There were lots of servers, so we were well taken care of, but I felt rushed through the meal. We had not been in before, so it took some time to decide what we wanted. The menu is a little hard to follow with some things listed on a menu board on the wall (that no one pointed out to us). The waitress came back like every two minutes asking if we were ready, so we just felt a little rushed through that process. The food itself was hit and miss. My son did not enjoy the chicken fried steak sandwich, but my other son loved his Monterey chicken. Some of our chicken strips were good and some were really tough. The fried chicken and grilled chicken sandwich were both pretty good. Overall, it was ok, but not our best meal of the trip.

Maybe the best Burger on Grand Lake. I was surprised. This…read moreburger patty was a full half pound, cooked perfectly medium. What I was not expecting was the charbroil flavor. It was really really good. A burger that didn't need anything. Meat and bread. It did come with LTP&O on the side. M, M or K were available on the table. It comes with a side of your choice. I got okra, my wife got fries. If the restaurant would pizazz up those fries, they would definitely have the best burger combo on the shore line of Grand Lake. Good friendly service. Taking a little too long for the food. Unfortunately, our server got involved with cleaning the floor. Our food sat on the counter a little too long. Only warm when it arrived. - 1 star. Comfortable diner café environment. The burger ....excellent. I would come back here to have a burger. I will never pass up a good char burger.

ABLEIST!! I came to…read morethis restaurant to have fun with friends and family Absolutely terrible experience at Drunken Rooster. I was cut off from ordering cocktails because the staff assumed I was drunk when in reality I have a disability that affects the way I move/present myself. Instead of asking me if I was okay or simply communicating their concerns respectfully, they made an assumption about my condition and treated me like I was intoxicated. Being judged and discriminated against because of a disability is completely unacceptable. If you're going to work in a bar, you should know the difference between someone being intoxicated and someone having a disability. Do better, Drunken Rooster!!!

This is a great sonic, conveniently located on our way to Grand Lake. It's a great place to pick up lunch (or breakfast) on our way in and perfect for a late night dinner on our drive home. I had the infamous chicken fried steak which I found, unfortunately, not as good as reported by others. It was not the expected crispy fried deliciousness but instead was flat and tasted floury like it had not cooked out. We did get dessert to go, sister had the coconut cream pie, which again was delicious. I had the apple cobbler which I found to be soggy and inedible for me. So she hit the jackpot that evening and I was left disappointed. I should have gone with my first instinct which was the fish... I may have really enjoyed it but who knows.

Very good brisket sandwich. Tender and flavorful. Pulled pork was good too. I wasn't greatly impressed with the sides. But, it may have been what we chose--the beans and the mac 'n cheese. The beans were an old style bbq type, not your regular baked beans but they were totally homemade. Just be aware if you wanted baked beans. The mac 'n cheese was advertised as having green chili and bacon. I got some green chili but no bacon. I would go with a different side next time. We will be stopping again. Very convenient on your way to the lake! They anchor the new food truck area. There's usually a cookie vendor, lemonade and burgers, and Fruity Patootie there too.
