A lot of the reviews here are for the restaurant but we didn't partake, so this is for the resort proper. Good: *Very clean room *Good shower *Right on the lake Neutral: *If you're here in summer there's lots to do - pool, tennis, water stuff, playground. Off season, not so much. *No toiletries, irons or hairdryers - they do tell you that upfront. Bad: *Our room had tiny windows that looked out onto a chain link fence. Depressing, honestly. We had a wonderful weekend staying at Eagle Waters. We came in for the old fashioned up north event. The room was very clean. My only suggestion is the drapes on the sliding door are very light filtering. On our second and third night, one of the cabins had their exterior light on and it shined in our room the entire night making it difficult to fall asleep. Otherwise, everything else was great! We went into the supper club for drinks our first night and the bartender Julie was outstanding ! When we came in for the old fashioned event Saturday, when Julie saw my husband and I, she greeted us by name! It's the little things like that that makes the experience even better! Came for the Friday night fish fry earlier in the summer because the other local places were too packed and we had an elderly member of our group who wasn't able to stand around and wait. Had been to the restaurant years prior and had a good enough meal, so had good expectations, but definitively will not be going to Eagle Waters again. Service was slow -- blaming this 100% on management allowing too many tables for not enough servers. Our waitress was lovely but overwhelmed and doing her best. Crab cakes came cold. The fish fry was honestly bad. We didn't order all you can eat because the AYCE was served at a buffet that looked like it had been sitting for hours, so just was not very appetizing. One of our entrees came with one piece of fish missing and instead of the waitress going back to the kitchen for a fresh piece, she grabbed a piece from the buffet and put it on a plate to bring over. Just was surprising. I get they were understaffed but overall, just bad experience and will not return in favor of other options. read more

We made a 6:30 reservation for dinner because we were with 3 young kids who I knew wouldn't be able to wait long for dinner. We purposely went somewhere that took reservations so we could eat at a set time for the kids. We got there on time but they didn't seat us until 7:15 because "they only had two chefs." We love stopping by Eagle Waters after a day of snowmobiling. We sat in the bar area. They have high tables, comfy chairs and the bar. We sat in some comfy chairs arranged by the fireplace. The atmosphere is nice and cozy and the noise level is not too high. The dining room is attached on the other side of the two-sided fireplace. We only had wine - very large pours. We had the house cab, which was pretty good for a house wine. They make a pretty good old-fashioned, as well. We didn't have dinner this time, just cocktails. I'm happy to inform you that this dining room hasn't changed much over the years and the food has been consistent still being good. The menu is similar offering many items featured previously. They have done some advantageous arranging of the furniture. It still looks good though and has held up well over the years. The comfortable seating in front of the fireplace is appreciated. It's a nice place to have a drink or wait for a table. A nice outdoor patio featuring fire is available. The chopped steak is a good deal if you're looking for something value oriented and includes a salad. Sadly and understandably the salad bar has been missed since COVID. Hopefully, it will make a return at some point. The banquette venue is still available and looks nice. The space could be dressed up or down depending on the needs of your function. read more

My husband and I had our wedding reception at Eagle Waters, as well as a "part b" mini ceremony (due to Covid). I can not say enough good things about Laura, Jackie, and all of the staff there! Despite Covid they still helped make everything we wanted happen and more! It was absolutely perfect! All of our guests kept raving about how good all of the food was. I had multiple people tell me it was the best appetizers they've ever had and the same reaction continued with dinner! Everyone was so easy to work with and made it stress free for me as a bride! They made the venue look so beautiful and took care of all of the set up and take down. In planning they really helped me make all of my "Pinterest ideas" come to life. Added bonus was the incredible accommodations! Everyone was so happy to be able to just walk to their rooms from the reception and they all talked about how great their rooms were. I couldn't suggest Eagle Waters more for a wedding! We've been there multiple times for just dinner as well and it is always fantastic! read more

Resort is nice, restaurant is slow and lacks customer service. This location was ok for a wedding and staying but at all cost avoid the restaurant. Also note they refuse to give you extra towels. Not only was some of the staff rude, stating they didn't have time to get us silverware but as an establishment they were understaffed. At the bar, one of two, it took 15 minutes to get a drink and the bartender didn't know his own menu. My food was barely warm and seemed like a frozen product with out any spin. read more

