This place was... well let's just say interesting. I found it on Yelp while looking for Mediterranean food nearby for lunch. I passed it at first, not noticing the sign but was able to turn around and park my car. Upon entering, my friend and I were greeted and after looking for the menu for a minute we placed our order. The gentleman taking our order seemed to be all over the place. He started cooking food in the middle of us placing our order and after trying to pay several times, he finally said to wait to pay until after we were done eating. Ok... so I grabbed my drink and took a seat in the dining room. It was then that food started coming out at all different times. And on top of that, food was ending up at the table that we didn't even order. We did order a hummus and pita appetizer, one gyro, one falafel sandwich, and one fountain drink. However, we ended up getting two gyros plus a side of fries on top of everything else. The hummus was great but the pita it came with was really tough. I loved that he fried my falafel right when I ordered it and it was rather good. My only complaint was that the lettuce wasn't very fresh. It was kind of soggy and changing color. I ended up picking it all off. When we finished and I tried to pay, all of the sudden the bill was way higher than what it should have been. It was obvious that they were charging us for all the extra food that we didn't order. When I asked for an itemized receipt, they were unable to give it to me. They were also unable to explain why all this extra food came out. It really gave me an odd feeling, like I was getting swindled. I ended up just paying the total so I could get out of there. First time visiting ever. The food was good. We had the banana sweet and it reminded us of banana bread pudding, Amazing. We ended up getting the lamb gyros. The cucumber on it with the other veggies gave it a good taste. read more

Thanks to seeing Karen check in here, and her Kofta plate picture looked super yummy, I happened to be just down the road to run an errand, so thought I'd stop for an early lunch. Half an hour into their opening time, walking inside, they were just starting their opening procedures. A father and son (?) run operation it looked to be. Looking at their Yelp pictures, I picked their Gyro Plate meal. The gentleman told me they didn't have the rice or fries made yet, and offered to give me double gyro meat as consolation. $8 for all the meat, a big scoop of hummus, and toppings. Good deal. Their hummus is different, and I actually liked the taste. Not sure what ingredients and spices they use, and I can't exactly describe the flavors, I would just say give it a try for yourself. Apart from their tzatziki sauce, they have a thicker dill yogurt sauce with diced tomatoes throughout, it was also a good addition to my gyro meat. read more

Let me tell you a story of this building. Many many moons ago it was a Popeye's. Then it was this other local fish and chicken place called Buckeye Express. Then it just sat there, sad and empty, for at least a year. I am so glad it's occupied again, and with a convenient and affordable Middle Eastern quick-service restaurant! The inside has been remodeled, and while small, is clean and nice. There are probably about 8 tables/booths inside for dining. I didn't realize there was a drive thru (major bonus) so we ordered take out inside. The gentleman who served us was very friendly, and offered us a sample of falafel while we waited! My husband ordered the kofta platter, which at $7.99 was a TON of delicious food. It came with rice, a blend of fresh tomato and cucumber, a big hunk of roasted eggplant, several pieces of kofta, and at least a half cup of creamy smooth hummus. Not only that, a slice of pita bread! Mine was the falafel platter, and for $5.99 was the same side dishes, but with fries and 6 falafel patties the size of a flattened ping-pong ball. You guys - we ate this for TWO meals it was so much, and it was super tasty and fresh too! You could also have just a pita/gyro with fries, drink, and your choice of filling for between $4 -7. The prep station looked very clean, and had a good variety of bright veggie toppings. I hope that this place does well, and doesn't compete too much with Kabob Grill (across the street) which also offers both Middle Eastern and Greek foods. There is room on the west side for all of the ethnic restaurants! If you're in the area, check this place out for a delicious meal that's easy on your wallet. read more

Paid for chicken shawarma sandwich on homemade bread they make along with extra chicken. They messed the order up (wrong bread, no extra chicken, and added cheese for some reason) and when I went back they remade the sandwich wrong again (wrong bread, no extra chicken and added cheese) and did it on pita and told me they can't make it on housemade bread even though they charged me for that plus extra chicken. I don't know why this place has so many stars. read more

Rolled through the drive-thru, got a chicken shawarma and falafel sandwich, both combos. Drove up to the window and it looks like the guy runs a solo operation. Food and window. No problem, I didn't have a time limit. 10 minutes later he comes back to get my payment and ask for drinks. I couldn't understand him when I asked what drinks they had so after he ran my card, he came back with one can of everything they had. Really nice guy. Got home and opened my food. Chicken shawarma looked like a raccoon had gone through it before I did- pita ripped open, just a mess of food. Falafel pita fared better but all the falafel was at the bottom half so I essentially ate through a salad before getting to the good bits. And they weren't that good either. It looked like it was sauced well, but there wasn't much flavor. And the fries were soggy. Checked the reviews. Sounds like this place was better before the new owners. Plus the full menu isn't offered in the drive-thru. Do yourself a favor and get better Mediterranean food elsewhere on this street. read more

