For about 10 years, I have taken my cars to Piperformance for repairs both large and small. Nine years ago a drunk lady in a very large Suburban mistook my little Miata for a curb! After ramming my car on the passenger door about 3 or 4 times, she decided to give up, turn her wheel in a different direction and leave! People outside saw this happening, came inside to find me and take me to my poor little smashed up car! During another episode, while waiting in the MacDonald's drive through, a Chevy Avalanche in front of me decided to quickly back up to allow another car to exit a parking space. Before I could get my car into reverse, the Avalanche turned the hood of my car into an "accordion" ! Both times, Linwood and his men repaired my car to make it look as good as new again. Someone tried to break into my car and, in the process, broke the passenger side door handle. I got an estimate of $580 to fix it from the dealership. My neighbor recommended Piperformance. I called on Monday and was told to stop by and get an estimate. Very pleased with this business. Son's car had a bumper about to fall off (still navigating those pesky speed bumps evidently). Piperformance was recommended by my trusty Acura fixer-uppers, D&E Automotive, and they did a great job. The car looks brand new and the repair even gave the son the incentive to do a thorough wash! Linwood was really nice and even allowed us to use a loaner so we wouldn't have to rent a car for the three days that were needed. Really good experience and the price was competitive with the other two quotes we got, but the recommendation was the clincher. I have used two other body shops and was not pleased. I finally asked as fastidious car collector who he used and without hesitation he recommended Piperformance. I went to his shop and right away he pointed out the poor work on my car that I had received from the other shops. For example, there was paint overspray on my rubber window trim. He said it's impossible to avoid it which is why he refuses to do it. He removes the trim and replaces it with new. Why new? Because it never goes back on properly. This is just ONE of the reasons I go to him. In a conversation I had with him just recently, he told me that after decades of working on cars, he still gets an immense satisfaction from a job well done. This is a family run business with pride, determination and honesty at the helm. Last winter I had my car in their shop for the repair of the right rear fender of my Infinity G-35. My neighbor had backed into me with a very heavy SUV with a trailer hitch. So, the fender damage was clean, but very deep, requiring a full fender replacement. The shops I went to gave me repair estimates that were SIGNIFICANTLY higher than the estimate I received from Piper. In fact, I was in disbelief! I'd never had a car repaired at Piperperf so I thought that there must be a catch. When closely comparing estimates to determine where the charge differences were, I found that material costs and labor rates were roughly the same, but the number of hours to do the repair were roughly half at Piperperf compared to the others. I thought that VERY strange and was concerned about the quality of the work I'd receive. But, since the other estimates were so outrageously high, plus the fact that Piper had been recommend to me by a car restoration shop located about two rows over in exactly the same business plaza in which Piper is located, I decided to swallow and go with it.. The upshot to all of this. Well, "in my opinion" the estimates I received from the other shops (one shop in particular) bordered on outright fraud. I've had my car repaired there several times and I won'r be going back! All I can say is that the repair made on my car by Pipeperformance was more than excellent, it was superlative for any price paid. I know that this is a dirty difficult job, where a lot of "stuff" needs to be removed from the car, including the rear bumper, window and side glass. It was so clean and neat that I couldn't tell it had been touched. The paint work was beautiful and it blended in everywhere perfectly. In fact, they even improved the color match of a previously painted sill panel located above the door, which had been repaired by another shop after minor damage. Not easy to do with an 11 year old car in excellent condition. They also repaired damage that was done to some structural panels located behind the fender, at NO EXTRA CHARGE! Need I say more? By this time you're probably saying, NO! But, I STRONGLY recommend that you take your car to Piperperformance for ANY car body work. You will get the best job done that's possible at an honest and especially fair price. In my case, Piper was able to complete a top quality repair to an Infinity G-35 Coup in about half the time and therefore at significantly less cost than the other shops that quoted me. Last year our 1 month old brand new Subaru Outback was hit from behind. This was the second accident in a year. I was determined not to go through what I did last time (see my positive Pack Bro.s review) so I did my homework. I was going to take my car to Pack Bro. in Belmont because I knew they'd do a great job, but really wanted to keep the car closer by. Belmont is quite a distance from me. Anyway, after doing some SERIOUS research I settled on Piperformance Inc. Boy am I glad I did. Our new car had $14,000 in damages, including a damaged uni-body frame on both sides. From beginning to end these guys kept me up to date with the progress. They refused to cut corners on my car. They even went to battle with the insurance adjuster about some panels that needed to be replaced. I had very high expectations. I expected my new car to come out of the shop looking like it did before it was hit...in every way. Piperformance met my expectations. When it was completed, the car looked fantastic! Like I did with my previous accident, I took my car to Collision Safety Consultants for a detailed safety inspection once I got the car back. The inspector was quick to comment on how well the repairs were completed, and it passed with flying colors. The repairs were done so well, that the insurance company's appraiser couldn't tell where the car had been damaged during their post repair diminished value appraisal. He had to ask what had happened to it. When I told him that it had had over $14,000 in damages, he couldn't believe it. Piperformance met all my expectations, communicated well, and even invited me to the shop to see the progress any time I wanted. I couldn't ask for a better experience. read more