Three ppl in my party ordered all you can eat fish fry, two ordered Italian dishes, I ordered salad bar only. Worst service ever, over priced and food just "ok". Waitress did not check on our table in a timely manner for fish reorders. Fettuccini Alfredo was not fettuccini, it was angel hair pasta and underneath was water....gross. Salad bar at Pizza Hut is cheaper and better.would expect high end salad bar at Eagle Waters, especially at the price of $9.99. This was my first time going to Eagle Waters Resort-- all of my family (locals) were talking about how nice the remodel is-- and that the restaurant was worth a trip out to. The specialty of this place is fish-- but really EVERYTHING is good. I got the fish fry (on Tuedsays & Fridays) and they offer a option for Broiled & Fried-- which I just had to have both! Both were made fantastically, and i was really pleased by the quality of the food. Great sides, and healthy side options too. They also have a small salad bar (a common thing here in the Northwoods) that was ok-- Romaine lettuce was available-- so I was happy! The bar inside was also beautiful-- and had LOTS of options to chose from. They even had Leinenkugel Berry Weiss-- my favorite, and a hard to find one at bars when its only seasonal. But the best part of the bar?? THE PHOTO BOOTH!!!! $3 for two strip sets. Amen! Finally... I REALLY wish I had a chance to get a drink at the bar OUTSIDE (see my photo!) It looked absolutely beautfiul outside on the patio and in the open-air resort bar. There was even a hammock hung up in the open-air bar... Can't wait to go back! read more

This used to be one of our favorite supper clubs to come to several times a year. We WON'T be going back. No more duck, no more pork chops. It's now an Italian restaurant and it's not good. I ordered chicken Parmesan. I could have whipped it up better using jarred sauce. My husband ordered a steak medium rare. It came well done. Sent it back. Came back medium well. Service was ok, but what happened to my regulars that were friendly and remembered you from year to year. Don't go if you want supper club food. Don't go if you want good Italian food. My favorite place on a Friday night. Not for the fish which I'm told is excellent but the prime rib is the best in the Northwoods. It's always a crap shoot on a Friday night if you order anything but fish but not here. The owners are always on the premises and take a hands on approach which I like to see. Their Sunday morning brunch is second to none in the area. The Chef is a native from the area who does a fantastic job. Not the easiest place to find but just take Rangeline Rd. This was our fifth time to Eagle Waters, and from start to finish a disaster. First we waited forever to be served drinks on the patio before our 8 pm reservation. After drinks, we went to the maître d who told us we'd have to wait for a table to open. (even though we had reservations). Ended up waiting (40!!!) minutes. The maître d was useless, never apologized and should have bought us drinks. Finally we're shown to a table and three of us ordered the special - prime rib. We then went to the salad bar to find it half empty. We got back to our table to be told by the waiter they were out of the prime rib. We were furious, after waiting 40 mins to get our table that we had reserved, they ran out of what we wanted! We ordered steaks instead, and a bottle of wine. The waiter brought the wine to only realize that he forgot to open it. He leaves, brings it back with the cork stuck in it and leaves it at the table! Never pours, no taste, nothing! Got our steaks which were only ok for two of us, but the third was well-done when he ordered medium. It took us 90 mins from arriving for our 8 pm reservation. Horrible, horrible service. We brought friends from out East to give them a taste of the northwoods and it was so embarrassing! In the end we were given half off our meal, and we were offered a gift certificate by the owner which was nice. However we had one special night out with friends we'll never get back. read more

Beautiful facility, with a great outdoor area for drinks. Unfortunately, service and food in the restaurant is not up to par. On recent visit we experienced the worst overall service in recent memory - and I eat out over 200 meals per year. We had reservations. Upon arrival it took 10 minutes to check in. Once seated, waitress Sherry and water did not arrive for another ten minutes. We ordered drinks, which did not arrive for 27 minutes despite repeated queries. Other tables had a basket of rolls to keep them occupied, but not ours. Our waitress was totally inattentive...by never looking our way she avoided my eyes and gestures. Our group of 4 ordered two pan fried walleye dinners (one cajun and one regular), and two perch/bluegill combinations. The walleye was passable (although there was no difference between the cajun and regular). The perch/bluegill would have been good if not for far too much salt - almost inedible. The side orders were messed up, when pointed out the waitress said "[when the kitchen gets busy they do what they want]". Our table was not alone. At the adjacent table, a young family just left after the could not get their drinks...I think they had ordered food before giving up. At another table, a women complained about the grouper. At the third adjacent table a man and his son waited longer than us...and kept looking over at me with a "this is so bad." look. Unacceptable service. Poorly prepared food. $100+ for (4) with drinks. I love the atmosphere here...very northwoods, warm and inviting. They have a nice area w comfy chairs and couches where u can sit and enjoy a cocktail while listening to live music on certain nights. In summer they have an outdoor bar w comfy seating where there is also live music The food is ok, not amazing but not bad either...the atmosphere makes up for where the food falls slightly short and I'll keep coming back. I had the beef tenderloin medallions in a mushroom sauce...there really was way too much of the sauce(it was basically gravy). The tenderloin was good but maybe not the best quality cut of meat. So, I have come to both their Thanksgiving and Easter buffets and I love this place! The epitome of a family dining experience "North Woods Style". While I haven't been to the restaurant on too many other occasions, I believe it deserves the 5 stars for the great service and friendly staff, the abundance of family-style delicious and varied "hearty American" food, and the great Up-North decor and location. That champagne during the holiday buffets just keep coming so watch out or you might be needing a walker to get back to the food line. Updating the previous review. Food is still good. Everything else is questionable. Had issues with service again on a recent visit. On the Friday after July 4, they were short on service. It seemed like they were seating people even though they couldn't handle them. They had two waitresses for the entire outdoor patio that was full and had multiple tables with around 10 people. The waitress also said the kitchen was backed up and short staffed. It took about 45 minutes to get drinks and then two hours from sitting down to get food to a large table. Most troubling was that a kid's order came last, 5-10 minutes after everyone else's (and another came with the rest of the food). We waited over an hour for food after ordering and the kid's order came last. I'd put that in italics if I could. At some point, you have to stop making excuses. read more