Great new eatery for Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food. Very low prices (platter for $6-8 gives an idea), freshly made food in front of you and delicious roasted well-done meats. It's a stand-alone eatery with plenty of seating and dedicated parking. Recommend the falafel, hummus and beef shawarma - wish they would heat the bread more, but other than that, really good experience on the whole. Haven't seen too many customers in my two visits so far, so I hope that this new business flourishes. read more

Came from florida & Rented an RV from the place across the street and it wasn't ready in time. Starving, we asked the lady where to get food and she recommended a McDonalds that was so far and it's freezing outside (for a Floridian). We decided to ignore her and walk to the Pita In Express, it looked like a hole in the wall but WOWWW the best meal I have had in a while. The guy at the counter was super helpful and even offered us hot soup while we waited. I highly recommend this resturant... the RV place across the street however eh not so much. read more

Holy smoke, this may be the best gyro I've ever had. The toppings to select from is by far some of the best I've ever had. Ordered Hanieth with chicken. It was half of a chicken with skin in a broth, served with a lot of rice, soup, and some carrots cooked in a stew/broth. Service was quick, the food was hot, and my son enjoyed the chicken and rice. This will be at least two meals for him. Food was flavorful, but not too spicy, good for kids. I'm looking forward to trying other wonderful halal menu items. The restaurant was clean. Went a second time, called ahead, got chicken biryani (has potato in it), chicken mandi (chicken with skin on it, flavorful sauce, on rice) mulukhiya (large portion and delicious, not soupy, like spinach) and lamb ghalaba (small portion but delicious) Came with soft round flat bread and salty soup that is like bone broth. read more

Can we talk about Mediterranean food? I always thought I liked it with a few notable exceptions. Like hummus. I hate hummus. Well I thought I hated hummus. But on one of my visits (which have been increasing in frequency- it's becoming a staple) a very earnest endorsement from an employee convinced me to give it another shot. He put it on the plate, drizzled it with excellent quality olive oil and garnished with whole chick peas. I wolfed down every other delicious thing- falafel like no other, crisp and somehow fluffy, beautifully seasoned, served warm with fresh tahini (I mean like made 10 minutes ago fresh tahini). A lamb shwarma sandwich that would feed two easily- super soft pita, delicious meat cut off right in front of you- topped however you prefer from choices like pickles, hummus, tahini, onions, tomato salad- all seasoned and perfectly good as stand alone sides but that blend together into culinary magic that is greater than the sum of its parts. Fries seasoned well, with a blend that gives it a little flair and makes this very American fare work with the Mediterranean treats. So then there I was. Facing down a side of the dreaded hummus and the softest pita ever. I reassured myself that I would bare minimum live through trying it. Probably. I can't overstate how much I loathe hummus. But then I tried THIS Hummus. Silky, flavorful, subtle- mixing with the olive oil and spread on pita, I considered ordering a hotel pan of it to take home. I brought in my best friend and her very picky eater kid to try it. Even the kid was converted by this stuff. I'm telling you- it's all fresh. It's all made with love. It's cheap as hell. You won't leave hungry- it will feed your belly and your soul. Sure it's in what appears to be an abandoned parking lot. But it's cleaner than most hospitals and you cannot find better service. Its not the fastest if you're getting falafel because they make it when you order-and once you have it that way you'll realize that's how it should be done. It's across from Hadocy and the signage is oddly placed but don't give up- or you will miss out on an absolutely magnificent meal. read more

The sandwiches were ok. Not as stuffed as I usually get. I think the guy was new because it looked like he didn't know how to stuff a pita. But what was really disappointing was the Falafel. Tasted like they got it from Restaurant Depot already made. No garlic, no spices and tasteless. Wasn't fluffy and tasted like cardboard. The tahini yogurt sauce needed just a little salt. Very bland and no taste. I miss my garlic. When I was there last time everything was very good. Maybe they were having just a bad night. I will give them another try. read more

This is by far THE best Middle Eastern restaurant on West Broad in Columbus. It is located across from the Haydocy dealership in what I believe used to be a taco bell. Don't let that stop you from checking them out. I've been in there twice in the past week. The first time I had a meat plate (beef). The meat was cut off the rotisserie and fried up on the grill and had crispy and nice pieces of the meat. It came with a hummus that you can tell was made in house with pita, pickles and the most amazing red slaw with flavors I've never had before...just wonderful mixed with the rice, hummus and meat. The second time I had the kofta plate. OMG. Nice with caramelized onions and fire-grilled tomatoes, hummus and rice. Not fancy but sure to impress. read more

Uh, the first time I went there was on Friday, March 15th and I have been back there every day since. Each time I go, I get extra one or two wraps to take back to friends at work and family - who all RAVE about how delicious the chicken shawarma wraps are.
