    Vegetarian Baked Ziti
    Heather R.

Perfect candle-lit cozy date spot. From the moment I walked in to when I left, the staff was incredibly friendly. Service was very quick. They had a vegetarian menu - which had a variety of pasta options. In addition to the vegetarian menu, other items like salads on their regular menu are vegetarian as well. Their pasta is all homemade and it tasted amazing. I got the burrata salad, of which I requested beets be added to - delicious. Then the vegetarian baked ziti - of good size and definitely shareable, I ended up bringing a box home, also delicious. Their wine and cocktails list was pretty extensive as well. Ample free onsite parking. Whether you're looking for the perfect date night spot, girls nice dinner spot, or elevated family dinner - this is the place. 12/10!!!

Amazing! A quiet fancy atmosphere. Our waitress was amazing! The food was amazing. The drinks were very strong. But it was wonderful! What we got: Free bread - make sure to get some of the Parmesan that's in the oil Berry bourbon smash House made ricotta - SO good. The ricotta was amazing Caesar salad - good! Beets and goat cheese - I feel like this didn't have a lot of cheese. I had a lot of beets and peaches Baked ziti - so filling and good Pasta rustico - the sauce was amazing. The mushrooms were great! Highly recommend

Well apparently 11 years ago me went to Ninos for restaurant week with my sister too! I believe Nino's has had some ownership changes since then but I can attest these owners and staff are so eager to please! The owner came up to our table when we first sat down for lunch and talked us through the restaurant week menu - I'm so glad because we took her suggestions and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Our selections: 1. Carabaccia - an Italian French onion soup. Amazing. My favorite is the very thought out way that the toast was on top rather than soggy in the soup. Genius. 2. Croque Milano - good but I think the pesto overpowered the sandwich. Reallllly enjoyable the next day. Dipping sauce for the gnocchi was 10/10 but wanted a little more pop of flavor from the gnocchi itself. 3. Fruit tart and zucchini bread - fruit tart was perfect because I love a fruit tart and when it's well executed it's amazing. This zucchini bread though was elite. Definitely toasted in a little butter before serving. So. Good. I'll definitely be back and I love that they are open for lunch now!

Everything was amazing! It's a small place so pretty intimate and the literal only drawback of the night was that it can get a little noisy when every table is filled. Everything else was phenomenal. Drew, our waiter was soo nice and very informative. The service was top notch. So many people coming to the table for waters, clear plates etc. they apologized for a delay we didn't even realize had happened. Now the food was amazing! Homemade everything. We got the burrata caprese, Ninos Caesar salad, Cap ribeye special with pesto rigatoni and the pescatore pasta. Can't say enough about how good everything was! The Dressing on the salad was out of this world. You can really tell it's all made from scratch. The fish, shrimp, mussels and scallops were cooked perfectly. The steak was delicious and the homemade pasta was incredible. We got the chocolate decadence cake for dessert and it has a little hint of chile that really warms your throat at the end and was surprisingly nice. So glad we tried it finally! Best Italian in Baton Rouge by far.

Our first trip to Nino's certainly will not be our last! You can't go wrong with seasonal, farm to table ingredients and top notch service. We felt welcomed from the second we arrived and were impressed by the attention to detail and quality of the food throughout our entire meal. The food and service were impeccable and we can't wait to visit again!

Our server Drew was phenomenal and very knowledgable! The food was fantastic and the cocktails were quick to come out, definitely coming back!

After hearing nothing but amazing things about Nino's I finally had the chance to go for a recent birthday dinner. As others have noted, they strongly recommend making a reservation. I was able to make a reservation for 2 a week ahead of time, although I'll note there were several tables that sat empty while we dined. It also looks like they offer takeout if you're not able to secure a reservation and still want a delicious meal! Everything from start to finish with our dinner was absolutely fantastic - drinks, house-made table bread, appetizer, entrees, and dessert. I appreciate that everything was house-made, including the tiramisu which is to-die-for (I would go back just for that). Our waiter (Daven) was fabulous, described the specials in great detail, and made tasty recommendations. I'm looking forward to having another reason to go back (although why do I need a reason to eat delicious food?!). The restaurant itself is small and cozy with just the right level of ambiance music playing in the background.

That bread seriously has crack in it it's so delicious. Sausage stuffed mushrooms... Magnificent Caesar salad was really good I had chicken picatta. That i will be eating on until next week Seriously though, look how pretty that plating is! It was Heavenly!! Perfect sauce, noodles were cooked to perfection, chicken tender and juicy. He had the shrimp Alfredo. I tried the sauce, was pretty good. He really enjoyed it. Dessert was limoncello cake. Y'all.... Crazy light, sweet and just perfect. We've def found a new spot. Not a top 5 bread however, may have been the best part of the meal. Side Caesar - The dressing tasted as if it were out of a bottle and not made in house. It very well could have been however, didn't appear to be. The Parmesan wasn't great quality and also appeared to be out of a bottle or bag. Spaghetti alla Carbonara - Was pretty good. Definitely worth ordering however, not great or anything memorable. Pork Chop - It was accompanied by a sauce and roasted potatoes. The potatoes were average, nothing set them apart from regular roasted potatoes. The sauce was pretty tasty and provided something unique. The pork chop wasn't bad however, not a top 5 or even maybe top 8 pork chop I have ever. Pork Chops are something I order regularly and love to try. Is this place worth trying at least once? Maybe. Would I place it in the top 8 of Italian restaurants in the Baton Rouge/Denham Springs area? No.

We came to Rufino's for dinner on Saturday night, and luckily there was no wait. We weren't aware…read moreof the dress code, so my partner was politely asked to take his hat off while dining at the table. The ambiance was nice and quiet, with dim lighting for a more intimate vibe. For appetizers, we ordered the crabmeat cheesecake and calamari. Both were good, but the crabmeat cheesecake was AMAZING! I think the sauce for the calamari could use some improvements as it tasted a little too light for pairing. They offered complimentary bread service, and the olive oil/ balsamic mixture had tons of freshly grated cheese which tasted amazing compared to other places. For drinks, we both got bloody mary's, but mine was so stiff that it tasted like a double compared to my partner's.. They also didn't do the spiced rim and were out of pickled green beans. The drink experience was quite disappointing overall, so my partner finished it for me, and he agreed mine tasted like straight up alcohol. We decided on the 16 oz. ribeye and Rufino's bolognese for our mains, and upon arrival, I was EXTREMELY disappointed to see that they served the bolognese with rigatoni instead of tagliatelle. The pasta was also served warm, not hot like the roasted potatoes which was weird. Looking back at the menu, I regretfully did not read the entire description because it's bolognese and I expected the traditional pasta to be used in it. The pasta sauce was still delicious as well as the steak, but the roasted potatoes tasted so strongly of peanuts so I wasn't a fan at all. We noticed that they offered complimentary cotton candy for dessert, but we decided to splurge on the crème brûlée and it was so yummy! Overall, I would come back, but I would not get the calamari or the bolognese again. The service was friendly while still keeping things professional, but it definitely slowed down a lot once we received our entrees.