We had the worst experience at the restaurant on July 5th. First we were told the wait was 20 minutes, but that turned into 1 hour. After being seated, the food took 2 hours. Folks, this is not an exaggeration - we arrived at 5:45pm and left at 9:30pm. The food was again mediocre, especially for the price. How have I not rated this wonderful place yet?! My boyfriend's parents live in Eagle River and a visit to Eagle River is not complete without Friday Night Fish Fry at Eagle Waters. The food, drinks, and service are always wonderful. Their fishy fry is excellent, and I highly recommend the twice back potato. This place is busy on weekend nights, so expect a wait. The wait is not bad because in the summer, you can enjoy a delicious (and CHEAP! best thing about WI) drink on their adorable patio with live music, and in the winter, you can wait at the bar or on one of the leather couches near a warm fire. The interior of this restaurant is incredibly cute and full of Northwoods charm :)The patio and live music in the summer time is great, and I adore their decorations around Christmas time. You will not regret going going to for lunch or dinner anytime of the year! read more

The condos in the lodge are fantastic!! Unfortunately we booked cabin 14a and the website was very misleading. They should show the picture of the outside along with the inside. Old rundown and dilapidated along with a 70's decor. Cabin 5 was nice however they forgot to mention no AC. We happened to be there during a heat wave. Restaurant was closed most of the time during our stay at the resort - the food and service were ok but not great. Our stay in Cabin #9 was not as good as we had hoped or desired. The cabin tho spacious, was not very clean and needed a lot of maintenance and improvement. The toilet leaked all over the floor due to a lack of a seal which also caused it to rock. There were no lamps in the bedrooms and apparent leaks showing thru the ceiling. The screens were held together with duct tape and caution tape. The sofas were unsuitable for sitting. My family has been coming for 20 plus years but this year wasn't so good. Our cabin didn't have a/c, it smelled musty, and was very outdated. The restaurant service was poor. My husband didn't get his drink until dinner was done, food was average, and we didn't even receive silverware. To end our trip, my daughter left 2 stuffed animals behind. This weekend I stayed with family at the resort in a cabin. The cabin was great and well maintained. It had plenty of room and was filled with the North woods charm. Wait staff is mediocre; forgetting to return to tables after an item was requested such as a box, not splitting checks to correct way, not refilling water or being attentive. The fish fry was good and what you would expect. However, the brunch is overpriced with food that is not appealing. The shrimp for example were rotten as if left out for too long in a warm room, coffee is not included in the price, bacon had no flavor and the eggs were over cooked. Came for a Friday night fish fry. We sat on the patio while waiting for our table. Patio layout is exceptional, however, the D.J. Must be hard of hearing as He was playing the music way too loud. Our 2010 summer vacation destination was the beautiful and luxurious Eagle Waters Resort in Eagle River, Wisconsin. One major reason we were attracted to the resort was its restaurant. The service is impeccable, perfectly representing the renowned North Woods hospitality. Just arrived at this amazing resort last night. Even though restaurant was closed, owner still accommodated our family with the best pizza we ever had. The ambience of the whole resort is second to none with gorgeous views of Eagle Lake. The swimming pool & hot tub made for a relaxing day followed by enjoying the sunset down at the dock with an eagle flying nearby. Music entertainment is provided most evenings on the beautiful patio embellished with fire tables & waterfalls. Would recommend this Northwoods retreat to any nature lover looking for an amazing getaway for family or friends. read more
