The Pita House is a weekly dinning experience for my family. Everything we've eaten has been excellent. A couple of our favorite dishes are the chicken shawarma salad, tacos, and wrap. Also, the salmon salad and wrap are delicious as well. The hummus is fresh as is the pita bread. Pita chips are a great substitute for the bread if desired. I personally love their pickled turnips. The customer service is great. Every employee is kind, polite, and welcoming. We usually order to go but on occasion have eaten in the restaurant. It is simple yet cozy. Less than thrilling here. All the tables are empty- no condiments. No napkin holders. I asked for a ketchup and got an empty ketchup bottle . Seriously?? The lule kebab wrap came with a super duper thin layer of meat followed by a healthy topping of lettuce (aka salad). Come on man. Frozen fries?? This should be a wake up call -- get it right. We DoorDash'd this meal. We ordered the Shwarma Chicken Salad, the Combo Trio with beef, chicken, and Kafta Kebab, sweet potato fries, Garlic Feta Fries, Pita Bread, and the Beef Shwarma plate. The Beef Shwarma Plate, the Garlic Feta fries, and Sweet Potato Fries were our favorites. The Chicken salad was good, and the trio wasn't bad just the beef was over cooked and the Beef Shwarma Plate had more flavor than the Combo Trio. I was really disappointed by what I witnessed during my visit. While I was waiting, the cashier and a DoorDash driver (who appeared to be friends) were openly making degrading comments about another DoorDash driver. They looked at the driver with visible disgust, and once that person left, they began mocking and criticizing their appearance and body type. It was uncomfortable and honestly shocking to hear employees speak about someone that way, especially someone who was simply there doing their job. That kind of behavior feels unprofessional and creates a negative environment for both customers and delivery workers. I hope management addresses this, because no one deserves to be talked about or treated like that. Food was great though. read more

Wife and I wanted some hummus, fresh salad and kabobs. We shared the Trio plate and garlic feta fries. The Kafta was our favorite, it had the best flavor. The lady at the counter said it's a mixture of ground beef and chicken. The chicken and beef were ok but could have had more time marinating. The rice is not basmati like we were use to, the fries for $6 you don't get much and they were soggy. All in all a good meal, things I would do for next visit: 1) Get the fries extra crispy and ask they bring them to table as soon as done so they don't get cold or soggy 2) get Kafta as my main protein as it had the most flavor and was moist 3) Park in the back, seems easier than the busy street up front. 2/1/25 Getting lunch! Ordered on DoorDash, a half Fattoush salad with onion. Paid for it on there and went to pick it up. Arrived & it was ready & waiting in pick up. Nice worker greeted. This is by far the best Mediterranean food in Madera! Food is always fresh and the service is great! My teenage boys love their food. my 14 year old had a lamb burger tonight and devoured it. The 16 year old had a chicken shawarma that was gone before most of us had half of our food eaten. The chicken plate ,my wife ordered, was delicious. My lamb was tender and cooked perfect unlike the other restaurant in town. The other place is like fast food! The pita is fresh and so is the hummus. Try their deserts if you have room! The cashier was very kind. But this is not real mediterranean food. I ordered the salmon plate. Salmon had no seasoning whatsoever. They served lime not lemon with the salmon. I have something to say about that, but will not say it here. Boring, blah, meh. The rice pilaf is from some sort of box mix. If you know real rice pilaf, it doesn't have a bright yellow color to it. Rice-A-Roni rice pilaf tastes better than this stuff. The hummus, what is that, No Flavor. So sad I spent $20 on a meal I didn't enjoy. I didn't finish it. I let my friend take it home.I didn't tell my friend I didn't like it but I WON'T BE BACK! So sad! By the way, Pita House is the same as Kebab Grill, been there as well and won't go there as well. my husband and I come here often. The food is great and the service is great as well. My go to plates are the salmon plate, combo kebab plate as well as the chicken shawarma salad. The restaurant runs a social media account and recently conducted a poll that required one to comment choosing special sauce or garlic paste. I voted for the garlic paste. Next time I show up, the young woman remembered my vote and added the garlic paste to my order. If that's not great customer service, I don't know what is. 10/10 recommend read more

I have never been to a Mediterranean place and they do not give you red onions on your salad. I ask for extra onions. I didn't get 1 let alone extra onion . Just FYI whenever you go someplace and have never been always check your food before you leave. Salad dressing was bitter. I don't know how you can mess up a salad they did. This please may be a little hole in the wall but has such great tasting food with great flavors! I came across this place by chance working in Madera this past week, ordered the full greek chicken salad, didn't open it till I got home after working a 10 hours so I was pretty excited to stuff my face...opened it up and salad was full of color. I've ordered many greek salads before and one main thing I loved about this place was that all the ingredients where chopped up into bite size pieces easy for consumption! I came to the Pita House due to the yelp reviews. Upon arrival I was greeted by a nice young lady. I ordered a gyro plate which consisted of gyro meat, rice, hummus, tziki sauce and a pita bread. I also ordered a Diet Coke. Well let's start out the Diet Coke was horrible. Had an off taste. The food came out pretty fast. Time to eat. As you can see from the picture, there was a lot of food. I first tried the rice. How do I say this.....the rice was a total miss. Starchy. Not my kind of rice. I took two bites and stopped eating the rice. The hummus was good as was the sauce, pita bread and meat. If I had one complaint about the meat, don't grill it too much. Dries out the meat. I can now say I have tried the Pita House out.
