The room was nice and cozy warm too. It would have been nice to have a channel to know what we were watching but we were gone a lot. Room service was great too! Everyone there was super friendly and helpful. One thing, feedback wise, is maybe to put a door before the hallway where the rooms are. The voices echo in the lobby and we could hear them all the way down the hallway. A little thing, but we noticed it. We would definitely stay here again, it was delightful and a great find!!

The owner emailed us within 10 minutes of reserving online letting us know they would have a room ready. We were again greeted by the owner at check-in, and she could not have been more genuinely friendly. Our room was very clean, and the price was great. If you're in the area, shop local and don't stay in one of the chain hotels. Places like this deserve business.

Notified desk. No alternative room offered. On two consecutive days, two different maintenance staff unable to repair; needed replacement, none available. Was working with a local realtor one morning at this unit's kitchen table when a person without knocking ENTERED ROOM, then, quickly left without a word. Numerous front desk visits and two phone calls by me after checkout over a two week period, found General Manager, Mr. B..., unavailable. On 9/4/2025, I received a return phone call from General Manager. Was told he and an Asst. Manager found lock on door of said unit operable and working. During my four night stay in the one bedroom unit nearing $400 per night for room and attached room fees with an inoperable interior security door lock, I was credited $25 per night ($100 total). I expressed compensation was inadequate. General Manager said he would look at interior lock again. If still inoperable, he would reconsider additional compensation. I requested a call back on his findings. Will add to this post at that time. (Note: This was my third stay at this resort over a fourteen month period.)

When we checked out after the one night, the hotel staff said we had one more night. I told them this was incorrect. I went back to lodging.support to tell them that they got my reservation wrong. They said that they reached out to the hotel and that the hotel denied me the 1 day refund. All I can say is that you make sure you always book directly with the specific hotel. I will never be staying here again.

While rooms were nice and current, the tubs were not replaced and it showed. Also, the heavy curtains did not close, and there were lights in the soffit that lit up the room. I like a dark room for sleep and rigged up a way to block the light using hangers, but kind of a pain. If looking for a night's sleep, would recommend.

The room we were redirected to had no smoke detector. (We were still charged a whopping $192 for the night). The next day the detector in the original room was "fixed" and we returned. However, the alarm again sounded at night and the night manager came in and removed the smoke alarm from the ceiling. Two nights of disrupted sleeping and serious safety violations. Breakfast was not restocked. Would not recommend.

Most hotels are loud at night with doors closing and people talking- not here! It was like we were the only 2 people in the building- and it was a full house. Unfortunately, the hot tub was drained and off limits due to Covid-19, but the pool was open. We would definitely stay here again. My only concern is there were very few people wearing masks, from the employees to the people coming in off of the street to dine in. Each time marked improvements from the last visit…read more The owner who has checked me in each time I visit is quite friendly and informative on things to do and the best restaurants in the area. My room this time had new furniture including the bed. I was also impressed with the pillows that were bigger than pillows in other Northwoods motels and cabins I've been to. While the bathroom as been remodeled the shower itself was a bit old. Almost like old concrete. The bathroom I had last time had a new shower. Seems the owner is working though improvements unit by unit. He was painting one unit on my last visit. I wasn't sure to give four or five stars because of the shower being old but many rooms seem complete and the owner has such passion for every inch of the place that I went with five.
