    Carne Asada Tacos
    Ian A.

First thing served was chips and salsa, which were great and as expected. Salsa can be creamy and watery as a heads up. I went with my partner (he got the Carne Asada Tacos): They were great and had a good serving size of 4 tacos with beans! Definitely recommend if you're looking for classic tacos And I got the Quesabirrias: PHENOMENAL... I had a greattt time so I would HIGHLYYYY recommend this card!! There's a menu with pictures of all types of plates that I selected the Quesabirrias.. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restaurant is really nice and clean, service was great and really fast bc the staff have ear , and the ambiance is nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is a bar area for those interested.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]We hosted my brothers graduation here in the private section and it was so perfect![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They were on point with the food and service. Very attentive. Orders of a big party taken perfectly. The cocktails were delicious, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]they even had live Marachi band and karaoke at the end of the night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The featured menu with zero pricing

My parents went to eat here as they have been going there for a while and pretty frequently. However, they will not be returning after charging my Mother $30 for an okay cocktail, using Don Julio blanco. Which an entire bottle of that cost $30.. I'm in the industry of the spirits world and I told her to talk to a manager as that has to be a mistake. Nope he gaslit her and said "well we pour two shots in there and we need to make our margins" that's literally the cost of the entire bottle! This was ordered off the featured menu where they did not put pricing knowing people will get stuck with paying. This shouldn't be no more than a $14 cocktail. You're just straight out stealing money from your customers with this little move.

Food was delish, didn't take long to arrive and it was fresh. Had to deduct two stars because took a good while for my waitress to come. When she finally did she was friendly and took my order quickly, but once my food came I never saw her again until she brought the bill. Place wasn't packed at 2 in a Wednesday afternoon. But in any case, because the food and horchata was so good I'd go back. I got the deluxe burrito and it was just what the doctor order. Filling and oh so good.

    Pollo Con Crema

Don Pedro used to have the best pollo con crema in the area, one if my favorite tex-mex dishes. Same as their sister ship Azteca Mexican Restaurants'. Any restaurant can have a bad day, but after 3 trips for my 'ol fav it's obvious they have changed the way they prepare this once flavorful dish, and it's not for the better. If you're not familiar with pollo con crema, generally it's grilled chicken served in a sour cream bechamel sauce with onions, bell pepper, and sometimes mushrooms. The key to a great PCC is griddle cooking the chicken first to infuse that great maillard effect flavor, then finishing off with the cream sauce and the vegetables. After ordering and it came back within a few minutes, I suspected the worst. And I was right. The chicken was either boiled, poached, or steamed. The bell peppers and onions were still raw and crunchy. The cream sauce had no flavor whatsoever and the flavorless chicken wasn't even completely covered in the sauce. Obviously cooked separately, then tossed in. Yuck! What a shame! I will say this though, the mango margarita was pretty tasty!

taco was soggy , server didn't check on me much and I paid $41 when I didn't even eat my whole meal . Place is the same as Aztec restaurant instead Aztec is way better in food quality, customer service , and speed . I will not be back !!

I experienced good customer service and food here. The staff is extremely welcoming and cares about their customers. One person I was with sent her food back twice because of not understanding the menu (her fault, not the restaurant's fault). The waitress was so patient with her and allowed her to reorder. Really nice dining room and there is also a outdoor dining area.

I Always come here for the tortilla soup. It's so delish!! the servers are always nice & attentive. If your looking for a classy authentic Mexican restaurant this is it! They also have a Gold room for special events.

Went here for a friends birthday. They had great customer service and even did something special for her which I thought was really sweet. They even gave some dessert that I would say was better than the entree I got. I got the fajitas and it was not at all what I expected. The onions were not cooked the way I liked. Usually the meat looks seasoned more but this meal just looked more "white" in appearance and there were more veggies than meat. I was a bit disappointed since I never had a fajita that disappointed me. However, I must say their drinks were pretty good as well as their guac. I came on a day where they had a band going on so that made my experience a bit better.

    Receipt

it's illegal to charge gratitude without NOTICE, it need to be printed on the menu or on the establishment as AD .. or even verbally, your customers need to know that the gratuity it's included for a table family of 4, if that's the policy it's ok, but we need to know. If they don't want to have it printed clear and loud, your server need to let you know. And the 18 % it's before taxes. The 18% of $76.45 it's $13.76 NOT $17.08.

So delicious l... I was seriously craving Mexican food done the right way and this place did not disappoint. Everything was fresh all the way down to the guacamole that was made at the bar while I watched. The enchiladas were amazing with the rice and refried beans...oh yeah they will be seeing me again soon. This week!!

