I am giving this location three stars for various reasons. First, the drinks have amazing decorations that are done by a machine that they have in the restaurant but it's a hit or miss if they are strong versus foamy. The food is great, but there are certain dishes that are not authentic and have a few additional ingredients that are not part of the traditional dishes in Peru. I'm only basing my review on my own experience with these dishes as a Peruvian. I did also order a Seco once via DoorDash and it came a bit dry so I wasn't too impressed by that dish. Hoping to come back here and have a different plate that might change my experience. Service is overall good and the team bear is friend, friendly and helpful.

This is near spot nested right on church street in uptown. The decor is beautiful and vibrant. Parking is street parking or in the nearby garage . The food is Peruvian and I can say very much authentic. I enjoyed my avocado dish and my lychee martini . The staff were great and explained everything on the menu . I wish I could remember what I had but it's on the appetizer menu. lol I would be back for dinner.

Dined here with work colleagues. It was midweek and the restaurant was not busy. We were seated right away. The staff and environment were very friendly and welcoming. All of the food was very good with the table ordering shareables, sushi, and entrees of all kinds. Portions were appropriate for the cost and the ingredients were fresh. Everyone at the table had empty plates at the end of the meal.

The restaurant is bright with colors and the staff is very friendly. The food was delicious. This place is highly underrated. I will definitely be back.

This is my second time here - the first time was opening week and the second time was last week. A few things are different- the food the second time around was not the same I had the first time. The arroz chaufa was great the first time with a large shrimp on top and all, this time - no shrimp and lacking flavor. The pulpo was decent- again - the first time I visited everything was fantastic. Same with the lomo saltado - the steak was tough. Not sure what happened. The ceviche was still very good. Service outstanding and ambiance fun and welcoming.

On my first visit to this restaurant, the enticing images on Instagram motivated me to try it out. My husband and I chose it for a date night. While the menu offered a unique fusion of Asian-inspired dishes rather than traditional Peruvian fare, my shrimp fried rice initially disappointed as the rice was hard and undercooked. Switched to beef lo mein, where the onions were a bit large, but the beef was well-prepared and tender at a perfect medium. I advise against opting for medium well or well done as it may result in toughness. My husband enjoyed the seafood plate with white rice, and the yuca fries and grilled shrimp were highlights. Personally, I might not revisit, but I'd recommend it to family and friends for them to form their own opinions.

Let's get into it Because the restaurant is located in uptown the parking isn't great. There's a garage close by but they don't validate. So take into account $10 parking fee. We arrived at 9pm on Friday night. There was a wait but we got lucky and got a table right away. So i suggest having a reservation. The restaurant is well decorated and they were playing music. Most people had on heels and were dressed nicely. There seems to be a private dining area room and downstairs they have a bar, dance floor and music. I ordered the passion sour as my cocktail. It was very strong and didn't have any passion fruit flavor at all. It was still good but if you're looking for something on the lighter side, i would suggest something else. We also ordered a mule which was good. Lorena was our server. She was very nice. We asked for some plate recommendations, she said the lomo salteado was the most popular. She didn't check on us as much as you would expect but we were ok with that. Now the food: We ordered the lomo salteado and the tacu with lomo Both were good and had good flavor. But nothing really that stands out. Also the dishes were cold. I do think Both plates were a good size. We ended up having left overs. I do also wish the menu had more of a variety of items.

This place has potential. The food is delicious and beautiful to look at. However, their menu is small and our server lacked knowledge on their wine selection. They did not offer to ask the bartender for help until we asked them to do so. The location of this establishment is in uptown Charlotte so parking is hectic. My sister did park at a parking deck and the establishment never asked to validate our parking ticket. We came here to celebrate a friend's birthday and she did get a choice of a free birthday dessert. She chose a tiramisu but instead got a slice of chocolate cake. We decided to stay after hours because it turns into a club at 11pm. The club has two levels, with the main level playing Latin music. The DJ did play cumbias as requested by me however it was more of the commercial cumbia music. The basement level had more English, rave type music with a tiny dance floor and bar. Overall, it was an ok experience.

