Went there Friday for fish. Get there early! It fills up for sure. I had the baked and hubby had the fried fish. Very good. Liked the butter taters on the side. Cole slaw was yummy. This little wooden lodge is nestled in the trees right on the water. The interior looks like a traditional log cabin, with multiple taxidermy on the walls. It gives the true "up north" vibe, which I was hoping for on my first visit. DEVAN was our server and was super impressive. From his top notch attention to witty banter, he made this experience unmatched. I love a traditional Fish Fry and that's sure what we got. 2 stars for a restaurant, 4+ for a bar. We went at 6 on Friday evening for dinner. Inside is mostly empty and there's a 45 minute wait because they have one server. Yikes! I made the decision to stay just because of travel time to get anywhere else. There's enough to do to just hang out--game room, rocking chairs by the fireplace, jukebox, popcorn maker. Service was good once we were seated. The menu is super limited. Basically various types of fried or baked fish with some ribs and chicken Al fredo thrown in. Food came out fast but was was a little hit or miss. Onion rings were really good. Fried walleye and shrimp were okay. Various other sides were fine. There's a great area out back right on the lake where a lot of people were having drinks. Seems like that's the main attraction. There's a dock where you can drive your boat up. read more

We were very pleased with our meal Sunday night. Both my husband & I had the shrimp tacos & French fries. We thought they were very good. The shrimp were a nice size & the light coating was very flavorful. The couple we were with had the angus beef burgers & said they were good also. We look forward to returning soon. read more

Came here for drinks only, so will update review if ever I eat here. I absolutely loved the interior of the bar, there was a green light under the lip of the bar that added a cool glow that was different from anything I've seen before. The whole inside was made of wood, from the bar, to the walls and floor, as well as the bar chairs. It gave it a Twin Peaks-esque feel that I absolutely loved. The bar chairs were extremely hard and uncomfortable though and could definitely use some padding. I did appreciate the purse hooks, that's always much appreciated. The bartenders were extremely pleasant. I'm not sure if they were new, but they seemed a little confused by some of the drinks we ordered. Ex: giving us Pinot Noir instead of Pinot Grigio. There was also not nearly enough Brandy in the "famous" Old Fashioned. I was VERY intrigued by the Bloody Mary but I wasn't in the mood for one. Someone on the other end of the bar had one and it looked really really good! The bar was noticeably HOT and super uncomfortable, my whole group agreed. It's June and it was much cooler outside than in the bar. I couldn't wait to finish my wine so I could get some fresh air (the patio looked very nice but was covered with clouds of smoke from the patrons smoking outside). All in, I would go here again. We went for dinner on a Thursday night, beautiful dining room, great view...BUT the food and service was horrible. Seriously, I would have given a 3 or maybe a 4 star review if the service had been better! I've been here in the past, about 3 years ago and fish fry was good, not great but good. I would give a 0 stars if I could. We came in and sat in the dining area. I ordered a cup of chili right as we sat down. After about 20 minutes we ordered food. Another person at the table ordered chili as their meal and at that time the server said "we don't have chili". I then said "so I don't get my chili?" - the answer was no but the server didn't bother to tell me. We ordered at 2 PM and we are STILL waiting for 2 plates. One plate came out wrong but we took it after waiting 2 hours. The chicken breast was burnt. The fries were burnt. After an hour the waitress told us there was only 1 cook. She then said it would be 20 more minutes. At least be up front if you can't go. So ridiculous. read more

