My daughter just celebrated her birthday here and I couldn't have found a better venue! It has everything a busy parent could ask for. Kids get to choose between painting ceramics/canvas or gaming or they can do both. There are also several party add-ons to make it even more fun like a cotton candy machine, which my daughter loved! What ultimately convinced me to book a party at Pixels was that you can bring in your own food! Many venues require you to use their preferred caterers or don't allow food at all. Pixels not only allows outside food but there's no extra charge! The cherry on top is of course Mai and Joseph, the couple who run Pixels. Great venue with a great concept! We celebrated my son's 9 birthday with a glow in the dark paint party and added on the additional video game package. Mai and Joe were super professional and kind. As a teacher, Mai knew how to get encourage the kids while providing great instruction as she led them through the project. We had older kids and some younger ones and they were really sweet about doing a separate ceramic paint project for the littles. Joe was at the littles beck and call adding paint, helping them clean their brushes and letting them paint on the butcher paper when they were done. It was nice to have the kids all calmly painting and chatting and then seeing them get excited for the video games. The venue was a great size, thoughtfully designed with plenty of spaces to hang out for kids and adults alike. All the little touches including the personalized digital birthday sign on the tvs and the collaborative paint project were appreciated. I'd highly recommend booking Pixels for your next kid bday party! The only downside (no fault of theirs) was the crazy Starbucks drive thru line that stretched well into the parking lot and blocked a lot of parking spaces in the plaza. read more

I highly recommend PIXELS for birthdays! Mai was very professional and nice and helped make a custom Godzilla canvas. Our little guest were so proud of their work! The space was perfect for my large party. I had 14 painters plus 3 little ones painting ceramics and 20 adults. It's also very clean and the decor is so beautiful that doesn't require for parents to bring much decorations. I added glitter tattoos, candy kabobs, and an extra hour. All of it was a hit and made the day all about the kids. I am so glad to have found pixels. We booked a birthday party for my four year old daughter at the last minute. We had planned for an outdoor party but had to switch to an indoor party because of the rain. Mai and Joe went above and beyond to make my daughter's birthday party special. The room was beautifully decorated when I arrived, I only added a couple props to go with our birthday theme. They created a collective art piece with the help of the guest for my daughter as a birthday present. Mai, who is a fifth grade teacher, was our paint instructor. Our party consisted of kids under five. Mai was very patient and great with them, everyone got to take home a beautiful painting. I was surprised as to how engaged the kids were given that they were so young. We added glitter tattoos and the cotton candy machine, which was amazing. Kids loved seeing Joe spinning the cotton candy. In addition, Joe had prepared extra cotton candy bags for kids to take home. Mai's glitter tattoo station was a hit; some kids went for two tattoos. There aren't too many places in San Jose where you can celebrate children's birthdays. The process was super easy and communication from the owners was excellent. The venue was spacious and fit a decent amount of people with plenty of room. The children had so much fun and adults had a really great time as well. Everyone loved the space. We just had a recent experience with Pixels studio and it was wonderful. Their communication was excellent. We talked on the phone a couple of times and communicated through email. They provided us with detail information on how the day would look like. We also loved their service. Mai and her husband came a few minutes early and helped us with the set up. Both of them are also teachers so the painting lesson was well organized. They had enough helpers who walked around to help each child during the lesson too. The studio itself was clean and adorable. Other painting/ceramic studios are too cramped and there is not enough space for food set up. At Pixels they have a table area for food. They have party banners too so parents don't have to worry about decor. They also played kid-appropriate music which made it feel like a real party. We felt they gave everyone individual attention! - you can pick to paint different shaped pottery, stencilled canvas (there's a picture on the canvas already with lines drawn in) or even freehand painting. - loved the idea of painted pottery as they can blow dry and then take home right away. Mai led the art party to paint Elsa portrait for the girls and Sonic canvas painting for the boys. We had our daughters 8th Birthday here and we picked Sanrio - Cinnamaroll theme for painting! Pixels took care of the goody bags as well which were super adorbs! It had cute and different candy/toys -- not usual dollar tree type. The place is neat and clean & super cute esthetic wise. The coordinator was very interactive, she was helping the kids throughout the event. The coordinator also helped one of the kids who had ruined their painting, she helped her fix it. The coordinator also got all the kids together at the end to get their pictures taken with the painting (finish product) which anyone would totally forget at the end. I thought that was really nice. There was a surprise gift for the birthday girl that everyone had contributed and stamp painted together! There was also a surprise glow in the dark dance party which kids and adults both enjoyed! One feedback, there should be a water dispenser. Other than that everything was 10/10! We enjoyed from start to finish! I am already thinking to host my other daughters birthday there! Long overdue review I had not one but two parties here and my children and guests of all ages loved it and had amazing time. Mai was amazing and helped me set up and she lead one of parties that had painting, she was so patient and helpful with the little ones. And Joe was on top of it with gaming, every child was included and no fighting which is near impossible when it comes to gaming but Joe did it. They are both amazing ,helpful and welcoming.