This place has SO much potential, but seeing it is recently somewhat of a new establishment, im hoping they are making serious work with making it better. Visited for a friend's bday dinner celebration at 8:30pm. The place is located in the same spot where "The Roxbury" nightclub used to be. Next door to Tequila House. It is a restaurant that turns into a nightclub after hours. Our waitress, phew, bless her heart. I know she was trying her hardest, but she really was giving off, barely seasoned and new to the crew vibes. She was super sweet and friendly, though. We ordered Prosecco, and we're told they actually do not have that. When asked if they had anything aimilar, she just said idk and left it at that (no type of help). A few other friends ordered the "Kings Crown" cocktail and apparently they ran out of that drink which is weird since it was still early on a Saturday and you would think they would stock up on those ingredients since it's their most "popular" drink. They ended up ordering a few other drinks from the menu, but none of them were a favorite among the group. A lot of the drinks tasted super watered down, so it left very little encouragement to order more drinks. We ordered the Causa Sampler, Pulpo Anticuchero, Lomo Saltado & the Arroz de Mariscos. Now, the Lomo Salvador was definitely a favorite amongst the group, and so was the Pulpo dish. Very tasteful ND very well marinated. The Arroz de Marisco was not a favorite. It looked more like soup that was topped with heavy serving of cheese, and we just could not stomach it. They did bring out a Tiramisu for my friend, but it was actually just a piece of chocolate cake. Even the server said it was just chocolate and didn't know why they advertised it as a Tiramisu. Overall, nice vibes and lovely restaurants. It was VERY empty for a Saturday night, and even during club hours, it was fairly empty. Seemed like a lot of people were going next door. I feel like they can definitely do better.

We arrived around 5:30-6:00 PM and were told the next available table wouldn't be until 8:30, so we ended up sitting at the bar instead. Luckily, the barstools were comfortable, so I didn't mind at all. The service was great--fast, attentive, and the bartenders were really friendly. The drinks were also really good. I had a lychee martini that was strong but delicious. We also tried a few of their shots--they had a unique, acquired taste. The only one I didn't enjoy was the Hierba shot because the aftertaste reminded me of licorice, which I'm not a fan of. But if you like licorice, you'd probably enjoy it. As for the food, everything was amazing. The yuca balls were a 10/10. We also had the "Pulpo Anticuchero", which was a Spanish style octopus that came with roasted potatoes that were cooked perfectly--crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, very fresh and flavorful. I ordered the arroz con mariscos (seafood rice), which included calamari, octopus, squid, and more. It was really good, and the portion size was huge--definitely enough to feed 3-4 people, so keep that in mind when ordering. The ambiance was really nice as well. The music was good and not too loud, which made it easy to enjoy the overall vibe. Overall, I'd give this place a 10/10.

Bright, fresh, and it elevated every bite. The bread was toasted just right -- golden, with a little crunch that held up to the fillings without going stale or soggy. Portion-wise, it's dialed in perfectly for one person. Not too much, not too little -- you walk away satisfied without feeling like you overdid it. My only gripe? The sandwich is split in half, which sounds convenient in theory, but in practice everything starts sliding out the moment you pick it up. It turns into a bit of a structural challenge mid-meal. A small tweak in how it's assembled or cut could go a long way. Minor complaint aside, La Lima is absolutely worth a visit. The Tusan alone makes it a repeat stop

This location paled in comparison to that at the much larger and nicer Ballantyne location. Of course that was like 6 years ago? First of all, aesthetically, this place just felt a bit off. The walk-up to the counter was very narrow...and the layout felt a bit too narrow and tight. Also, the menu selection seemed much smaller than I remembered it. At the Ballantyne location, I also remember that they had this Sangria drink...but not here. They did have 2 juice flavors...but nothing too exciting. In any case, I had the same item that I enjoyed before...the Peruvian Fried Rice. Again, it looked and tasted a bit weaker than I had remembered it. I did enjoy the 2 sauces that greatly helped the bland flavor of the rice. Also tried their Mini Churros...which were quite good. My husband enjoyed the Rotisserie chicken, and his 2 sides...but he felt the same as me, in that the layout felt tight and awkward. Overall, we thought the foods were good enough to return. We just didn't find the place very comfy.

Located where the former Moes was in the Pineville Matthews shopping center with Bonefish and Panera. The place looked pretty clean although after ordering my food I noticed the sanitation grade was a 91...yikes. Anyways I went ahead and ate there. So let me start by saying the menu is large, so many different items to chose from and not only Peruvian food. I saw some Colombian and Venezuelan items. With that being said I was very shocked at the lack of standard side items. Literally rice and white rice at that, pinto beans and like one other things. All other sides are considered premium sides and those premium sides would be basic sides at like hello chicken or viva chicken. I got the 1/4 chicken, white meat with reg side of white rice and premium side of plantains. For the dipping sauce I was limited to the yellow mild sauce or the spicy hot sauce. They were all out of the green mild sauce. Just for context I arrived at 11:40, they open at 11. Not sure how they ran out so fast but I would have loved to try it because the yellow sauce was just ok and the red was cold and just spicy no real flavor. Thankfully the chicken was flavorful and juicy, the white rice was white rice and the plantains were cooked beautifully. Also the cashier was great and provided excellent service. All in all, I would visit again but no rush to go back again. Viva Chicken still takes the lead for now for me. I would love them to mature their side menu, increase their sanitation grade and have the green sauce available.