I decided to try a take out order of Coconut Shrimp with Garlic Mashed potatoes, vegetable, side salad & an orange sauce for the shrimp. The server brought out my salad on a plate (I had specified it was a to go about 3 times). She then took it back & wrapped it up. I got my food & headed home only to find my potatoes were not cooked at all, but rather just taken from the container & plopped in the to go box! There was no orange sauce for the Coconut shrimp & the veggies were ice cold! I was very disappointed considering I was very hungry & had heard good things about the food. I called them immediately & had asked to speak to the Owner or Manager.The lady on the phone said they were not available, but she would take a message. This places only redeeming quality is its location on the lake. Upgraded menu, down graded service. Went a summer Saturday, no wait staff. Went tonight, and outside wedding so they weren't open. Seriously? There was a bar and food outside for the wedding, why would you close the restaurant? Food takes forever and is never anything to write home about about. Our group of 6 snowmobiled here recently for dinner on a Sunday night. We loved the place that evidently has been here since the earlier part of the last century. Beautiful decor with fireplaces and comfy chairs. Very good service also. I had the big 1/2 lb cheeseburger and it was one of the best burgers I ever had in my life. They use bison for the burger meat and it was crazy good and cooked perfectly. The bloody mary comes out in a fish bowl like schooner glass and is loaded with veggies, shrimp and what not. The bananas foster for dessert was also excellent. I would love to go back here and even stay at the resort next time along with dining here. read more

Off the bat, the restaurant was on a really nice lake and had a great view. But when we finally got seated, we sat there for 25 minutes without even getting a drink order. After that we left because we didn't have the time to wait for 2 hours just to get some food. The last time I went there the food was just average and it also took a long time to get. Overall, I don't think I could work up my patience and go eat there again. read more

I cannot recommend this place. I don't claim to understand all the challenges of running a restaurant in the COVID era, but the quality of the food here has fallen off a cliff. Being told "That isn't available" is a standard part of the ordering process. I don't mind that things aren't available, but tell me in advance before giving me the menu. And if something has been removed from the menu permanently, then at least cross it off with a sharpie or something. We ordered from the "Mexican night" menu, and the only positive was that the quality of the food was so horrible that we eventually broke out in laughter at the absurdity of it all. In hindsight I wish I had taken pictures, because I just don't have the words to properly explain. Basically the majority of the ingredients looked like they came straight from leftovers or Walmart shelves. For example, the tacos had a weird crusty sausage-like meat that looked like it belonged on pizza, and I think the lettuce was from from a spring green salad mix? Just weird. The rice seemed "reheated" or microwaved. The brownie sundae 100% looked and tasted like a boxed brownie mix from a grocery store. The key lime pie looked like some kind of whipped no-bake jello concoction, and didn't even come with whipped cream? I could continue, but you get the point. Just unacceptable all around. If you choose to eat here, don't say I didn't warn you. read more

We have been here many times before and have enjoyed the food and service. Tonight, we had to ask our server what sides were available and she had to go ask. Drink and table service were slow and there were only two tables occupied at first. Normally the food is delicious and worth the higher prices. Tonight the meatloaf had no flavor, the mashed potatoes were cold, and when we informed our server, she didn't even offer to get warm potatoes. One person didn't receive one of their sides and when she offered a different one, we were charged extra for it. I realize this is the off season, but we didn't pay off season prices for the mediocre food and service. I don't know if we will try them again. Too bad cuz the Bloody Mary's are good. read more

Friday night fish fry is a must here at Pitlik's!! I had the coconut shrimp and it was the best I have had! My husband had the bluegill and he said the same. Waitress was nice and the decor was just what you would expect from a restaurant in Eagle River. If you love Bloody Mary's make sure to order one here. You won't be disappointed. This was a decent meal at a decent price in a nice locale. We had excellent service from our very pleasant and helpful waiter, Jan. We had hoped to eat outside and enjoy the view of the lake, but they are really not set up for it, and the smokers are using the same area so it is would not be a pleasant eating experience for nonsmokers. Had a really excellent bloody Mary with lots of extras added into it. They also had a nice selection of beers for the person who isn't just interested in regular tap beers. The ribs were very good, but they were pretty light on the vegetables that went with that meal. I had the Bomber sandwich, and thought that it was quite good. The organic green side salad that went with it with just a bit of Parmesan and balsamic dressing was very good. I would eat here again. This was very close to being a 4-star. I think if we had been able to sit outside that would have been the thing that would have kicked me over. Or if there had been a larger portion of vegetables with the main entrees. read more