So while my never-ending battle to get my beers counted in real-time still remains the bane of my ubiquitous existence here, at least the staff make it a little less maddening. To be fair sometimes it is tech issues where the app (which I have a neverending love/hate relationship with) will decide to do some new, weird, baffling yet enraging thing that mucks up my beer count, but I can always count on my Ladies in Charge Izz & Kels to work their magic. I also gotta give shoutouts to my girls Maddie & Stella & Katie for always taking care of me and finding ways to turn my frowns upside down! I have enjoyed the different styles and breweries they have recently been bringing into the mix (I thought I had died and gone to beer heaven when I saw they had 6 yes SIX 3 Floyds beers on tap & in cans!), but have noticed they haven't been adding as many local NC beers like they used to, which makes it hard for a regular, such as myself, on her 17th plate to come in for $5 NC Drafts on Sundays. I appreciate the new daily specials on Fridays/Saturdays and showing more appreciation for BeerKnurds that have been added (notably 1/2 lunch for BKs on Tues from 11am-3pm), but REALLY REALLY wish they would do more stuff (as in ANYTHING) for MOUs (BKs w/5+ plates). All that being said, you really can't beat their $5 off any draft on the wall or hard liquors + wine Mondays or their create your own pizzas (might I suggest my personal creation & fav the "Tickle My Pickle?); the food menu is just solid as their kitchen staff are some of the best (and nicest) in the biz! So, if you're looking for a spot where the staff make the experience just as much as the beer & food and that is the literal embodiment of Cheers once you've established yourself as a regular, then look no further! Come for the great beer shirts/hats + collectible glassware and stay for the beer/booze, food, and people...until next year!

It's seat-yourself, so we had to pull a couple tables together to fit everyone. One thing to note: it was very warm inside, so I'd recommend sitting toward the back where it's more comfortable. My boys really enjoy this place, so I wanted to like it more, but the food was just okay and a bit pricey for what you get. Most items run about $14.99-$21.99, even appetizers are at entrée prices. I ordered the Carne Asada Fries appetizer ($15.99) after hearing they were "fire." The steak had good flavor, but the portion was light--fine for sharing, but not very filling. One entree, Big Dipper ($15.49), a roast beef seemed overcooked and there wasn't much meat on a large bun. Two people from the table ordered pizza. Neither ate more than 2 pieces. On the positive side, the beer selection is excellent, with plenty of options on tap and in bottles and cans--from Guinness to local IPAs. The atmosphere is also unique: plates cover the walls and ceiling from guests who've completed their beer challenge, which makes for a fun, quirky vibe you really have to see in person. Dart boards for those who want to be a bit more active. Overall, it's a great spot for beer and atmosphere, but the food and pricing didn't quite match the experience for me.

The young man working tonight is representing you all as the face of your business, and he did a horrendous job. One of the worst attitudes I've ever some across and if ppl are going for true Chicago authenticity, he's definitely got it. Thought I was ordering Italian Fiesta off 71st (IYKYK). If buddy doesn't want to work there, yall should let him go. If it weren't for the fact I desparately wanted a taste of home, I would've walked out and not made an order at all. Businesses thrive thru word of mouth, and he is the type to get the wrong mouths speaking. I got a better welcome and hospitality from the DJ, and that's an insane statement to have to make. As a fellow Chicagoan, I was super excited about this place - didn't even look at reviews because I only trust the palate of fellow Chicagoans. I walked in and stood at the register at the "wait to be seated" sign, and behind it was a young man wrapping silverware. This man looked at me come in (we made eye contact, check your cameras) and still made me wait SEVERAL MINUTES until HE WAS READY to speak. He walks over and literally whispers "You wna place an order?" That's it. Just like that. Theres a DJ literally right behind us at the entrance so I asked him to repeat what he said and leaned in closer to hear him. He whispered it again and I had to lean in closer to hear him. Every single question he asked, he whispered it knowing full well I could not hear him and he made ZERO EFFORT to pipe up. I was damn near behind the register with how far I had to lean in to hear him. It was absolutely without a doubt intentional. What an attitude. Wow. I place my order and see yall charge a 15% gratuity for take out orders. That's insane. Food was decent but yall are cheap on the mild sauce. I had a little bit on my chicken (not even covering it), and none on the fries. HUH???? Yall want ppl to come back and tell their friends about this place, right? Cuz it doesn't seem like it. PUT THE MILD SAUCE ON THE FRIES. As aforementioned, if that young man does not want to work there, then yall need to let him go. He is not a good representation of your business, as the rest of your staff was incredibly nice. Not every person he encounters will be from the Carolinas and carry that southern hospitality with them. It took everything in my soul to not act up in yall's beautiful restaurant, but his behavior is totally unacceptable. Disgusting, truly.
