    Zucchini Bread and fruit tart
    Jackie D.

Well apparently 11 years ago me went to Ninos for restaurant week with my sister too! I believe Nino's has had some ownership changes since then but I can attest these owners and staff are so eager to please! The owner came up to our table when we first sat down for lunch and talked us through the restaurant week menu - I'm so glad because we took her suggestions and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Our selections: 1. Carabaccia - an Italian French onion soup. Amazing. My favorite is the very thought out way that the toast was on top rather than soggy in the soup. Genius. 2. Croque Milano - good but I think the pesto overpowered the sandwich. Reallllly enjoyable the next day. Dipping sauce for the gnocchi was 10/10 but wanted a little more pop of flavor from the gnocchi itself. 3. Fruit tart and zucchini bread - fruit tart was perfect because I love a fruit tart and when it's well executed it's amazing. This zucchini bread though was elite. Definitely toasted in a little butter before serving. So. Good. I'll definitely be back and I love that they are open for lunch now!

Everything was amazing! It's a small place so pretty intimate and the literal only drawback of the night was that it can get a little noisy when every table is filled. Everything else was phenomenal. Drew, our waiter was soo nice and very informative. The service was top notch. So many people coming to the table for waters, clear plates etc. they apologized for a delay we didn't even realize had happened. Now the food was amazing! Homemade everything. We got the burrata caprese, Ninos Caesar salad, Cap ribeye special with pesto rigatoni and the pescatore pasta. Can't say enough about how good everything was! The Dressing on the salad was out of this world. You can really tell it's all made from scratch. The fish, shrimp, mussels and scallops were cooked perfectly. The steak was delicious and the homemade pasta was incredible. We got the chocolate decadence cake for dessert and it has a little hint of chile that really warms your throat at the end and was surprisingly nice. So glad we tried it finally! Best Italian in Baton Rouge by far.

Our first trip to Nino's certainly will not be our last! You can't go wrong with seasonal, farm to table ingredients and top notch service. We felt welcomed from the second we arrived and were impressed by the attention to detail and quality of the food throughout our entire meal. The food and service were impeccable and we can't wait to visit again!

Our server Drew was phenomenal and very knowledgable! The food was fantastic and the cocktails were quick to come out, definitely coming back!

    Cap steak special

Why haven't we eaten here before? The service is the best, Paige was so friendly and nice to chit chat with us. Anything on the menu is so fresh. We had the burrata and it was amazing. I had the cap steak special and my husband had the fish and seafood pasta. My spicy gouda pasta was the best I've ever eaten. Make reservations and go!!

My first time in LA, this restaurant was highly recommended. It was a Monday night and it was…read moreextremely busy, it had a full bar and low dime lights. We were a party of two and were told that the wait would be 15-20 minutes. We waited 42 minutes to be seated. When we were finally seated the table had a horrible wobble, the waitress was clearly over worked, flustered, and confused when she came over to take our order. We were very simple, we stuck with water and immediately ordered only entrees. I ordered the chicken parmigiana, the salads took about 24 minutes to come out along with bread and was immediately followed out by our entrees 7 minutes later. The person I was dining with ordered the cheese lasagna with meatball; she said it was delicious. My chicken parmigiana however, was completely charred. I told one bite and was hit with the taste or BURNT breadcrumbs. The following information is why I rated this a 1 star. The person I was dining with flagged down the hostess because the server didn't check on us. She informed the hostess that the chicken was burnt, without a single word the hostess reached across the table and began to walk away, a different server saw the interaction and asked what happened. I said my chicken was burnt, again without saying anything to us, she walked over to the hostess and whispered to her. They both then headed to the kitchen. Again, they did NOT say anything to me or the person I was with. About 5 minutes later our waitress finally comes to the table and asked where my plate was, I explained about the chicken and she responded, let me check on it. NO ONE apologized to me, gave me a time frame for the remake, or even try to offer an excuse. They just walked away from us. When the waitress returned with the food, she set it down, and said "there you go" and walked away again. I paid for our meals and we left. In customer service, the expectation is to at a bare minimum l, apologize for the issue and tell me you'll rush the remake (even if you can't rush it). But to just not acknowledge us, it was very disappointing. An older gentleman had been roaming the restaurant, previous to us being seated, talking up customer and solving problems, I would guess he was either the owner or a manager. Either way, he was very active on the floor but he didn't even approach us after the issue. Again, VERY bad experience. I don't think I'll be revisiting this restaurant during my next visit to Baton Rouge.

The service was decent, and our waitress was lovely even while managing her chaotic, busy night. The specials did not disappoint; I would wait a million hours for this roasted garlic bread if I had to! The shrimp penne special was a creamy sauce with some greens and was really delicious! If you don't like garlic in your food I would avoid this spot! I would come back during a less busy time of the day.

When we entered the restaurant the hostess stand was super friendly as usual. Unfortunately, our table was miserably small and in very close proximity to a large table and a wall which essentially made us "sandwiched in". The noise in the room was horribly loud and hard to have a conversation with our guests. The server was fine however, was not as friendly as we are used to and that was a bit of a disappointment. However, the man refilling our water was fabulous, upbeat and very courteous. The food was amazing and is always consistent! When we are spending $150 on a check for 2, I want the entire fabulous dining experience which I had always felt like I got in the past. Anyway, to reiterate, I love the location, the vibe, the delicious food. Just was not a good choice for conversation and personal space. Also, even though the server was efficient, we did not get that warm and friendly vibe we are used to.

We started with the famous crabmeat cheesecake, and it was every bit as decadent as people say--rich, savory, and unforgettable. For our entrées, we split the chicken parmesan and a medium-rare filet mignon topped with Marsala mushrooms, plus a side of chili-glazed Brussels sprouts. Everything was so good we literally ate until we were uncomfortably full... because we simply could not stop. Every bite was perfection. Dessert was its own event. We ordered an espresso martini and the pumpkin spice tiramisu, and the staff surprised us with an extra dessert--complete with a beautiful "date night" presentation. Such a special touch! The atmosphere was romantic and gorgeous, and both the manager and the owner stopped by to personally welcome us and make sure everything was perfect. Carrabba's food, although good enough, is still just formula retail brand-based chain menu boring. Pricing is high when you consider the value component. It offers only a small savings on total check compared to higher-end restaurants with long-standing presence in the community. The service is certainly up to par with most retail chain restaurants. Your server will be an underpaid tip-dependent student, single parent, or part-timer working a second job, but will have an obvious desire to please you even though neither the company nor the store managers appear to appreciate them. In short, Carrabba's is just another brand operating under an umbrella hospitality group of restaurants. No surprise that it is operated on a corporate-managed formula established in a high-level management meeting room for the benefit of the shareholders rather than for the benefit of the customer experience. Compare the experience with that of going to Outback (a member of Carrabba's group) for a steak when the local steak house is the real place to spend money for a steak dinner. We got some red sauce to go with it, but we both personally preferred the bread without it. Next we got a cup of lobster bisque. The flavor was good , and there was a surprising heat to it, which honestly made me want to keep eating it. For appetizers, we ordered the seared ahi tuna, the eggplant stacks, the toasted ravioli and the beef manicotti. However, they were out of the manicotti so Joel suggested the seafood stuffed mushrooms, and I'm glad he did! I'm not a big mushroom fan, but I gladly ate these and would order them again. My complaint is that there are only three ... and I was sharing them. For dessert, we got the crème brûlée and the Italian brownie cake.