The bar and restaurant are great. Fish fry is a must, and many of the other offerings are good as well. The location is beautiful, and the entire area is one of my favorite places anywhere. I have not stayed in the cabins, but have toured them a few times and they are clean and comfortable. read more

I was with Women on snow, the first time we went to Pitlik's. Awesome Bloody Mary's made by hand not from a mix last night we went back for dinner, I do not know how someone could make meatloaf dinner looks so great and taste so good but they did. it was awesome I would give this restaurant five stars any day of the week and go back there for more of the same. 45 minutes and still no drink. Bartender ignored us. Got a horrible tiny table and still waiting. Busy but not that busy. Unreasonable. There were younger bartenders there, working hard but the older bartender (with a beard) refused to even look at us even when we tried making eye contact. I just cannot ever come back here, no fried fish is worth that terrible service. Had to hunt down a hostess to get our name in a list, luckily a regular told us where to stand- we advised others afterwards. Didn't make sense as it wasn't by any area that looked like a hostess stand. Just really really bad service. Not worth spending our hard earned money. read more

What happened to this place? So disappointed. We haven't been here for a few years. Went on a Saturday early afternoon, we were the only table of 5 in the dining room, heard wait staff talking in the back about how there after work party the night before went. Asked the bartender to take our order and he went to get a waitress who wasn't interested in taking the table but did anyways. Three of us ordered burgers with cheese, 2 of us had fries. The other 2 were our kids, one had chicken fingers and the other a burger. Waited 45 minutes for our food and had to ask the bartender to bring us more drinks. Burgers were dry and chicken fingers were cold. The bill came we had 3 sodas and two beers and the bill came to $89.00! 12.95 for burger with no fries and just cheese. The food is O.K., nothing special - the service is terrible. I would only go back here to have a drink and enjoy the view. This is the 3rd time I've been here and all of my experiences have required me to wait just under 2 hours to be seated, and another hour to get our food. Poor service when arrived this summer. You never know when the restaurant will be open or closed. When you walk in, everyone in the bar stares at you like you have a monkey on your head and you're encroaching on their property. While there, my family was getting eaten up by flies. Arrived at the resort Aug 31, 2012 for the holiday weekend 3 night stay. In addition to reserving the 'Outlet' cabin weeks in advance, we also reserved the owners pontoon (the reason we decided to go with this place). I was told when on the phone making reservations with owner Marsha, that I could not put a deposit on the pontoon as that had to be cash (hmmm, wonder if the IRS knows about that). We arrived early Friday evening and checked in. We told him at that point we wanted to pay the cash for the pontoon rental. He told us to come back and pay in the morning (assuming because the bar was packed and he was new he did not want to deal with it) and assured us there would be no problem with it disappearing. We purchased ice and went on our way to our cabin. The next morning we went back up to the bar to pay for the pontoon. The manager came over, looked confused and said the people picked it up already. I explained I reserved it with my room and she said their was nothing she could do and was very rude. We had family arriving in 2 hours to go out on the lake with us and NO pontoon!!! She left a voice mail on both the owners cell phones and shoved a brochure for a local boat rental place in our face. We did not hear back from the manager or owners during our entire stay. No, sorry, enjoy your stay, is there something we can do. On another note, the room had spider webs in all of the door frames, along the bottoms of the walls, even had a spider hanging out in the bathrroom in the web. I have never left a bad review on line before, but this just couldn't be ignored. We felt like we were "promised" the owners pontoon just to fill a cabin (there were many empty). They didn't care at all once the credit card cleared. The CUSTOMER SERVICE at this place is horrible and we would NEVER return or recommend!!! read more

We never got the menu so we told her that we are not ready. Before we were able to tell her that we need to see the menu first and we want to get a drink she was gone. Exactly what you'd expect from a northwoods bar and restaurant. You will feel entirely immersed in the northwoods and the view of the lake is beautiful. The service is friendly. The bar is the best in the northwoods with hand-muddled old fashioneds, & amazing bloody marys. They have a great fish fry--bluegill (the best), walleye, or cod. The parsley-buttered potatoes make the meal. It is my favorite establishment in the northwoods area! read more
