If I could give this establishment a negative review, I would. I've been to a few places in DTR and it was a good time but this place has expired it's time of being in business. I'm not sure how they're still open because their security guard at the door are beyond under qualified and borderline abusive because they do not know personal boundaries and will physically put their hands on you if they're feeling insecure I guess. Besides that, their food quality is beyond subpar and their customer service needs some serious updating. One of the members of my Group ordered a vegan option (it was confirmed from the server) and it was not that. It had dairy in it and instead of addressing the issue and finding a solution. Management decided to kick us out because we were "unruly" despite us trying to still dine there and polite even though they didn't even they deserve that. Granted we weren't too thrilled to be uncalled kicked out for calling out their mistake so we continued to sit there despite their wishes. And that's when they decided they would physically escort us out and when I tell you I have never in my life been treated to roughly like that, AWFUL!!!!! To make matters their bathroom wasn't even clean when I used it and their patrons are not to keen on wearing a mask nor is management eager to adhere to the COVID-19 guidelines. I was recommended to come here by a brother of mine. He always has a great time getting drunk here. So I decided to take all my siblings out for my birthday, and we went here. The bathrooms were HORRID!!! not only that but I had my sis come in with me to just save space (because there wasn't much) like tf wh'ere they checking on? We weren't doing the nasty (she's my sister!) and if we were doing drugs just know I saw a guy take a full pill out in the open in the club!!? The workers here are absolutely rude. I do not recommend this place at all. My friend and I ordered a drink and when he was handing us our card back they turned on the lights and told everyone to get out. We were trying to finish our drink THAT THEY JUST GAVE US and literally all of them kept attacking us saying we need to get out. We then asked if we could drink it outside since they want us to get out so bad but they wouldn't let us do that either. I was so confused. I was finishing my cig when I heard the owner yelling at a woman, the woman threw her drink on the owner and understandably the owner was upset. The owner turns to me and says "I told you already, the patios closed!", she was literally in my face. Calmly, I told her she was talking to a different black girl (confused me for another person), "I'll put my cig out right now, it's no problem", thinking that would end it, she then followed me to the bathroom and the bar wasn't even closed yet (can I go in peace) I spent like 25-30 dollars here. I have been here only a few times in "all the years" it has been here- maybe 4? IDK but it's funny it's called Pixels for no reason now, as far as I can tell. I believe when they opened it had some gaming but there's nothing inside to suggest that now. Ok, last Sunday night we came here to see a "friends" band- We saw the promotion for it on Facebook and it said both 8 PM and 9 PM for starting and 11 PM for over- (This is really the bands fault I believe?) We arrived between 8-9 and the band we came to see didn't start playing till midnight, which is when I usually go to bed! lol I am old!! We basically took turns each hour buying drinks- UGH the only good beer option IMO wasn't actually good- Guinness, in a can. barf and $6 each. So my second round I decided to get a Bloody Mary, hoping to get it for the $4 well drink price- unfriendly bartender says no- it will be $6. I rationalize, still gotta be better than that beer so OK. She didn't bother asking if I wanted it spicy and as it turns out, salt on a plastic cup rim doesn't work but the part that cracked me up the most was an entire layer of olives and at least half a lime in my drink. I counted and there were more than 20 olives. Since I was drinking I was amused. I was smart to ask for a cup of ice because this drink seriously needed to be watered down. Last round I ask my husband what I should get, he says "You like white Russians" and while I do, it felt like an old person drink. So I am watching what other people get a see a few pink drinks- I end up saying "I will have one of those" The girl walking away that ordered last, turns and tries to tell me the name of it but I am deaf. I got "_____ special" and it was dreadful. lol So strong I could not stand the taste of it. Hubby went back up to the bar and asked her to add grenadine- which helped some. Now by this point it is midnight and I am feeling no pain, which is great in some ways- One of the funnest nights my husband and I have had together in a while. lol BUT I was supposed to be driving! Luckily he only had three beers in three hours- so he was good to go when the band ended. Overall, the place was alright. Crowd was nice. Bands were great. The bathrooms are needing some attention because it kinda brings down the atmosphere of the place overall and only two stalls ladies. No one that worked here seemed to give a sh!t about being nice to customers~ which is sad, but I can tell by the other reviews that management doesn't care either. overall, I like that really upscale and much larger new-is place just across the street on the corner. read more

I ordered a vegan burger to go and that's not what I got at all. when I called them to let them know that they got my order wrong, the guy who answered the phone tried to tell me that the hamburger was indeed vegetarian when I can see bacon in it. It's in downtown Riverside, so it gives the appearance of a decent spot but don't be fooled, if this bar was dropped in any other city it would be a dive bar. I like going to Pixels every once in a while. The grilled cheese is one of my favorites in town! The drinks are reasonably priced. And if you go in the afternoon, the atmosphere is pretty chill. However, there are a couple of bartenders that work here who are too cool to serve non-friends in a timely manner, no matter what time you come in. That really bugs me. I was standing there waiting my turn for, like, 5 minutes. Patiently. Why not go ahead and serve me, and then go chit-chat with your friend that just walked in? I went in a Wednesday night and I couldn't tell if I was at an arcade themed 8th grade dance, or if I was at a bar. The restroom was unkept and out of toilet paper. The tables weren't wiped down. Wouldn't recommend to just eat here I didn't even know they had food. My review is based on my experience with a specific bartender here. I always wanted to try this place so I invited my friends to celebrate my girlfriend getting a new job. Man the drinks were great, the atmosphere was great, the people were nice. But I made the mistake of not closing my tab and left it with the bartender. We were pretty tired and tipsy so I got my receipt signed and left only to check it later and see multiple bogus items completely unrelated to the drinks I ordered and being charged 30 dollars more. This is the worst bar I'v ever been to. If I could give no stars I would. I came here to enjoy a few drinks with my husband and when they were checking my bag they found needles and a humalog insulin bottle. They then told me I couldn't come in and I insisted to tell them that it was my medication (for my type 1 diabetes - I had proof as well) and that I needed it in order to have drinks and eat food. OK, I'll admit I'm tooting my own horn, BUT if you want Quality Karaoke, come to PIXELS in Riverside on Tuesday nights. I didn't add a computer to consumer grade karaoke gear and call it state of the art, what I use is truly PRO Gear (and upgrading on a regular basis). Am I the best KJ in the world? No (I've met people who've forgotten more about sound than I'll ever know), but I'm always learning. But, unlike many KJ's who figure one mix fits all, I believe EVERY singer is unique and mix them accordingly. One of the reasons I started KJing (besides trying to stem the flow of red ink, haha), was how I disliked how most of the KJ's I saw felt that the show was about them. I feel that the show is not about me but whoever is on stage, which unfortunately is something a large percentage of KJ's don't seem to understand.
