a pretty well stacked lunch buffet with cookies! They even offer a cauliflower crust, which is so good! Love the food and the dine-in service is great, but take out is so poor. Even before the virus started, we have experienced issues with how long it takes for a take out order to be ready. This time, we ordered a pizza, they said 30 minutes, we get there to pick it up and it hasn't even been put in the oven yet... This is a recurring issue with whoever is running the kitchen. We went to Uncle Johnny's on a Saturday afternoon, a little past the peak of the lunchtime crowd. It looked like they'd been pretty busy, as there were a lot of the tall tables and chairs open, but the regular tables (you know, the ones with chairs in which short people like me can sit and have their feet touch the floor) were all either occupied or in need of cleaning. It looked like there was one server/bartender working at the time, and she had her hands full, but she kindly cleared a table when I requested it. My husband said she probably could have used some help! They had a buffet, which looked pretty good, but we opted to order off the menu. We had to wait a while for our food, but our server was so kind and so clearly busting her tail to get everything done, we didn't mind. There was football on the TV, so we just watched a game while we waited. My husband ordered a salad, and it came out first. Y'all, that is no side salad. The server brought a plate along with his bowl of salad, and that bowl was so full of greens and veg and goodness that he had to dump it out on the plate to eat it. Everything in the salad was fresh and tasty. I ordered the veggie calzone with Italian sausage added. It was worth the wait. That calzone was chock full of onions and a variety of peppers, and you could tell the dough was fresh made. I'm a fan of another pizza establishment on the Westside, but for the flavor and freshness of the dough, Uncle Johnny's has the other place beat. Made fresh really does make a difference. I see more visits to Uncle Johnny's in our future - we just won't plan to go when we're on a tight schedule! read more

This place doesn't look like anything special when you pass by, but I am so glad I decided to stop in the other day! The food was great, I was a fan of the burgers and chicken wings, but I am sure everything else is just as good!! The staff working gave you a family-like feel and everyone was so personable. My waitress was a nice blonde girl, Savannah I think, and she was the sweetest, not to mention super attentive. My glass was never not full and she continued to check on me throughout my meal. Overall, I have a great experience here and would recommend it to anyone on that side of town! 10/10! read more

I work in the area and we order from there frequently. At best, they are inconsistent. Not sure if its a problem with the waitstaff or the kitchen but once again we order and food missing and orders incorrect. Attempted 2 times to call back to try to get orders corrected, no answer; 3rd time Whitney picks up and asked to hold, proceeded to hold for 15 minutes and no one comes back to phone. Came here on 10/27/15 at about 6:00 after working all day, for wing night. Was planning on going to bdubs but decided to give them a try. I called first to ask about the wing night and the server i think named Miranda told me they were 39 cents a piece on the phone. Sounded like a great deal so we went, when we got in they seemed very busy. When our server (miranda) finally brought us menus i asked once again if the wings were really 39 cents and she said yes so we ordered 24 of them Nuke and Hot and some cheese bread appetizer. they werent very hot or very filling so we ordered 24 more. The second 24 were probably twice as hot as the first and had us burning while we waited for our server to finally refill our drinks. When i went to check out after waiting on our server for about 15 minutes after we finished, she said my total was like $60. Turns out the wings arent 39 cents like she told us TWICE but they are 69 cents which is almost double what we agreed to pay, all she had to say was oh, theyre 69 cents. Then she begins to read me the receipt and when she gets to cheese bread we realize that we never even got our appetizer that shes also trying to charge us for! Will definitely never return to this place, getting screwed too much since ive been in Plaquemine, cant seem to find decent service anywhere read more
